Friday's PL

Hi there, Cristina with SBC here with you to share a PL layout I did. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It all came so fast so I hope everyone enjoyed some good quality family time. Today I will be sharing a PL layout I did of my daughter at the beach. I really wanted to incorporate some color photos with the black and white. I really like to use both color and black and white pictures, I think it gives it some character. With this layout I used: Project Life - Midnight Core Kit Authentique - embellishments MayaRoad - Ribbon Heidi Swapp - Gold and Pink color mist I wanted to give one of the cards some extra color, so I splattered some of the color mist onto it. About Me layout

Hi Everyone, Sandy here for Friday Layouts.  I am putting together a faith scrapbook with my favorite Bible verses. My tip: if you are starting out scrapbooking, you can start with an 8x8 or in my case a 8.5x11 instead of going to the big 12x12. So here is my project, my first page of my 8.5x11 faithbook... All About Me,

Dot Emboss Layout

Hi Everyone, Sandy here for Friday Layouts, with a very easy to do emboss technique without all the fancy machines and gadgets. My Tip: you can use a mouse pad to get great impressions for embossing and I love using them to stamp on. Your image will be so much richer in color. So here is what I did: First I did free hand dot embossing, once again using my stylus and a foam square.  Very easy to do. Next I sanded the raised dots so the core can show through. And here you go... A sweet little layout of the parentals. There is glitter on the butterfly pattern paper, on the pink strip and the cute little dragonfly. Oh!  And distressing on the picture.  Never done that before but if you do, you have to commit and not worry about destroying the picture (hard for me to do but I did it, lol). Please stop by and visit our fan page and SBC group. Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by!

Friday Layout

Hello and welcome to all my scrappy and crafty friends. Barbara here with your friday layout. MY TIP   Use embellishments to form a visual triangle on your layout to help the eye move over the entire layout and not miss any details. Here is my completed layout: Recipe coordinating patterned papers flowers journal card lace tape ribbon rub on of hand brad for flower I used the large journal card on one side of the photo and the large flower on the other side for balance. I used the lace tape to make a visual triangle around the photo to help the eye travel over the layout. Thanks for looking. I hope you are inspired to use a visual triangle on your next layout. As always comments and questions are welcome. Till next time Barbara Hope you have a blessed day and thanks for stopping by,

Friday Layout

Welcome to all my scrappy and crafty friends today. Thank you for stopping by. Barbara here and I am going to show you a fairly simple Layout that looks more complex than it really is. My Tip - try your pp layout without glue first to make sure your embellishments will fit where you want them. Try to make a visual triangle on your page to draw the eye over all parts of the layout. Here is my completed layout for today: Recipe: four pieces of coordinating patterned paper one piece of solid coordinating cardstock Three photos embellishments journaling card Pick one piece of patterned to be your base. I cut the floral paper to 1 x 12 I cut the black print to 5 x 12 I cut the diagonal stripe to 1 x 8 and I cut the solid gray to 8 x 10 Place the gray cardstock to the left side of your pp base. If your diagonal stripe paper is like mine and slants toward the middle be sure to cut equal amounts from each side so the center will still be the center. Place ...

Hello to all my scrappy and crafty friends. Barbara here with a layout to make your small photos shine. Mixed Media Friday Layout

Good morning to all my scrappy and crafty friends. Barbara here with a Friday Layout. I am going to show you how to do a simple mixed media layout. Hope you enjoy it. Tip  Mixed media is really easier than it looks. There are no mistakes. If you do something you don't like just put something else over it. Here is my finished layout for today: Recipe medium bold patterned paper gesso stamps inks embellishments as desired First I chose inks that were pretty close match to the colors of the patterned paper. Then i put 2 coats of gesso over the middle section of the patterned paper. Let the first coat dry completely before adding the second coat.  Then I chose stamps with a linear pattern, but any kind of stamps will do fine. After the second coat of gesso is completely dry stamp your images over the part of the pp that has gesso on it. The ink will not soak into the paper because of the gesso so will take a little longer to dry. After the ...
