WMR: Sandy's Florida backlash may doom Romney's chances to win Sunshine State

Many polls show Florida as a neck-and-neck race between President Obama and Mitt Romney. However, Sandy may have changed the political dynamic.

Although Sandy only delivered a glancing blow to the Sunshine State, the political back winds may hurt Romney in a way that political pundits and pollsters could have never imagined.

The threat to Social Security and Medicare by Romney's and his running mate Paul Ryan's budget slashing proposals had already spooked Florida's retirees long before Halloween. 

But Sandy has tossed a ringer into the political mix. A number of retirees in Florida left their children and grandchildren New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut. 

Even the most ardent Romney supporters among Florida's retirees from the Northeast are now expressing concerns about Romney's lackluster support for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the federal small business loans and grants and how Romney's and Ryan's budget slashing plans may adversely their kids' and grand kids' chances to recover from Sandy.

Preliminary estimates of damage from Sandy now hover around $30 billion and is expected to increase. A number of Romney's and Ryan's congressional supporters have already stated that federal assistance to Sandy's victims should be tied to budget cuts in other areas. 

In essence, if there are no cuts in areas like Medicare or Obamacare, there will be no funds budgeted for the Northeast's evacuees who now find themselves homeless, and that includes the families of a number of Florida's retirees. 

Florida retirees saw Romney's lame attempt at storm relief by sending staffers to an Ohio Wal-Mart to buy $5000 worth of canned soup, potato chips, and packages of socks to send to New Jersey as a political stunt.

When it comes down to either supporting Republicans or ensuring their children and grandchildren get the most the federal government has to offer, retirees from the Northeast who live in the gated communities of Florida and even along South Carolina's "Golf Coast" around Myrtle Beach, will opt for their families and will discard the propaganda of Karl Rove's billionaire-funded political action committees and the Tea Party "know-nothing" wing of the GOP.

The Republican election fraud machine has the mathematical algorithms set for a close election in Florida and other states. 

However, if retired solid or likely Republican voters swing to the Democratic column at the last minute to help their families in the Northeast, the algorithms won't be able to handle the sudden fluctuation without the danger of discovery by election monitors.

Pollsters, who are no longer independent but tied to corporate machinery, have no provision or interest in polling Romney voters likely to switch to Obama purely to protect their families in the Northeast. 

For people like Rove and Romney, who push family values, it will come as a complete shock when Romney voters justify changing their votes at the last minute because of their own commitment to "family values." 

There is a Romney cross-over vote for Obama in Florida purely due to Sandy. The pollsters and talking head pundits will ignore this fact.

WMR: Background on the Israeli penetration of NSA

In June 2005, WMR's first report at its inception dealt with Israeli intelligence penetration of the National Security Agency. 

Our friend and colleague Jim Bamford has written about further details of this penetration in an April 3 article in Wired titled "Shady Companies With Ties to Israel Wiretap the U.S. for the NSA."  

The Signals Intelligence Automation Research Center 

In the article, Bamford describes the penetration of NSA's ultra-secret surveillance technology research and development "skunk works," the Signals Intelligence Automation Research Center (SARC), located at NSA's headquarters on the third floor of Operations Building 2B, a few doors down from the center where NSA monitored sensitive government communications in Russia.

The SARC is where companies linked to Israel helped set up NSA's controversial and top secret warrantless eavesdropping program code-named Stellar Wind. 

SARC's chief of staff, J. Kirk Wiebe, and the center's co-founded, Bill Binney, realized that a private company with links to Israel, Technology Development Corporation (TDC). 

This was a two-man operation with an Annapolis Junction post office box run by two brothers, Randall and Paul Jacobson of Clarksville, Maryland.

The man ran the Stellar Wind operation using software and equipment provided by two Israeli firms, Narus, later bought by Boeing, and Verint, owned by Comverse Technology, formerly Comverse Infosys. 

Both companies were formed by ex-Unit 8200 personnel. Unit 8200 is the Israeli counterpart of NSA. 

The NSA program manager for Stellar Wind was Ben Gunn, a U.S. naturalized Scotsman who once worked for Britain's NSA equivalent, the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) in Cheltenham, UK.

Rather than investigate the Jacobsons, Gunn and their Israeli interlocutors, FBI agents raided the homes of Wiebe and Binney and confiscated their computer equipment as part of the failed Justice Department investigation of former NSA official Thomas Drake, the whistle blower who exposed massive contract fraud and illegal surveillance by NSA.
Paul Jacobson had his security access pulled by NSA in 1992 and he later changed his name to "Jimmy Carter" and "Alfred Olympus von Ronsdorf." 

