Hiding something ?

hello ladies,

do you sometimes also go a little overboard when you see something in your favorite craft store on sale or clearance?

Well I do… I don’t know how many of these little wooden boxes I picked up maybe a couple years ago at Michaels found in the $1 bin marked down to 50 cents.  Ever since I had to drag them around in my craft room pewh..

Back then I made a few boxes to give Christmas gifts away, this time I made one for Valentines. This time around I just painted the entire box with white Gesso and embossed with Frantage. So much easier and less mess than spritzing them with Tattered Angles Glitter spray. The black elastic band the box came with was replaced with a (NEW daaahhh of course ) white hair elastic I had in my vanity. The box turned out pretty cute and vintage. I did sent this box to Sweden including some yummy chocolates.

SMASH!

Hi there, today I would like to show you a SMASH book I decorated for dear Debbie.
She asked me if I could make her something to give for a raffle at her local school.

Claudia_Rosa_Smash_1_re

After we talked about different things we thought a SMASH book would be something nice and modern which appeals not only for young girls but also for adults. The length of the book is 11.5 inches… really long in scale for the regular sized rubberstamps I went with one of Krista's digital stamps which allowed me to print my favorite out in the size I needed it to be.
The final size is 6.5 inches for “Copica” (I liked 7 inches as well).

To cover the book I used papers of Angie’s new paper line “Fruit Basket”. They coordinate so well with each other. The purple Design Paper is one side and than on the opposite side is the red/white polka dot side. The green patterned paper was added from a second sheet.

I Heart "Love Songs"

Hello and a wonderful start into a new week. I have had not much time to work on cards so i was so happy to read a email from my friend Kristine telling me that we can now show our projects that were published in "Ett Trykk" a wonderful card magazine from Norway. This little CD holder was made using a tin that i got in the mail from AOL and i altered it with some ribbons and a doily lace napking recieved through Magnolia.
How cute would this be to make one not for songs but also to sent some pictures of the kids for grandparents?

Last Valentines Gift for this year

Hello and happy Valentines Day. I have altered this box for sweet Agnes. Unfortunately it has not arrived yet but i was kind of lazy the past days so i did not have a lot to show for my blog AND :-) it is kind of the last day anyways were you can post Valentines gifts, right? uh i hope this counds as an excuse for spoiling the surprise lol. I used this empty tin and altered it with some scrap papers and ribbons. I filled the box not only with chocolate.. there are some other cute things in there that a card maker loves :-) The stamps used on this project are from the new Magnolia Love Collection and the cupcakes are can be found in a 2007 Collection. I don't know where exactly because one of my friends from a yahoo Group stamped them for me.
Thank you Agnes for the wonderful awards!!

One For The Boys ....

Hello and happy Tuesday :-) I have started with some quick and inexpensive gift ideas for the kids in Kindergarten. First let me show you this decorated bag that i will give for the boys in Lucas class. Isn't this bear adorable? He is from one of the very new Valentines set that Alota has now. I think he is so cute for all sorts of cards or projects and the best is, he is super easy to cut out :-) this set includes also some very useful sentiments. Alota Rubberstamps has also a sale going on (25% off selected stamps) now through the 18th. You might want to check those stamps out.

Magnolia Chocolate Bar Wrapper & Card

Hi, thank you for peeking in today!!! Remember that i told you yesterday that for the CCT Challenge "what have you had for Christmas" i had to think constantly about all the foods we ate lol. So here it is now.. taaataaa... The hudge altered extra large "Milka" Chocolate bar which Christina Carstensen sent me along with 2 hudge boxes of homemade delicous cookies. hmmm sooo yummy :-)
The sleeve was decorated using the fabulous sketch Kristine has provided for us to follow over on the Friday Sketcher blog. Since it was a long sketch format i thought that could work with the bar. The ribbons are stings from the new Raspberry Ribbon kit i used 3 different kinds here, once you have tied the bow, the bar that's inside just slides easily in and out. The bows always stay pretty much on the same spot once you move the bar in and out. Super fun and cute.
Since the slider was fairly quick and simple so i used the rest of the Designer Paper to create a small gift card to use with the candy. The card "works" in the same system as the slider. If you pull where the white bow is - the insert slides in and out. The pictures are really bad.. i finished these things up late and they are kind of blueish.. so the yellow airbrushing behind the daisy does not show nor the pretty glitter that's added to the flower petals and onto the wings of the punched out butterflies.
The inside of the panel is stamped with my Grunge set that Kristine gave me for Christmas.
If you want to recreate the card to try the slider system you could try with these measurements: use 1 sheet of 8.5 x 11 CS, cut CS to 5 x 11, score @ 5 and 10, leaving you a 1 inch flap, add to this flap tacky tape and close your card. Create the insert by cutting your CS to 5 and 4 7/8. Decorate your insert keeping in mind that your ribbon will wrap horizontal over the panel. I have used Organdy ribbon so my Sentiment is still good to read.
Recipe:
Stamps: Magnolia for girl and flower (Valentines 2008 and Jingle Jangle 2008), Sentiment: Stampin up"The flight of the butterfly", Grunge Set
Embellishments: Ribbons by Raspberry Ribbons, Stickles, Robins Nest
DP/CS: Cloud 9 Design, So Saffron, Pixie Pink
Tools: Martha Stewart: Monarch Butterfly, Heart Lace Border Punch, Crop a Dile, Stampin up Corner Rounder

