Another Wild (Flower) Birthday Card

Hello, again! I have another quick birthday card for you; this one is going to my mother in law who loves blue. Not a lot of frills or layers, because it needs to be light and flat for posting from my home mailbox.

I have a bit of an obsession with Wildflower Stems Thinlits die cuts, so I'll apologize for how many times I've used them recently. And my apologies for blowing up your computers and phones with my posts. I've had to be off my feet for a couple days, so I've had some time to craft and blog. I'm like a kid in a candy store!

I've been hoarding the background for well over a year. I had the pleasure of meeting up with Autumn and some of her talented friends in Columbia, SC for Stamp Convention, and her friend allowed us to use her newly purchased Glorious Bouquet stamp. It's heat embossed in white, and all that was left was to add oxide inks in blues. A Metallic Quotations sticker on white card acts as my birthday greeting.

I wanted the Wildflower and Tim's old Daisy Punch flower to stand out against the subtle background so I colored them with deeper blue and more concentrated oxides. I used Platinum Liquid Pearls for the punched flower's center. The embellishment panel was backed with a piece of graph paper colored with oxide inks. I hope she likes her birthday card!

After I posted this and the card is already in the mail, I 'wished' I had added some black splatters. Haste makes waste! (Next time.)

Thanks so much for stopping by today. I've really appreciated all your lovely comments on my recent posts, and will try my best to repay the visit in a more timely manner than I have been. Hugs and Blessings! Sara Emily

Make a Wish Birthday Card With 3D Impresslits

Sara Emily Barker http://sarascloset1.blogspot.com/ Make a Wish Birthday Card With 3D Impresslits 1

Hello friends! My prayers are for each one of you who may be affected by hurricane Florence. Please stay safe and look out for your neighbors, especially the elderly. I just have a quick post today, because we need to finalize our hurricane preparations.  This is a card I made for my sister in law's birthday featuring Tim Holtz 3D Impresslits Texture Fade Burst, several of his Thinlits die sets, and his Glorious Bouquet stamp. Links to products used are at the end of my post.

I embossed Glorious Bouquet in Ranger Princess Gold embossing powder for the background, and blended with Shaded Lilac Distress ink. I also embossed the Bursts in gold and edged with Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide. I don't own this stamp yet, but Autumn's friend let us use hers when we had some wonderful crafty time together last spring. I didn't have my Stamp Platform with me, so my impression is less than perfect. The Bursts are a wonderful save and hide my imperfection!

Garden Greens, Wildflowers and Wildflowers #2 Thinlits die cuts were colored with oxides and some gold embossed. The lace from my stash was dyed with Shaded Lilac oxide, and the sentiment is a Small Talk sticker is also inked with oxide.

I splattered the background with watered down ink and layered the panel over a Frayed Burlap ink edged panel of textured card from my stash. I die cut and snipped a few Skeleton Leaves in white card for some relief from all that gold and lavender.

That's all from me for today; perhaps for a while. The local news is warning our power may be out for weeks if this hurricane upgrades to a Cat 4 and passes over Wilmington NC as predicted. Please keep the east coast of USA in your prayers. I'm just so thankful it's not predicted to hit Florida, where my Mom lives.

Hugs and Blessings!
