Happy Monday to you!

But, I have some crafty fun to share with you, and hopefully, make you smile! Here are some pages that I have made in the last  few days:

"Party Statues":

I made this page using my October 2017 Counterfeit kit:

This page using my February kit and scraps:

And a fun pirate themed page, not using any kit, just supplies from my stash:

Thanks for allowing me to share with you! I hope I brightened your Monday a little bit. Now, go and have some crafting fun of your own!

Scrapping fun to Share

Well, I think I have finally broken through my slump. I have gotten several pages made, and I am feeling a bit of an urge to craft. The first page I am sharing today is the one that I made for the Master Forger's  2nd challenge on the Counterfeit Kit challenge blog;
How do you like to spend your weekend?

Challenge #2 is "Weekend time"
Interpret that however you like.
I must admit, I was a bit stumped with this one (it's always the easy ones that get us, right?) I finally just started flipping through my pictures, and came up with some pictures from a few years ago of the twins at the playground. It was a little bittersweet to scrap these, as they are now "too old" to play on the playground like they used to, but it was something that I did every year with them when it would first start to get warm outside. These photos may actually be from the last time I took them to a playground, now that I think about it. I almost dreaded it back then, because it would be so hard to get them to leave. It's a good lesson to slow down and appreciate those moments...because they are so fleeting, and I surely miss them. So here is the layout that I did to commemorate those sweet moments at the park:

a look at the embellishments:

I also made a layout for the first challenge on the Counterfeit Kit challenge blog:
Challenge #1 is I LOVE PARIS
  • WE all love Paris. capture the mood of Paris in your layout/card/tags. Use iconic buildings from Paris (need I list them?).Add love hearts, lace, whatever you want.
  • I’ve added some ideas to the Pinterest page.
  • They don’t have to feature photos of Paris!

My answer to to this challenge was Epcot France photos: it was the perfect excuse to use some OOOLD Eiffel Tower paper in my stash , which I cut up and used pieces of to embellish my layout:

a closer look:

I love that I have been able to use lots of bits and pieces from this month's kit on these two layouts:

Thanks for stopping by today! I have more scrappy pages that I've done, and can't wait to share them with you! See you back here tomorrow with more scrappy fun!

Finishing off some Page starters from old kits

Sometimes, if I am coming to the end of a kit, I will make up several page bases without any  photos, that I can later go back and quickly add photos, journaling, and embellishment to.

Like these:

Well, I was working through a stack of these, making pages, so thought I would share the pages that I have completed from these page bases.
I have a few from my April Secret Garden kit:

The completed layouts:

I feel good about getting more pages out of a really old kit!

Design Decisions, Prompt Two (Comparing two different takes on a prompt)

I am still steadily working on the Design Decisions class. Today's pages are both based on the second prompt, but still very different from one another. The first page, "Icy Beauty", utilized my January kit. Some decisions that I made for this page: cardstock background (which I chose beacause the patterned paper was thinner than some of my patterned papers, so I wanted it to have a bit of sturdiness. I used snowflake enamels for the embellishments, and chose to ground the photo on a doily that I had misted with some of the glimmer mist from the kit. I added droplets of mist, and even brought in another bottle of mist (violet Color Shine), for more noticeable droplets.

For the second page, I chose to use mostly supplies from a Disney kit that I have made up for myself, filled with Simple Stories Say Cheese and similar/coordinating products.I did use a doily veneer and a few stars from my January kit, as well. I made different design decisions for this page, such as, a patterned background, stars and pinked circles for embellishment, and grounded the single photo on top of a Mickey ear hat diecut. I do love how both layouts are from the same prompt, but quite different, based on the design decisions that I made.
Thanks for dropping by today, I would love to have you come by again soon, as I plan to keep creating and sharing!

Getting Started With Design Decisions (Prompt 1)

Good Morning! I am back, and kicking off my new series with my first page from Design Decisions. I made my first page for my Disney album from my most recent trip, about one of my favorite rides, Haunted Mansion, and used papers and stamps from my November Counterfeit kit:
And here is my layout:

I printed the song from the ride using the Project Life app (love it when I want to print my journaling- opening a word processing program on my desktop to journal while I am making a page just doesn't work with my process, but this couldn't be easier for me!). I stamped the word Haunted, the skull/book/candelabra image, and the photo corners on white cardstock, then inked them with Old Paper Distress Ink, added lots of little scraps, washi strips, gemstone stars, flair, punched Mickey, fussy cut frames, and one more stamped sentiment (it's in white and a bit hard to see in the photo, but it's in the cluster by the title).

