hi again!
today I have a card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog, and it's bursting with love!

ha!
these cute little kitties are soooo sweet!
I stamped the image from Newton's Sweetheart and then colored it in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once it was dry, I die cut it out using the coordinating dies.

for the background, I used Distress Oxide Inks in Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold and Tattered Rose. then I used the Bokeh Hearts Stencil Set and the same color, but with more pressure, to add the tone on tone texture! so fun!

I heat embossed the sentiment in white onto some black cardstock, and then used the Banner Trio Die Set to die cut it out!
lastly, the image was popped up with foam tape!
Oh yeah! I also used the Meow Stencil to do some black and white pops of contrast on the side!

Sweet Stamp Shop April Release!

i made two cards using sets for this release, and they are just fun and cool! total Sweet Stamp Shop! ha!
my first card used the new Dentist Plans stamp set, which i am in LOVE with!!

it's so crazy that i love this set so much, considering i HATE the dentist!! like...for reals. but look at those sweet little teeth!! eeeee! sooooo cute!!

i colored the main image with copics and then popped it up for some fun! the background has many of the other images from the set stamped in a tone on tone on the kraft background! SO MUCH FUN! ha!

my second card uses the new Muggin' stamp set, and i just KNOW that everyone is going to go crazy for that set!! 

again, i used copics to color the images! i mirror stamped one of the mugs, so the handles were on opposite sides, and then fussy cut them out!

wouldn't this be the CUTEST anniversary card?! ha! in addition to the new set, i also used the ADORABLE  Rules of Love stamp set! :)
i love that light woodgrain paper with the bold black and white washi down the side - so fun!

Newton's Nook Designs May Release - Years of Cheers

it's the most wonderful time of the month! today starts the May release week with Newton's Nook Designs! i just LOVE release weeks!

today, the whole DT is showcasing the new, super adorable and comforting Years of Cheers stamp set!! don't you just LOVE this set? this set is so elegant and perfect for celebrating the good times and milestones in your life! you can totally use this to scrapbook, create a project life type spread, gift tags and, of course, cards! all of the new sets will be available for purchase on May 15th, right here!


for my first card, i was totally channeling the gold theme (like most of my teamies! ha!)

i used some gorgeous gold-ish diagonal striped patterned paper and also spritzed that with some gold color shine! then i heat embossed the sentiment with gold on the doily!

i colored the champagne glasses with copics and added some messy stitching around the sentiment, and top of the card. 
i love the layers and splatters on this wedding or anniversary card!

my 2nd card was really FUN (and a little messy!) to make!

i used mustard seed to add some watercolor to my card base. and once it was dry, i flicked some water on to add the 'bubbles' of champagne! :)

i heat embossed the glasses in white and then created this adorable little banner for the sentiment! 

i heat embossed on some woodgrain paper, and added some soft pink pleating with tissue paper. i also decorated that paper clip by stitching some pink ribbon on top!

sweet stamp shop may release #2!

hello again, lovelies!!

today, the sweet stamp shop is having another may release!!
and it's full or adorableness!! brace yourselves!

the stamp set i worked with is balloons, and it's PERFECT!

see? perfect balloons!

i loved it so much i made three cards withit!

for my first card, i just HAD to make the octopus hanging from the balloons!! i don't know why, ha ha! it just came to me!

i love it!!
silly octopus! i colored all of the images with copics and popped them up!

i even distressed the edges of the cloud patterned paper for a more vintage feel! and the sentiment is from the alpha tabs stamp set!

my next card is pretty and subtle! :)

i stamped the hearts in the wet cement hero arts ink for a light grey look, directly onto the cardstock.
then i used the block image of the heart balloon to fill in the color, slightly offset, with tattered rose distress ink. i even tried to add a little bit of shading with the pink to just the bottom of the balloons! :)

the sentiment was stitched using the elegant sentiments stamp set! so FUN! i also added the word 'anniversary' from the just the basics stamp set! perfect match!

after a little distressing to the edges of the papers, that was it!

and lastly, i used the elegant sentiments stamp set again with the balloons (they just work so well together!) and just the filled in circle balloon image!

i stamped the balloon image three times each in yellow, pink and orange distress inks. i thought the colors were way to bright, for what i was looking for this time, so i sprayed the card with water, and WOAH!! yes! love it!

i LOVE that the colors blend into each other!
and the grey sentiment is bold enough to stand out over the colors, but doesn't take over the card. so pretty!

an anniversary card

good morning!
and what a beautiful morning it is here! *mostly because it's friday!!* ahhh, friday! i'm one day away from my little menn letting me sleep in until 8:30 or 9...i can't wait!

today i have a card to share that i made for the current little tangles challenge! 

decorating inside the card is not something i do often! most of the time, i just forget! so this was a nice little way to get me into that groove again! :)

i used the you + me stamp set from neat and tangled for both the outside and inside! love that set!! you can use the already made sentiments or combine all of them to make your own - which is what i did! and i think it's a perfect anniversary card!

i stamped the open heart image onto some striped vellum and then overlapped them, which i think is really sweet!
then i stamped the heart image onto white cardstock, placed it in the corner, and stamped part of the sentiment. then i popped up that heart and added a heavy coat of glossy accents! 

inside the card, i stamped the sentiment and then surrounded the sentiment with the arrow image! i just mased on either half to encomass it all. i think it's so sweet! then i used the closed in heart to add a subtle clear embossed heart to the sentiment. :)

so that's it!

what a pear!

so, at the end of this month, one of my best friends will be married to her sweetie for 5 years! how amazing for them! in honor of that, i made this very special anniversary card! but before i go any further, can i just say, (and i know this is cliche) time goes by so fast!!! they have been through so much together (already!), i know this is just the tip of the iceberg for them!

anyway, i made this card for the latest color challenge at off the wall craftiness! the colors this week were purple, black and green! now you may or may not know...but the bain of crafting existence is the color purple. i'm not a fan. i appreciate it on other people's crafts, don't get me wrong!! i am just not inspired with the color. alas, it's the bestie's favorite color, so i work with what i have, right!

here's my card:

their wedding colors were purple and silver, so i wanted to incorporate that (with the diagonal stripes) for sure. the bottom layer of the card was my real jump starter for this card. it had purples and greens and i thought, 'yeah, i can work with that'. ha ha! i decided to layer two ribbons (the thick white and the thin green) to continue with a 'double theme'.

the stamps are lawn fawn of course! and i embossed the sentiment in black (i love embossing!) and paper pieced the pears! :)

so that's that! i'm actually quite proud of this 'purple' card! :)

off the wall card

here's another challenge i tried - it's for off the wall craftiness and it's challenge 19: using the colors soft pink, pale green and a creamy color. the inspiration photo is below:

the first thing that came to my mind was my wedding! those were exactly our colors! i had a pale green bow on my dress and all the flowers were pink! :) so anyway, it just so happens that our 5th wedding anniversary is coming up in september, so i knew this would be a perfect time to make our anniversary card!

it's a little different than your average card: i used a photo from our wedding (you can even see the challenge colors in there as well). other than that, it's a pretty simple card, with a lot of heart.
