but let's focus on the happy: ONE MORE challenge! :)

it's the PERFECT time for this challenge, and we can't wait to see what you make! :)

i watercolored the crab from Life is Good, as well as the santa hat and presents from Holiday Party Animal with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers! I heat embossed the sentiment with a custom phrase using Harold's ABC's, my old favorite!!

this week we're sponsored by lawn fawn! so get your card making on, and you could win a stamp set of your choice! :)

25 Days of Christmas Tags - Lawn Fawn

hi there!

today i'm super excited to be able to join in on the fun with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags event as part of the Lawnscaping Challenge design team!

it's all about Lawn Fawn today, and i'm just thrilled to be able to share this adorable, snowy little scene with you!

i colored that cute little deer and stack of presents from the Toboggan Together stamp set with Copics! I really love the pops of green and teal on the snow hills!

and speaking of hills...i did LOTS of die cutting on this little tag! the star shape is from the Puffy Star Stackables dies, and that starry background is the Snowy Backdrop die! I also cut a few layers of white cardstock with the Stitched Hillside Borders die to create the hills! the topmost hill is popped up with foam tape!

finally, i used  the Silver Sparkle Cord to add some shine to match the silver glittered stars peeking out of the background!

so make sure you head over to Tracey's blog so you can see all of the fun going on with the 25 Days of Christmas Tags!! :)
enjoy!

Lawnscaping Challenge #137 - Texure-fied!

well, It's time for a new Lawnscaping Challenge!! :)
and it's time for a new month! and people - It's September!! i seriously can't believe it's already September...

anywho - let's focus on the good!
the new Lawnscaping Challenge is all about texture! and i couldn't be MORE excited to make something!

eeeek! so fun, right?
i used some of the new Lawn Fawn sets and, naturally, textured cardstock! ha!
to start, i used Distress Inks to create a watercolor-y, winter-y sky (Tumbled Glass, Chipped Sapphire, Wilted Violet and Salty Ocean).

Once it was dry, I used a falling snow stencil and some embossing paste to create the puffed up circles of snow! so FUN!!
i stamped the penguin from Snow Cool onto some white woodgrain paper! i used that same paper for the snow hills, which were die cut using the Stitched Hillside Borders

i heat embossed the sentiment from the new Merry Messages, and placed it on the edge of the scene! a little unexpected, but fun, right?

so that's my projectare you ready to play along?

so excited! it's a Lawnscaping Challenge! it's a new week! what's not to love about today?

oh puns...there's not much i love more in this world than a good pun!! so this challenge makes me HAPPY!! ha ha!!

Lawn Fawn has a bunch of puns in their stamp sets, and i LOVE them all! but i decided to make my own with my all time favorite letter stamp set, Harold's ABC's.

i love it!!
ha ha!! it serioulsy made this song stuck in my head (well just the chorus really, it's all i know! ha!)
i used the cute little ice cream cones from Here's the Scoop and watercolored them with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers!  i fussy cut them out and then popped them up!

the background was made by scribbling some of the light, cool grey onto a piece of old sticker packaging, spritzing with water and pressing onto my card front! once it was dry, i used a small diaganol striped stencil and colore in the lines with the same marker! so easy and fun!

i watercolored the flamingos from Flamingo Together with Distress Markers! and once they were dry, i stamped the triangles from Sharp Backdrops on top of them!! LOVE that!!

next, i added some watercolor in Distress Inks (Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers). LOVE all of those tropical colors together! :)
i added the woodgrain pattern from Woodgrain Backdrops to the water to look like waves, and the stars to the sky from Starry Backdrops

i heat embossed the sentiment with white on black cardstock, and then added a strop of black and white patterned washi to the side!

Lawnscaping Challenge #134 - Rainbow!

so excited! it's a Lawnscaping Challenge! it's a new week! what's not to love about today?

i am so IN love with rainbows right now! LOVE LOVE LOVE rainbows in all shapes and sizes! ha! so it's safe to say i super puffy heart LOVE this layout! ha! i made this layout as part of a class I'm taking...and i HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend!!! do take it!!

i created a fun layout! i used Distress Inks, and a simple mask that i created by cutting up triangles of different shapes into computer paper! i blended many Distress Inks that i own, and then stamped a billion (ok, maybe it just FELT like a billion! ha!) images in the corresponding colors! then i spritzed some water on top of it all!

i used images from the Starry Backdrops, Woodgrain Backdrops, Loads of Fun and Party Animals to add the character and stamped-ness!

i did a little embellishing, though not much, because that's what the stamping was for! ha!
i created the title with thickers from the Dear Lizzy Snapshots collection, and letter stickers Fancy Pants Wish Season!

i hope i always remember the little pitter patter of my little Menn running down the hall to wake me up on the weekends! who needs sleep when you have love?

this week we're sponsored by lawn fawn! so get your card making on, and you could win a stamp set of your choice! :)
