Unique Gift Wrapping - A Homemade Pillowcase!

Today, I want to share with you not only a super easy sewing project to make for Christmas gifts but also to make for various organizations that are looking for pillowcases to be donated to children in need. I know when I had left my first husband, my daughter received her very own pillowcase from a quilting organization at the Woman's Abuse Shelter. Since then, the Quilt Guild I belong to collects them along with a local quilt store. Since that time, I have made special pillowcases for Jen which came especially handy when there would be "sleep-overs" as not to get her pillow confused with others BUT also a great wrapping instrument for gifts.  I now make them for Lily and this is her "special" pillowcase that I made to put her Christmas presents in this year. Supplies: 3/4 yard main fabric 1/4 yard contrast fabric for cuff  trim the salvage away on both the main fabric and the cuff fabric   TIP: at the same time make sure the widt

Silhouette Knock-Out Technique

Hello, Friends!  Marilyn here with a technique that may be new to some of you.  Those who use it call it the knock-out technique. Here is an example of what the knock-out technique looks like: Silhouette Knock-Out Design Technique To create my example, I first typed out the "Happy New Year" in black using a thick font (I used Impact).  The line spacing will need to be adjusted to make the lines closer to each other. Then I typed 2015 in blue using the font Arial.  The colorful confetti was purchased and downloaded from the Silhouette store. Design #17667 from Silhouette Store I color filled the confetti and placed around the 2015 text. Step 1 - design  Next place the 2015-confetti design on top of the Happy New Year text and duplicate - you'll need two copies of your design for this effect. Step 2 - place 2015-confetti design on top of Happy New Year and create an extra copy. Highlight the top design and choose "crop".  You'l

Friday's PL

Hi there, Cristina with SBC here with you to share a PL layout I did. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. It all came so fast so I hope everyone enjoyed some good quality family time. Today I will be sharing a PL layout I did of my daughter at the beach. I really wanted to incorporate some color photos with the black and white. I really like to use both color and black and white pictures, I think it gives it some character. With this layout I used: Project Life - Midnight Core Kit Authentique - embellishments MayaRoad - Ribbon Heidi Swapp - Gold and Pink color mist I wanted to give one of the cards some extra color, so I splattered some of the color mist onto it. SBC Easel Tutorial ~

Hello Friends, Annette here for the Scrapbook Blessings Club and today for Friday's Cards. Today I would like to feature my Easel Cards. Easels are one of my most favorite cards I make and I try to utilize my Easels for various styles, its amazing what you can achieve, they are so much fun. Tip of the Day: I always use 285gsm for my Easel for strength to hold the heaviest of embellishments. Now onto my project: Here are some of the different designs I have used my Easels for:  I always use 285gsm Easel Stand and I make my Easel separately to my platform. Using an A4 Quill Metalique 285gsm Board I score with my Scor-Pal as per photo hereunder scoring at 2" ~  4" ~ 8" Fold and join with double sided adhesive tape  Cut your platform out measuring 9" X 6+1/2" Cover your Platform and your Easel in desired designers papers and then place your Easel on top of your Platform with double s
