Painted barn....
For the Barn Collective I am using some photos from 2012....
We were coming home from visiting Lorelei when she lived in Indianapolis and decided to take a detour. Imagine my surprise when we came across this beauty.
I have always planned to go back and see how it survives but have yet to go.
Someone really put a lot of work into this barn.
I hope you enjoy it half as much as I did.

Wide open spaces....
I had to give you two versions....I wonder which you like best and why.
Me? I cannot choose. But if forced, I would lean towards the B&W.

A favorite shot...
I used to like to experiment with photographing things at night. This is from one of those nights...it is a local funeral home.

Photos from the past....
I should have tried to manipulate this photo, but did not think of it. I just like the way it shows the size in comparison to the trees.
This shot is a tad blurry but the best I could do taken from the passenger side almost directly to the side. The top photo is from a moving vehicle, too, but more a straight on shot.

Tennessee Barns from October...
For the Barn Collective, I am showing a few snapshots from Tennessee...
This one was down in a valley, and this is the best I could do.
Not fantastic shots, but still they work for me.
Above is not a barn, but an outbuilding or shed.

Bringing a bright spot to your day...
I just happened on this...cannot resist posting it. It makes me happy inside just to see it. I did not photograph a single sunflower this past summer.

It continues to disintigrate...
I have posted photos of this barn several times before but for the life of me I cannot find a single one of them...
These were taken this summer..
And this one is up in that area...just a few miles away. I would love to get out on a ramble and go up there and see what is left of the first photo.

Lucky shot...
This butterfly was not still a second, or barely if it was so how this photo turned out as good as it did is more than I will ever know....

Something so beautiful...
As most of you know, I had a bad fall in February, 3 breaks in the ankle area, complicated by fracture blisters. It was May before I was allowed to put any weight at all on that foot/leg.
Our front steps do not have a handrail...it was on Roger's to-do list when he had his stroke 2 1/2 years ago. So that was not done.
I went out to get the mail and saw this leave laying in the yard...I think it was responsible for me finally having the nerve to go down those steps for the first time. I had to have a photo of it, so in I came and got my camera and managed to get down the steps.
As far as steps, go, it is still slow going. But I can do it...

Barns of Parke County
We pass this barn several times a year...it is near Bridgeton, Indiana
This is the same barn, taken from a different spot...
This barn is just a little way from the first barn...I am pretty sure they are within view of each other.

An old beauty
We came out of Menard's a while back and saw this beauty.
It was close quarters to try to get any decent shots, but I did the best I could.
Don't you just love old cars? So much class...

Shelly Belle's
Roger and I went to Tennessee in October...there are 5 of us girls that went through elementary and high school...my one friend went to Pennsylvania and I came to Indiana...she has been home before but I wasn't there at the same time. This was the first time we had seen each other since high school! Anyway, us five girls met there and ate and caught up with each other. It was as if we had never been apart.

Bald Eagle
I saw this guy back in September in Terre Haute. Actually I was going down the last street on the west side and spotted him. I quickly pulled off the road into the empty lot, and walked fairly close to him. Or her. It was misting rain...I have worked with the photo a bit to try to improve it. And it is cropped from the original.

Things are really looking up
First of all, I had a couple comments asking how I was doing, but did not see them till this week. I had every intention of replying either by this post, or by responding on your blog. I am so sorry I did not get it done till now. I had heard something about no notifications when we get comments, but had not thought of it in relation to my blog since I had not posted...I just happened to go there and find them.
Anyway, nothing like a little bling...actually they are the only flip-flops I have found that fits. I am now walking without the boot but with a cane...and every evening there is a spell where I am walking around the house without the cane even. I have some wonderful therapists that have got me this far.
And look! The wound is almost entirely healed. The wound care doctor thinks this coming Tuesday might be my last day to have to go to him. Just want to post this while I have a minute...I hope all of you are having a good summer. The heat and humidity here really gets to me. But still happy to be walking, even if with a cane.

Not missing the cold...
I know before too long, we will be longing for a little bit of coolness, but for right now, I am glad we are not seeing this.
These photos were from back in January...I don't think I have posted them...