I would also love to sent you to some ladies blogs who have some great blog candy up at the moment but iam sure iam not telling you anything new cause those girls well known in the stamping world due to their outstanding work. There is Lim, Rach and my friend Michelle you should visit!
I have been awarded by Cheryl Richter and my friend Carole with this wonderful award. Herzlichen Dank liebe Cheryl and Carole!!!

Magnolia Card Inspiration Book

Hello and good morning ... well here in Michigan it is morning. :-) Today i would love to show you a Christmas present that my dear friend Tina B. made for me. I was really touched by all her presents... not only does she ALWAYS think about my boys - she makes always the most beautiful artwork for me! Now you have to know Tina is very sick - she has bad Arthritis and has not been able to do anything crafty for a long time. Now can you imagine how surprised i was when i opened the wrapping paper and saw this book!!! All the ribbons and the other elements ... how difficult and painful must it have been for her!? I am truly touched by it. Thank you so much dear friend! I will treasure this forever and it will be definitely used for card sketches and tutorials. Hugs and love

Thank you so much Tina - i absolutely love your presents and the boys do too lol :-)

Pretty Pressings Candy

Hi, i make it short today because unlike than usually i have plenty of pictures of the prize i have prepared for one winner of the big Pretty Pressings Anniversary blog candy.
The winner will get this card and the altered box below. Inside of the box are several pieces of Hardware from the Stampin up Hardware boxes in all 3 colors (brass, antique and silver) those pieces are not available anymore. Most of them you have seen on my cards before.. i really love them and i have purchased several boxes before they got retired.
Stamps used on the card: Sarah Kay by STAMPAVIE
Sentiment by Stampin up
Stamp: Sarah Kay by STAMPAVIE

The reason why i have multiple pictures up today is also, that you can see all the new ribbons you will get with the new Raspberry ribbon kit (here you can see the gold and brown grosgrain one and at the front image the narrow brown one). I hid the ends of the string with decorative brads (cut the pongs first off and glued them down)
and finally the hardware and some matching Prima Flowers.
some may recognize the tin.. it is usually kind of like a turquoise blue - i spray painted the tin first with metal gold and than added the K&Company paper to the top and glued the ribbons on.
Come and see tomorrow what Alota Rubberstamps has sponsored and than on Wednesday i will tell you what you can do to win the prize.
Thanks for swinging by!
xxx Claudia

Take A Note

This little post-it holder is made with the Raspberry Ribbon kit for next month. Hope you will like it. I have one more card to show using all the wonderful ribbons you will get.

This project is pretty much self explaining, right? The only thing you might want to know is how i made the chipboards so white. I used first my Stampin up white craft pad but it did not give me enough coverage so on top of that i sprinkled white Detail embossing powder and embossed right on the chipboard. Worked out fine.
The back was decorated fast but i simply did not want to leave it plain.

Magnolia stamp: Raspberry Ribbons and Chipboards, Serenic Route, EK Retro flower Punch, 7 Gypsies jump ring, Making Memories rub-ons
and the wonderful gems are sent to me by my friend Carole!!
Thanks for dropping me a line today, i would love to read from you once iam back. Thank you!

Fathersday Pocket card

Many of you know how much i love to give cards with pictures as presents. This card was made for my husband using a card style i made already last year. This time i just blew the dimensions up so this card is about 5.5 inches.

If you like to look i have posted this week an other - same style card on my second blog.

This is the card i made 2007 for my mother. The template for the smaller version was posted in my SCS Gallerie: ClaudiafromGermany

Box with Fotos

This is my "project" i had to make for Rasberry Ribbons. Caroline sent 3 of these fabulous clear tags with the ribbon kit. She gave us free hand on how we can incooperate it in our work. I knew i would make this lovely oval box. I thought this is a nice present for my mother-in-law when we visit her in June. One side of the ovals holds pictures from Niklas and on the other side is Lucas. The swirls were sent to me by my dear friend Donalda (Thank you.. i really love them!)