Randall Jacobson continued working for NSA and when Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) was brought in to run the nascent Stellar Wind program, taking over from TDC.

NSA eavesdropping on US telecommunications

Randall Jacobson tipped Binney off to the illegal nature of the eavesdropping program, which included installing wiretapping rooms in some 20 telecommunications company switches around the United States.

Former AT&T technician Mark Klein outed one that was installed at the AT&T switch in downtown San Francisco.

Binney told Bamford that the NSA's advanced eavesdropping and data mining high-data analytical software may have been originally passed to Israel by a pro-Israeli technical director in NSA's Operations Directorate. 

The original software helped Narus and Comverse/Verint to improve on the work already performed by NSA and more advanced systems were then sold back to the NSA. 

The major compromise of NSA technology to the Israelis should have been made known to Binney, who was then the chairman of the NSA's Technology Advisory Panel, which monitored the signals intelligence capabilities of foreign nations. 

Rather than pass on to NSA the intelligence "take" of Unit 8200 using the NSA technology, Binney told Bamford that he believed that the Israeli government simply passed on the technology to Israeli start-up companies that used the NSA-developed know-how to spy on foreign countries, including the United States, and sell the technology back to countries like the United States.

The Israeli penetration of NSA was brought to WMR's attention by NSA personnel in June 2005. One of the firms mentioned as being involved in the compromise to Israel was CACI, part of an alliance of NSA contractors called the "Eagle Alliance." 

WMR reported: "CACI, called 'Colonels and Captains, Inc.' by critics who cite the revolving door from the Pentagon to its corporate office suites.  One example is former NSA Deputy Director Barbara McNamara as a member of its board of directors. 

Other CACI alumni include Thomas McDermott, a former NSA Deputy Director for Information Systems Security. Former NSA Director Adm. Mike McConnell is a Senior Vice President of Booz Allen. Former NSA Director General Ken Minihan is President of the Security Affairs Support Association (SASA), an intelligence business development association that includes Boeing, Booz Allen, CACI, CSC, the Eagle Alliance, General Dynamics, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, SAIC, and Windemere, all GROUNDBREAKER and TRAILBLAZER contractors, among its membership. 

SASA's board of directors (surprise, surprise) includes CACI's Barbara McNamara. One of SASA's distinguished advisers is none other than General Hayden. 

Although contractors are required to have the same high level security clearances as government personnel at NSA, there are close connections between some NSA contractors and countries with hostile intelligence services. 

For example, CACI's president and CEO visited Israel in early 2004 and received the Albert Einstein Technology Award at ceremony in Jerusalem attended by Likud Party Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz. 

The special ceremony honoring CACI's president was sponsored by the Aish HaTorah Yeshiva Fund. The ultra-Orthodox United Torah Judaism Party's Jerusalem Mayor, Uri Lupolianski, was also in attendance. 

According to Lebanon's Daily Star, CACI's president also met with notorious racist Israeli retired General Effie Eitam who advocates expelling Palestinians from their lands. The U.S. delegation also included a number of homeland security officials, politicians, and businessmen. CACI has also received research grants from U.S.-Israeli bi-national foundations."

What has some NSA officials worried is that with pro-Israeli neocons now ingrained within the CIA, Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), State Department, and National Security Council, NSA is ripe for penetration by Israeli intelligence. 

Hufffington Post: Ron Paul may have won Maine straw poll

Sam Stein of the Huffington Post provided a snippet from a Ron Paul email:


In Washington County -- where Ron Paul was incredibly strong -- the caucus was delayed until next week just so the votes wouldn’t be reported by the national media today. Of course, their excuse for the delay was "snow." That’s right. A prediction of 3-4 inches -- that turned into nothing more than a dusting -- was enough for a local GOP official to postpone the caucuses just so the results wouldn’t be reported tonight. This is MAINE we’re talking about. The GIRL SCOUTS had an event today in Washington County that wasn’t cancelled! And just the votes of Washington County would have been enough to put us over the top.

Mittens "won" the Maine non-binding straw poll by 194 votes.

Rightardia suspects that it will be announced Monday that Ron Paul actually won.

This is a repeat of Iowa where initially it was announced that Mittens won but the official tally gave the win to Rick Santorum. The state GOP chairperson resigned after the Iowa caucuses. So did the Nevada chair after its recent caucuses.

Wayne Madsen had one of his people at CPAC and noticed that Mitt Romney's name rarely came up at the lightly attended convention that finished up in a ballroom.

The CPAC straw poll is also suspect because the Romney team allegedly bought a lot of tickets that gave them extra votes in the CPAC straw poll.

The public may now understand why the GOP has been passing voting laws that suppress voting. 


The GOP knows about all of the dirty electoral  tricks in polls and caucuses because they have been using them even in their own primaries for years.

WMR: CIA informants inside Occupy Wall Street movement in NYC

In a page taken right out of the FBI's Counter-Intelligence Program (COINTELPRO) and the CIA's domestic spying operations from the 1960s, a handful of long-time CIA operatives have been detected among the key leadership of the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) movement in New York.

The CIA's penetration of OWS comes at the same time that a longtime CIA clandestine services officer, with field experience in Jordan and Pakistan, has been identified as a special assistant to the deputy commissioner of intelligence at the New York Police Department. 

The CIA agent has been assigned to his NYPD duties since July. The stationing of the CIA liaison officer at the NYPD has the approval of CIA director David Petraeus.

Two former CIA officers, David Cohen and Larry Sanchez, helped establish the NYPD's new intelligence division. Sanchez left the NYPD in 2010 while Cohen remains as the Deputy Commissioner for Intelligence. 

After retiring from the CIA but before taking his presenty job, Cohen worked for the "too-big-to-fail" American International Group (AIG), a company with longstanding links to the CIA, particularly in Asia.

This sounds like another abomination that the Patriot Act may allow. In the past, CIA agents could not conduct operations in the US unless foreign nationals were involved.

Does someone in the White House want to kill Wayne Madsen?

In yet another indication that America's democratic experiment is a thing of the past, this editor has received word from a source in a foreign intelligence agency allied with the United States that there has been talk by some within the Obama White House that this editor is under threat. 

What particular stories have inflamed the White House are not known but the warning conveyed by the source, who has connections within the White House, was stark in its directness: "They want to kill you."

It was perfectly clear that the phrase was not being used as a figure of speech.

That this development is being reported on April 4 is even more ironic. On April 4, 1968, Dr. Martin Luther King, Kr. was assassinated in Memphis during his mission to support striking sanitation workers in the city. 

Now, we have our first African-American president and a threat to kill a journalist who is most definitely not one of their favorites has been seriously discussed. 

Of course, muckraking journalists have been under threat before in America. In 1972, columnist and investigative journalist Jack Anderson had ended up very high on President Richard Nixon's infamous "enemies list." 

Anderson had long been a burr under the political saddle of Nixon and the president blamed Anderson for exposing a number of Nixon's corrupt activities, including the exposure in 1956 by Anderson and his boss, Drew Pearson, of a loan from Howard Hughes to Nixon's brother Donald.

 In the years before the Watergate scandal broke but at a time when other various scandals in the Nixon administration began to receive the bulldog-like attention of Anderson, who succeeded Pearson as editor of the "Washington Merry-Go-Round column in 1969, there were serious discussions among Nixon aides Charles Colson and G. Gordon Liddy, as well as the CIA's Dr. Edward Gunn, an expert on poisons, about assassinating the troublesome Anderson.

Scenarios included the use of LSD or poison but Anderson's Mormon religion and the fact that he did not drink ruled out the use of poisons or LSD in his drink. Staging an automobile accident in which Anderson would be incinerated was also an option. Another scenario considered was one which would have appeared to be a random Washington, DC street mugging in which Anderson would be stabbed or have his throat slit. 

The plot to assassinate Anderson came to an abrupt halt as Liddy, Colson, and E. Howard Hunt, who had also been involved in the action against Anderson, were exposed in the May 1972 break-in at the Watergate headquarters of the Democratic National Committee.

Although I have attempted to pattern WMR after Anderson's and Pearson's "Merry-Go-Round" column, I do not have the luxury of newspaper syndicators or a Pulitzer Prize, all of which Anderson could rely on as firewalls between him and those in the White House who wanted to kill him.

I ran the information about the warning from the foreign intelligence source by some African-Americans in Washington who have worked with Obama White House officials. Their response was less than encouraging. The bottom line is that the White House engages in the type of "gangster politics" for which their home base of Chicago has become infamous.

Although I have taken precautions in covering post-genocide Rwanda, child trafficking in Thailand and Cambodia, the "loss" of nuclear weapons at Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota, the gunning down by police of CIA asset Tony Carnaby in Houston, the story of "Washington Madam" Deborah Jeane Palfrey, and BP's activities on the Gulf Coast in the wake of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, and President Obama's and incoming Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel's past activities in Chicago, those measures were temporary and lasted for as long as I was in the field.

However, I have absolutely no desire to constantly be in fear of the type of a White House-directed or -tolerated hit like that discussed by Nixon aides on Anderson who had the benefit of a degree of support from his syndicate and the newspapers who carried his column, which included The Washington Post.

Preliminary plans are being made to continue the investigative journalism of this website from a safer vantage point abroad and in an environment that provides basic protection for press freedom. 