Here's a closer look at the clusters:

If you are just now joining me, I am challenging myself to use up my stash of kits over the next month or two-you can read the details on my blog post HERE. Thanks for joining me today, I will be back soon to share another page inspired by the class!

Magic Monday...#ShowYourDisneySide memorabilia

Good evening! Today's layout features some memorabilia that I brought home from our last Disney trip, a brochure from the #Rock Your Disney Side 24-hour event that welcomed us on our first day. I had a fun photo that someone took of us in front of the Magic Kingdom train station, with the Rock Your Disney side banner in the background, and I thought that it would be the perfect compliment to the brochure.
I used supplies from my July CKC kit:

And here's a look at the brochure (I love just stapling them at the top so that I can fold them out and look at them if I choose to.):

That's all for tonight, I'll be back in couple of days (the 24th) to show what I have been making with my August CKC kit. See ya real soon!

Counterfeit Kit Challenge #3 for August 2016

This is the challenge that we were given:

Challenge #3 for August 2016 - Sounds Foreign to Me!

foreign

adjective

 UK /ˈfɒr.ən/  US /ˈfɔːr.ən/

belonging or connected to a country that is not your own:

Spain was the first foreign country she had visited.

foreign languages
In honour of our German inspiration kit, and the fact that you might have had a go at understanding the kit content list, I'd like you to be inspired by foreign words on your project.

Since I haven't ventured out of the United States as an adult (I need to remedy that!), my first thought was Epcot's World Showcase. I decided to scrap these  photos from the Norway pavilion's quick service bakery, mainly because the name of the bakery sounds so foreign.

All of the supplies for this page came from my August Counterfeit kit, and I have to say I quite love this kit, and the way my pages are coming together with it. I've made a couple more inspired by Shimelle's Project 20 class, which I will share on the 24th for our member's blog hop. Don't forget, we want to see your kits and what you are making with them, so be sure to email us at  thecounterfeitkitchallengeblog@gmail.com  and let us know that you would like to participate!

Magic Monday: Learning to Draw at Animation Academy

Good morning everyone, and Happy Monday! For today's edition of Magic Monday, we are heading over to Hollywood Studios. I scrapped these photos from Animation Academy (which is no longer there), of my twins learning to draw from Disney Animators. My husband took the twins to Animation Academy while I stood in line with my son and oldest daughter to meet Mickey and the Incredibles. The girls said they had so much fun, and they were rather disappointed to learn that it won't be there when we go for our next trip.

Enamel dots made the perfect little paint droplets for my paint palette:

I sketched a mickey head with a chalk marker to embellish the title :

The supplies that I used for this page came from my June Counterfeit kit:

Thanks for stopping by for another Magic Monday! I'll have some more crafty fun up on the blog tomorrow with a challenge and an example layout for the Counterfeit Kit challenge tomorrow. Have a magical day...See ya real soon!

A Late Magic Monday: "Fun With Goofy"

Good evening! I almost let this Monday slip away, running errands and such, and then I realized I hadn't shared a Disney craft yet. Here is a page made with the seemingly never ending kit from April, "A Secret Garden " (what was I thinking making up 4 kits anyway?Jeez). I am about to call it on that kit and put the remaining supplies away to be doled into future kits and pages, but I'm still trying to use as much as I can. Anyway, back to my page. I took inspiration from this fun challenge from Disneyscrappers;

EPCOT Challenge

Whether you love the rides, the food, the shopping, Future World, or the World Showcase,
there is alot to see and scrap at Epcot.
This challenge is to create a layout using photos of EPCOT
For this layout you must include one or more of the following elements:

*"Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow"
*Multiple Triangles to echo the designs all over Future world
*Circles (spaceship Earth) in the form of stitched circles, punched patterned paper, confetti, enamel dots, or buttons
*Figment
*metal or metallic products
I used the wonky circles from October Afternoon, gold metallic foam Thickers word and swirl. The kit really did suit the page quite well, with the green and white flowers echoing the florals and topiaries left over from the Flower and Garden festival, the circles on the background giving a nod to both Epcot and the soccer Goofy. Now, I'm off to bed to watch the rest of tonight's broadcast of Olympic events. Have a great night!

