Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #6 - Cheerful Get Well!

**this is my 2nd post of the day! to see my card for the latest Inky Paws Challenge card, scroll down or click here!**

yahooo! it's time for a NEW challenge on the block!!! and it's all about LAWN FAWN!!!!!

i'm still SO excited about this newest challenge on the block! SO SO SO excited!

this challenge is AMAZING!!!

yay!!i really had SO much fun making this card, it seems like someone in my family has been sick on and off since Easter - we're looking for some relief! ha! so this theme is right up our alley! :)

i stamped the images from Get Well Soon and On the Mend in a the Manatee Ink onto a piece of white cardstock! then i added some shading with various Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers in grays!

The 'cheerful' part of this get well card comes with the rainbow watercolor! I simply scribbled various rainbow colors (one at a time!) onto a piece of plastic packaging, and then smooshed it onto my white cardstock! I waited for the watercolors to dry, and added more color on top 2 or 3 times! love that watercolored look!

lastly, i cut the grey images cardstock on a diagonal and layered it on top of my watercolor panel. heat embossed the sentiment and popped it up on some black cardstock!

oh, i really can't WAIT for you to play along! you could win a $25 gift certificate to Lawn Fawn!!!!

enjoy!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release - Flower Garden

happy tuedsay!
and welcome to day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs June Release

today, the whole DT is showcasing the gorgeous, summer-y and floral Flower Garden stamp set! this is another, absolutely gorgeous floral set! it's divine!

you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on June 17th, right here!

my 1st card is probably one of my most favorite cards in the history of ever!

ha!

isn't it awesome!? well, i am totally biased, because i'm in big, puffy heart love with anything rainbow! and those flowers in the circle were SO fun to stamp!!

i simply alternated stamping one of the flowers, and then stamping both to give it the staggared look. and then i used a circle on top and did some simple distress ink blending! sooo pretty! :)

for my 2nd card, i kept it a bit more clean and simple:

i actually colored in the images with copics and then fussy cut them out and attached them to the base. the reason? i'm the WORST (!!!) at staying inside the lines! lol!! And one layer cards scare me! ha!

once the flowers were attached, i did just a tiny bit of masking to elongate the stems to go above and below the flowers! then i outlined the flowers in a light, soft blue!

Inky Paws Challenge #23 - Summer Lovin'

hello and happy friday!

today starts a BRAND NEW Inky Paws Challenge over on the Newton's Nook Designs blog! yay!
this time, it's all about summer!!

and what a perfect match to the NEW RELEASE we just celebrated last week! eek!

i used the new Summer Scoops stamp set to create this fun rainbow of ice pops! mmm!!!! i've said it before, and i'll say it again...rainbows, everytime! ha ha!

i watercolored each ice popsicle with Distress Markers after they were heat embossed in white.
i did the same thing with the balloon from Winston's Birthday! all of the images were popped up with foam tape against that lightly misted in gold background! :) oh, and the sentiment was stamped from In Slow Motion

i finished the card off with some washi strips on the top and bottom in black and white for some major contrast! love it!

so now it's your turn! play along with the Inky Paws Summer Lovin' challenge for your chance to win some Newton's Nook store credit of your own! we really can't wait to see what you make! :)
enjoy!

a sweet little rainbow of coffee

hey there!

me again!
i'm sharing this fun little ditty of a card that uses lots of coffee cups, and lots of Sweet Stamp Shop colored images! :)

because...rainbows, am i right? i LOVE them! and i seem to make a lot of rainbow colored cards, or projects! they're so happy and bright, i just can't stay away from them! :)
so i made this card for the coffee lover in your life! :)

there are as many different types of coffees as there are colors in the rainbow! (maybe more, if we're being honest! lol!)

i used Cuppa Coffee stamp set!
all of the images were colored with copics and popped up over that fun background! i added the types of coffees in stripes of white, and then used some gesso with my finger around the words...for fun!

this card is blank inside, so it can be used for any occasion! can't wait to send it to my favorite coffee lover! :)
enjoy!

dreaming of a cloudy christmas

hello!!
it's almost christmas! and it's almost sunny!! ha ha!!
well, i can't even say it's almost sunny, actually there is an ALMOST tropical depression just sitting over us! it causes lots of rain and lots of clouds. lol!

well, that was a tangent!! lol!
my card today is about clouds though, so that's where this all started! :)
i created this card for the most recent Little Tangles challenge, which is all about BLING, baby!! :)

how can i resist?
i heat embossed some of the clouds from the super LOVELY Clouds stamp set from Neat and Tangled, in Liquid Platinum, and then watercolored some distress markers onto them. LOVE the pools of color near the edges. i definitely added a little shading near the edges, just so it wasn't so flat.

then i popped up some of the clouds and added two different sized silver sequins (the larger Silver Metallic ones are from the Neat and Tangled shop!).The front panel was spritzed with a little gold mist and then i stitched onto a few of the clouds, and card base....because...well i love to sew on cards. i can't help it! :)

so that's my card!
i'm hoping this card makes my spirits bright, since the weather certainly won't! :)
what's the weather like by you?
enjoy!

lawnscaping challenge - one layer...wonderful!

well, it's monday...and a BRAND NEW month, to boot!
and what makes this day even MORE special...it's a new Lawnscaping Challenge
yahoo!!

this time, it's all about...the dreaded...the feared...the impossible...ONE LAYER CARD!

ok, maybe that just describes MY feelings toward one layer cards - essecially, they TERRIFY me! lol! i LOVE looking at other people create one layer cards...but me? oh no. i just can NOT execute! lol!

alas, i do have a card to share:

i used the NEW joy to the woods stamp set from lawn fawn! ACK - this new release, LOVING it all!! :) ha ha!
ok, back to the card, i stamped the tiny, funky diamonds in a rainbow of distress inks and then filled in the color VERY carefully by using the ink pads, some water and watercoloring the color in.

the sentiment - that was FUN! i used the scripty hello die to create a 'mask' or stencil, of the word 'hello'. then i squished my versamark ink pad on top and sprinkled some lovely silver embossing powder on top! isn't that fun?! yep, i liked how it turned out!

so that's my one layer card! my fingers literally STILL ITCH to add more...wood veneers, enamel dots, sequins, SOMETHING to add some dimension to the card - help! lol!

ok, so now it's your turn! :) i really hope you join in on the fun with this challenge!!
for even more inspiration (if you can stand it!), check out the lawnscaping facebook page! they're dedicated to keeping your creative juices flowing! :)
what's the worst that could happen? you could wi

n a gift certificate to simon says stamp! hello!!