DP: Making Memories
Accessories and Tools: Tag and Ribbon "Rasberry Ribbon June Kit", Sticky Strip, Coluzzle® Cutting System
Stamps: Stampin up "Define your life"
I do not post a step-by-step picture tutorial on how to make the box but i can share the instructions i got from my Demo. It was a hand out sheet she gave us. This box was shown last year during i believe Leadership meeting.
Directions Box
1. Cut four ovals from upper corner of stamped Chocolate Chip (patterend paper 1) card stock using 3-1/4" oval template from Coluzzle.
2. Cut four ovals from unstamped Chocolate Chip (patterned paper 2) card stock using 3-1/4" oval template.
3. From stamped edge of card stock, cut one 2-1/2" x 12" strip and one 1-1/4" x 12" strip. Score each strip of card stock along long side at 1/4".
4. Place Sticky Strip between edge and 1/4" score line of each strip.
(The Sticky Strip goes on stamped side of 2-1/2" strip and on back of 1-1/4" strip.)
5. Cut notches along the edges with Sticky Strip.
(This will make strips curve easier.)
6. Adhere each card stock strip to an unstamped oval, curving it to fit oval. The 2-1/2" strip goes on top, inside the oval, and the seam of the 1-1/4" strip goes on the outside of the oval. Adhere the two ends of strip using Sticky Strip.
7. Adhere ribbon to box, top and bottom.
8. Adhere an unstamped oval to the inside bottom of box to hide the seam. Adhere a stamped oval to the inside lid to hide the seam.

Instructions: Accordion album
1. Score a 12" x 12" piece of Designer Series paper every 2-5/8". Fold back and forth accordion style along score lines.
2. Place 2-3/4" oval template on paper, overlapping fold lines so ovals will be connected, and cut. Repeat, and adhere several strips together until you have the desired number of pages

Girls Birthday Party Favor Baggie

Here is my sample for belows Tutorial.
I put in my bag a cello baggie filled with Jelly Beans. It looks really nice cause the beans repeat the colors of the Daisy D Designer Paper.
I used Magnolias new line of Daisy D patterend paper. I love it - simply because it is sooo colorful and it gives you many possibilities to go bold with all your colors. See the nice cloud pattern on the inside? you can use this as a backdrop for your magnolia szene cards!
All supplies are provided by Magnolia (except the ribbon and the sentiment thats a Level 1 Stampin up Set - Still current)

Flower Petal Card

I had to make a "Sorry" card for something I did :-) no more details :-)
I used my new Magnolia Tilda... she is prefect for a "Sorry-card" the way she is holding the flower and looks at you... I love to color in the little swinging dresses of all my Magnolia girls. I used reinkers and Twinkeling H2O's mostly on the flowers cause i do not have a matching paint for the dress. Note to myself.. need more paint :-)
High Hopes: Daisy Flower Border
Sentiment: Stampin up (Fancy Flexible Phrases)
Stampin up: Almost Amethyst, Marigold Morning (retiered)
Embellishments/Tools: Stampin up stiching kit, circle punches, celery and apricot ribbon,
Coloring: Pebbles Shimmery Chalks, Stampin up re-inker, Twinkeling H2O, White Gel Pen
Template for the flower can be found here

Baby Alwin

Have you had a chance to try the double pocket card yet? Well... here is the second style you can try with these folds (see bottom). Make a card that actually opens AND gives you the 2 pockets.
I thought this kind of card is so cute for baby cards, gift cards or any kind of invitations. You could add baby's name on one tag on the second tag the birth dates and inside is still space for a cute picture of the newborn and a poem. How neat is this if you have a dinner party - you could add the menue on one tag and a map on the second tag and inside is still space to write.
Can you tell....??? LOVE this card.

Anyhow.. for this card I used Magnolias new "sitting Alwin" , you can find him at Magnolias site under: Spring/Summer 2008, first page. The is also cute Tingla to make baby girl cards - you have to check them out! Stars were Alwin is sitting on are punched out with SU large star punch (Barely Banana CS) and covered with Dazzeling Diamond Dust to make them sparkely :-)

CS/Designer Paper: Stampin Up: Afternoon Tea, Chocolate Chip, White, Barely Banana for stars
Tools: Stampin up: piercing template, large oval punch, large star punch, Nestabilities large ovals (plain and scalloped), Tags are made with Cuttlebug "Red Tag Sale" Alphabet
Embellishments: Soft Sky double stiched ribbon, Dazzeling Diamond Dust, silver Hodgepodge/hardware
Stamps: Magnolia "Alwin" and Stampin up for sentiments (retiered Level 1 Hostess)

Make the "Double Pocket Card" open style with this tutorial and change folding with these instructions:
