CAS-ual Fridays CFC82:Even The Score

Hey everyone...welcome back for another scrappy post. Today I'll be sharing a card I made for the current challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays. I'm on the DT for Scor-pal and they're sponsoring the challenge for this week so we were invited to create a card within their theme..Even The Score. I jumped at the chance to do this as I love this challenge blog and I use my Scor-pal all the time so it was a no brainer for me : )

First let me show you my card then I'll show you how I used my Scor-pal .......

To create the diamond pattern..I took a 6 x 6 piece of vellum and placed it on my Scor-pal on the diagonal and made a score mark every 1/2"

Rotate your vellum...place it on the diagonal and resume with the 1/2" score marks...

When your all done your vellum will look like this....

Next I used my Scor-pal to create the fold for my card...

Now that the basics for the card have been created..the fun & creativity begins : )

I added some tiny sparkle bling to accentuate the diamond pattern.

I used a left over strip of the scored vellum for the inside...just to tie it in to the front.

And one last look...

Thanks for stopping by and checking out my scored & sparkly holiday card : )

Be sure to head on over to the CAS-ual Fridays blog to see some inspiration from their DT and to see the FAB prizes being offered up by Scor-pal. You'll want to head into your creative space and start working on your card for this challenge.

Happy Craftin!!

South Pacific

Happy Saturday Scrappers & Crafters. Today I will be showing you a card I just created for CFC #38 over at CAS-ual Fridays.

This is red carpet challenge that has not one but two "Oscars" up for grabs this week. Not only do entrants have a chance to win the coveted "V.I.P" button for your blog but you also will have the opportunity to be a Guest Designer with CAS-ual Fridays & become a Temp with the Girl Fridays~insert school-girl squeal~

Here is my card for this weeks challenge...
My favorite movie of all time is Gone With The Wind & I wanted to do something with that theme BUT when I was looking through my paper I spotted the GORGEOUS Tropical Travelogue paper pack collection from Graphic 45 I just knew instantly which movie theme I wanted to go with...South Pacific. This classic movie/musical is another favorite of mine and the G45 Tropical Travelogue papers go with this perfectly! See for yourself from the pic below...

I love the vintage feel of this paper...the colors are so rich and make you feel as if you really are on a tropical island in the South Pacific. I fussy cut the Toucan from another sheet in the collection & added some dimension dots on the backside so it would "pop" from the beach scene a bit. Here's a closer look..
This ribbon from May Arts is just gorgeous & goes so well with this paper collection.
They also have coordinating chipboard tags that go with the Tropical Travelogue collection. I just inked up the edges a bit in some coordinating Aqua & added some natural twine.

And now for the inside....
I like to carry the theme from the front to the inside of my cards so I just wrapped the May Arts ribbon around the front into the inside.
There are some beautiful tropical fish prints on the other side of the blue paper...I have an idea for a project with that paper but that's for another post : ) I thought by adding the blue on the inside...it would mimic the feel of the ocean from the front. I added some more of the yummy ribbon with a staple in the corner. Here's a closer shot of that....
Love it!!

And one last look at my South Pacific classic movie inspired card for the CAS-ual Fridays CFC#38 challenge...

I hope you enjoyed looking at this beautiful card & had a "mental" vacation to some tropical isle while looking at the beautiful beach scene..I know I find myself doing that every time I flip through this collection of amazing papers.

One last thing before I close this post...I have gained 4 new followers this week..YAHOO!!! I am super excited that I have more scrappy ladies that are interested in what I create & blog about. CAS-ual Friday Challenge #36

Welcome back to another scrappy post! Today I am showing you all a card I made for Challenge #36 Penguin Suit over at CAS-ual Fridays.

The challenge is to create a card with nothing but black & white in celebration of National Penguin Awareness Day which was on January 20th.

This was such a fun challenge to participate in and I knew exactly which papers I wanted to use for this card.
I bought the Colorbok Midnight patterned paper a while back and fell in love with the damask print right away. I paired it with some white Bazzil and few other items and came up with this Black/White beauty to give away to a friend : )

I'm not sure if I should tell you where this flower came from but I am going to anyway : )  This flower is from the flip flops my daughter wore in our wedding two summers ago. She only wore them during the reception and when we were cleaning out her room she found these up in the top part of her closet. Of course they were too small to wear anymore so before we tossed them in the trash..I snipped the two flowers off so I could use them on some scrappy projects. I just inked the edges & added a glittery brad and voila!!
I stamped a friendship sentiment and topped it off with some Charcoal twine from The Twinery.
I added some FAB black ribbon from May Arts. I won this from the Graphic 45 & May Arts Blog hop that I posted about here. This ribbon is just gorgeous and I was lucky enough to win a whole spool of this!!

And now for the inside.....
I used more of the yummy twine on the inside to complete the look.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today...I do appreciate all of you who do & the comments you leave me as well.

Be sure to come back tomorrow for another scrappy post.

Happy Scrappin!!
