True Beauty

Today's project was a labor of love, a layout that I created for my oldest daughter. I am using a few current challenges that I wanted to play along with, and my "Hearts And Flowers" kit from February. I followed along with the sketch for this month from Artful Delight:

And played along with Tim Holtz's Tattered Florals challenge:
To be honest, I was a little intimidated by this contest-I have so many great ideas for projects swirling around in my brain, and the projects that have already been submitted are AH-MAZING! But, scrapbooking is what I love and do the most craft-wise, and the time is drawing down to enter. So, I cut some flowers out of paper scraps with this die (I am happy to report it worked quite well in my Cuttlebug with 2 "B" plates), and inked them up with Tattered Rose and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks, and scrunched and shaped them with my fingers.

I am also entering this layout in this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Easter/Spring, since the photo was taken in the spring, and nothing says "spring" to me more than flowers!

Here is what my finished layout looks like:

Supplies used: Basic Grey, Doodlebug, Graphic 45, DCWV,and My Mind's Eye patterned paper, bling by ZVA and Want 2 Scrap, Basic Grey letter stickers and Butterfly sticker, Tim Holtz Tattered Florals die, Tumbled Glass and Tattered Rose Distress Ink and Ranger ink blending tool and pads, MME brad, and Mr. Huey's mist.

Happy Tuesday!

I have lots to share with you today, so I will get started! Up first, I have a layout that I made for this sketch from ScrapFriends:

Here is the layout that I made for the challenge:

A closer look at the fun details:

The supplies I used were taken from a page kit that I made for next month's CKCB hop, so you'll get to see the kit with a supply list in a few days.
The second layout that I am sharing today is made for the Simon Says Stamp Challenge this week, which is Fall Leaves:
I used another kit which you will see on November 6th for this page, along with some yummy Jenni Bowlin die-cuts that I won and just had to try out. The photos were taken on one of my daily walks at the beginning of fall.

The last page I am sharing today is one that I made for the Glitter Girl Challenge this week, "A Manly Model".
I also based it on sketch #78 from ScrapFit challenges:

 A closer look:

Don't you love the gorgeous embossed quatrefoil cardstock? I used some new goodies that I won from the My Mind's Eye blog, from the Lost and Found 3: Ruby collection-the patterned papers are from the 6x6 pad (I just hid the seam under the layered border strip). I was excited at how well the Tin Pin from October Afternoon's Midway collection worked with the photo and theme-I have had this photo for 6 years, and just now was inspired to scrap it!!

A Scrappy Sunday, Part #2

The second layout that I made and am sharing today is based on the September 16th sketch from The Studio Challenges:
Here is my layout, "Spinning":

Finishing up my Inspired By Shimelle kit

WOW- I really got a lot out of this kit! Here are a few things that I made with it that I haven't shared yet: This page, based on the June 8 sketch from Boys Rule Scrapbook Kits:

My Layout, "Life Is Good Today":
Supplies I used: Co'ordinations Chocolate Box herringbone embossed cardstock that I sanded to show the lighter core, DCWV, Basic Grey, and Heidi Grace patterned paper, a banner made with punched scraps and fiber, and various other bits of punched scraps and paper tape.
The next layout was pulled together from bits of papers and the one full sheet that I had left:
 Supplies used:
GCD Studios Zen Garden "Bamboo"(B side for the main cs), and scraps of Graphic 45, Basic Grey, and DCWV papers, a fiber that reminded me of feathers, a camera from the digi kit (my special item) that I printed out on watercolor paper and fussy cut, Thickers and Scrabble letter stickers.
I also made a couple of cards from the kit; one that was inspired by a sketch from Kimber at 2Peas:

And another card and card base simply made from scraps:

In the end, this is what I was left with:

Not too bad, right? I will probably chuck the smallest scraps, put the stickers and tape away, and keep only the largest scraps.
(This is what I started with):
And here is a quick collage of everything that I made with it:
Be sure and come back tomorrow, I'll be starting on my second "Shimelle Inspired" kit!

Backyard Camp-Out

Today I am sharing a page that I made with my June Counterfeit kit (also for the Inspired by Shimelle challenge). I based this page on sketch 14 from "Let's Get Sketchy":
 Here is my page:
It was an awesome sketch for using up some scraps from my kit! Supplies I used: Graphic 45 A Proper Gentleman "The Sophisticate", The Paper Studio "Cork Board", scraps from most of all of my other papers, Target Kids Made Modern Paper Tape, Jenni Bowlin journaling spot and star strip sticker, "Family" and "Date" from Echo Park Times And Seasons digi kit (my surprise item in my June kit), Scrabble letter stickers, chipboard Thickers, I punched a light blue and a dark brown starburst that I inked up with my "messy item"- ink, and a cream patterned starburst (from my Basic Grey Wisteria "Finch" sheet)-I used my Studio G camping stamps on the cream starburst and another scrap of the Wisteria paper, which I "fussy-cut", and a asterisk from the Thickers sheet.
A Closer look at the cute little stamped images:

Thanks for looking-I'll be back tomorrow with another layout to share!