Magic Monday...Star Wars Style

Welcome to another edition of Magic Monday! This week I am focusing on all things Star Wars. When we went to Disney World in 2014, we just happened to go on one of their Star Wars Weekends at Hollywood Studios. Now that they have announced that they are making a "Star Wars Land" at Hollywood Studios, and the park has a lot more Star Wars activity year round, these Star Wars weekends have become a thing of the past. The way the parks evolve and change are actually one of my favorite things about Disney, so I am trying to document the way it was when were there before, to fully appreciate the differences and changes when we go back.

I made this page with my brochure from the park that weekend, just stapled to the top of my page, so that you can still open it out and read it, and some fun photos that Eric and a few of the girls took-"Magic Shots" that made it look like they were battling Darth Vader.

what it looked like with the brochure folded out:
 details, details:

And, yes...I am still working on that ginormous April kit! Lol! Hopefully, I will have pretty much killed it soon, and I can do a kill a kit post or video!
Thanks for stopping by my blog today, I hope you have a Magical day! See ya real soon!

Magic Monday...Disney Food Edition

Our favorite quick service restaurant at Disney World on our last trip was Flame Tree BBQ at Animal Kingdom, hands down. My mouth waters just thinking about the smoky smell drifting through the park! So, when I saw this challenge over at Disneyscrappers, I knew what I needed to scrap about:

Challenge #7 from the International Scrapbook Day crop, "Food, Glorious Food"We all know there is amazing dining opportunities in the Disney Parks! So this challenge is about getting you to scrap your food and restaurant photos.

Here is my Flame Tree bbq layout:

Once again, I used my April CKC kit (It was a big kit, I will be using it for a little while still!). I was happy to finally get that bird embellie on a page-I have had it since I received it in a 2Peas swap a few years ago, and loved it, put it in numerous kits, but never found quite the right page for it until now. I am happy to finally have it in my album!

A closer look:

Thanks for visiting my blog today, be sure to come back next Monday for a new edition of Magic Monday...I believe we will visit Hollywood Studios for a Star Wars Weekend layout! See ya real soon!

Magic Monday... Celebrate the Magic

For today's edition of Magic Monday, I took the challenge from Disneyscrappers
Night Magic Challenge
Nothing is as beautiful at night as a Disney Park, it just twinkles and sparkles all around you.
The lighting around the parks, the parades, and the spectacular shows. I know you have many many night time photos that you want to scrap, but it can be intimidating.
For this challenge create a layout using photos taken at night in a Disney Park or Resort.
You must add something that sparkles
And also use these 3 night time Disney colors:
PinkYellow/Gold, and Blue/Teal
This challenge was the perfect inspiration to scrap this photo from the "Celebrate The Magic" castle show the last time we were at the Magic Kingdom. I used supplies from my April CKC kit, "Secret Garden." I made the journaling card in my Project Life app, and printed it at home. The glittery blue snowflakes were the only thing that were not in the kit, but I felt that this would be the perfect opportunity to use up the package and give a little nod to Frozen.

Magic Monday...July 4th Edition

Good morning! Happy Independence Day!

As you may have noticed if you are a long time follower, my blogging has been a bit on the few and far between side of things lately. So, I have decided to jazz it up a bit with at least one new blog series that will (hopefully) keep me blogging on a bit of a more regular basis. I have another Disney trip planned for this fall, and still several pages that I want to make about my last trip, so the two don't get jumbled in my my mind. I also have a few crafty projects and ideas that I want to make for our upcoming trip, so I think that this will be the perfect place to share these pages and projects, and keep me motivated to finish them. So, without further ado, welcome to the new "Magic Monday" series.
For this page, I was inspired by a couple of challenges over at the Disney Scrappers site. There were several challenges that I have been meaning to play along with from the International Scrapbook Day crop, and I finally got a chance. The first challenge was to be inspired by a Disney color palette. I have had Alice in Wonderland on the brain lately, since I am participating in an Alice themed swap, so I knew I wanted to do a page from our ride on the Tea Cups ride in Magic Kingdom.

Here is the color palette that I chose, sort of a softer take on the Alice In Wonderland colors:
I still had quite a bit of stash from my April "Secret Garden" Counterfeit kit, and I knew that I wanted to incorporate florals into this page because of the topiaries-and that a tea party needs flowers-so, this kit was perfect for this page.

Disney Scrappers had a border punch challenge for June, and I had a border punch in my Secret Garden kit, so I incorporated that into my page as well.

A glimpse into the details of this page:

So, there you have it. A little "Disney Magic" for your Monday! What do you think? I would love to have you stop by next Monday for the next installment of Magic Monday! If this post inspires you to scrap some of your own Disney memories, I would love to see-link me up!
