stinkin cute

alright, i had to use that skunk image from simon says stamp's 'stinkin cute' set one more time! it really is stinkin cute! and what's better than a funky colored, stinky cute skunk? not much... :) and the colors from the lesley's challenge at the fusion card challenge were calling me!

oh yeah. awesome. i know.
so here's my card:

it didn't come together exactly as i planned, but overall, i like it. the enamel dots, mixed with the hearts are fun! they're like wafting up from his tail, like a 'smell', but it's love. awwww. :) ha ha!
and i super like that little real enamel dot on his belly! lol!

the skunk was paper pieced and popped up and i created my own banner for the sentiment.

so that's it!
enjoy!

a little thanks

the card i'm sharing today is soft, and super feminine and not my usual style! but i just went with it, and i sort of think the result is pretty!

i created the card for the current fusion card challenge (using lesley's inspiration photo)!

and i'm also adding it to the lawnscaping design team call challenge! (no tutorial this time though!)

and here's my card!

lots of texture! birch tree background, burlap panel, lace doily, glitter tape, and wood veener birds on a wire?!? oh my!! i am totally into birds on a wire right now, and i couldn't wait to use these on a card!

the sentiment is from lawn fawn's summertime charm stamp set. i heat embossed it on white (more texture!) and also so it would really stand out against everything else! :)

so that's it!
enjoy!

light up my life

here's a quick post for a fun card i made for the fusion card challenge!
i used jackie's sketch!

i love that banner in the sketch, it just SPOKE to me! :) ha ha!
i used the new sparkle and shine stamp set from neat and tangled! and look!! - no sequins, this time! :)

i stamped the lightbulb onto the banner and then used my craft knife to cut out the insides. then i layered some yellow cardstock underneath the cut out! then i added some glitter - to make it shine! :) i think my favorite part (besides the lightbulb! lol) is the fun little 'chain' for the lightbulb! ha! it's the little things... :)

i like the light, bright and happy feel of this card! :)
enjoy!

you're a knockout!

today i have a birthday card to share! i created it for the current fusion card challenge! obviously i used the colors from lesley's challenge and i was inspired by the sketch from jackie's challenge!

i used three paper smooches stamp sets - alphadot, sentiment sampler and hope.

i colored the boxing gloves with my inktense pencils and then used my heidi swapp (tinsel) color shine to add color to the star wood veeners! i sort of wanted the stars to emphasize the 'knockout' part of the card! :)

the top border i created with washi strips and i used a brad and twine to 'hang' the boxing gloves! :) the gloves are also popped up for a little dimension.
i think this card is going to be perfect for my bff who's totally loving working out all the time right now! :)

so that's it!
enjoy! (and look! no sequins this time!) ha ha!

burning brightly

i have a quick post to share with a card i made for the current fusion card challenge! it's my first time playing along, and i think i'm already in love! for this card i chose to go with jackie's challenge.

and here's my card:

i used the super adorable lighter than air stamp set from the alley way stamps. LOVE that set! :) i have been eyeing that lightbulb image forever and i'm happy happy happy thati finally inked it up! :)
i layered some bright yellow websters pages washi and a thin black strip of washi to go with the black sentiment and card base.

then i splattered it all with the awesome 'shine' mist from mr huey's! i mean, light bulbs have to shine, right? ha ha! oh, and it was love at first sine too, that spray is AWESOME! i think i'm in love! :) i'll definitely be playing with it some more!
so that's it!
enjoy!
