More Little Bees...
Not sure where I was headed with this card...but I like it, and find it kind of quirky :o).
The colours are: Basic Black and So Saffron. The stamps are from the SAB 2008 set Merci. I've watercoloured the bees on Watercolour Paper, using Watercolour Wonder Crayons and an Aquapainter. The flowers in the background are stamped in Very Vanilla Craft Ink. The ribbon is Very Vanilla 5/8 inch Grosgrain and Black Gingham. There are Dimensionals under the small Basic Black layer.

Hello Little Bees...
My cardmaking mojo has decided to take a small vacation. It has gone to Venice. I believe that it is currently gondola-ing around the Grand Canal, licking a strawberry gelato, and listening to its gondolier serenade it. Lucky thing! I am, however, not in Venice. I don't even have any strawberry gelato on hand that I could pretend with. Spaghetti Bolognaise for dinner may well be the closest I will get to Italy for the next decade or so...woe is me ;-).
Anyway, left mojo-less...this card is all I could come up with.
I'm not pleased. It is the second card today, and the first was even less inspiring to me. What gives? I do wish that I had the SU photo corner punch. I am convinced that this is what the card needs, some photo corners on the Brocade Blue layer. But who knows? My mojo would...when I find out what name it is travelling under (not mine because my passport is still here), I am going to track it down, call it up, and give it a darn good speaking to! AND, if it is staying at the Gritti Palace on my Credit Card it is going to get a walloping when it gets home.
The colours are: Chocolate Chip, Brocade Blue, Very Vanilla and Pumpkin Pie. The stamp set is the SAB 2008 set Merci. The background has been stamped using Versamark and one of the dotty stamps from...Itty Bitty Backgrounds. The flowers on the Brocade Blue layer have been stamped in Brocade Blue and coloured in using an Aquapainter and more Brocade Blue ink. I've used the white gel pen to make some flower centres. This layer is mounted on Dimensionals, and has been distressed along the edges.
The Very Vanilla layer is also mounted on Dimensionals. The brads are the brass coloured ones in the vintage set. The large chocolate chip squares are mounted on Dimensionals, and were punched out using the large square punch. The bees have been stamped using Stazon, on squares of Watercolour Paper, punched out using the small square punch. I've coloured in the bees using and Aquapainter and Classic ink, picked up from the lid, in Pumpkin Pie and Basic Brown.
I desperately wanted to use some ribbon, ribbon is my friend! I had seven rolls out on the desk by the end, all in various stages of disarray, but do you think I could find anything that worked? Nope, nothing, nada! So there you have it...Hello Little Bees!
Sam.

More Merci...
We watched The Bourne Ultimatum on DVD last night, by the time it was finished it was only about an hour or so to go until the midnight fireworks were televised from Sydney Harbour (my old home town). So, I decided to stay up and watch them, and to make a card while I was waiting. It sounded like the rest of southern Canberra was awake and some were up to mischief too. I heard at least three very loud detonations...that did not sound like fireworks to me!
But I digress. This is the card that I made:
The colours are Chocolate Chip, Marigold Morning and Rose Red. The stamps are from Merci, a Sale-A-Bration 2008 set. I have also used the Happy Birthday from the Warmest Regards Level 1 Hostess set and the Paisley background stamp.
The smallest Rose Red layer is mounted on Dimensionals, as is the smallest Marigold Morning layer and the Watercolour paper. I have stamped the butterfly in Basic Brown ink on the Watercolour paper and then coloured using Classic Ink and an Aquapainter. The Basic Brown ink did not run at all! Again, the ribbon and brads are a gift from a friend in the US...and are not available here.
I am really pleased with how this one turned out...and have an upcoming birthday that it will do very nicely for :-).

Merci: Sale-A-Bration 2008
This little card looked like it would be nice for Valentine's Day. The colours used are Ballet Blue, Ruby Red and Summer Sun. The flower and heart stamps are from the Merci SAB set. The 'With All My Heart' sentiment is from the Lots of Thoughts SAB set. On the background I have stamped the flower in Ballet Blue Classic Ink, then I have added a dab of Two-Way Glue Stick to each of the flower petals and sprinkled on some Dazzling Diamonds. The Ruby Red layer is mounted on Dimensionals. The Summer Sun layer has been wheeled in Marigold Morning ink using the Speckled jumbo wheel. The brads in the corners are Ballet Blue.
The next layer is Watercolour Paper. It is also mounted on Dimensionals. I have used Black Stazon to stamp on this layer. The central image has been coloured using Ballet Blue, Ruby Red and Summer Sun Watercolour Wonder Crayons and an Aquapainter. I have dabbed Two-Way Glue over the flower centre and applied Dazzling Diamonds here too! And that's it :-)