Unfortunately, the United States is no longer a safe place for independent journalists. Today, President Obama kicked off his 2012 presidential campaign in a web video message. Without a Democratic primary challenger, it can be safely assumed that the White House will pull out every arrow in its quiver to suppress negative information about Obama. 

The mere fact that the announcement of Obama's re-election came on the anniversary of the assassination of Dr. King shows that Obama will shamelessly attach himself to the legacy of the much-revered African-American leader with whom he shares no cultural legacy of historical African-Americans with their family histories of slavery in the South and sharecropping. Nor would King, if alive today, approve of any of Obama's pro-war and pro-corporate policies.

With a second Obama term a likelihood, it only makes sense, therefore, that the reporting on the "new America" be conducted from a more secure location.

There is an interesting postscript to this story. Not once, during the eight years of the Bush administration, did I ever receive such a credible and direct threat. 

In fact, after WMR's stories about marital friction between Bush and First Lady Laura Bush received national media attention, there was a communication from a close friend of Mrs. Bush that if I laid off her marital situation, I would be given a major scoop. 

Knowing that no one should ever cut a deal with the Bush family or their friends, I kindly declined the offer. But whereas the Bush White House was prepared to offer a carrot, the Obama administration appears to favor the stick or another lethal weapon of choice.

Anyone who follows Wayne Madsen will know it is very unlikely that he is a Democrat and he is certainly not a Republican. 

He has writtne many fine articles and Rightardia is not surprised at all that some people in the White House don't appreciate him.

Wayne Madsen Reports: America takes to the streets against corporatists and their puppet governors

Last November 24, WMR reported that when the massive anti-corporate protests that swept Iceland, Ireland, Greece, the United Kingdom, France, and other countries.


Keep in mind our report was well in advance of the "Arab Wave" revolt -- would come to the United States, it would be due to a state-by-state economic collapse. 


Based on the worker and student revolts that began in Madison, Wisconsin and are now spreading to Columbus, Ohio; Lansing, Michigan; Tallahassee, Florida, and soon, other states, it now appears that the prognostication of a former top White House economic adviser is coming to pass. 


WMR reported: "A top economic adviser to the Democratic Party, speaking on deep background, told WMR that the domino-like collapse of the economies of Iceland, Greece, Ireland, and, now, possibly Spain, is coming also to the United States. 


One of the triggering mechanisms will be at the end of this month when two million idled workers, now collecting unemployment, will be dropped from the rolls. 


At the end of December, another two million workers will join the ranks of those who have exhausted their unemployment benefits and a total of 4 million Americans will be without unemployment checks and face destitution.


Four million Americans will put financial pressure on municipalities and state governments already facing bankruptcy. 


Unlike Iceland, Ireland, Greece, Portugal, and, to some extent, Spain, which have strong central government control, the United States is a federal republic. 

As such, the collapse of the economy will be state-by-state and begin at the municipality level, according to our source who has contacts within the Obama White House and the Democratic leadership of the Congress."


In Wisconsin, Ohio, Michigan, and Florida, Republican governors elected with Koch Industries and other corporate funding through the Republican Party contrivance known as the "Tea Party," began slashing state budgets at the expense of state employees and students while handing huge tax breaks to corporate fat cats and the super-wealthy.


The corporate media is doing its best to downplay the impact of the first wave of state-by-state revolts across the country. 

It now should come as no surprise why Senator Joe Lieberman, who represents the uber-rich elites of Connecticut towns like Greenwich, Darien, and New Canaan, and his West Virginia colleague, Senator Jay Rockefeller of the American robber-baron clan, backed the idea of an Internet "kill switch."


Just as occurred with the Mubarak regime in Egypt, the oligarchs will cut off Internet and cell phone-based social media communications if they feel that their entrenched interests are threatened by a massive revolt by the American people.


Currently, on the CIA-influenced Google search engine, articles, such as those on labor union websites, linking the events in Madison, Columbus, Lansing, Trenton, and planned protests in other state capitals, are not easy to find. 

Wayne Madsen Reports: US Patriot Act is unconstitutional

The US Congress is moving to renew the USA PATRIOT Act, a controversial anti-terrorism law. 

The major provisions of the bill will expire soon, forcing the Congress to entertain the measure once again. 

Investigative journalist Wayne Madsen explained the "Patriot Act" reminds him of laws Hitler put in place in Germany to destroy the German Constitution and that its policies are clearly unconstitutional.

What about Viktor Bout, the arms dealer?

The global diplomatic and financial connections of some of those accused by the United States of being "sleeper" Russian agents provide important clues about Russia's gathering of intelligence on American manipulation of global financial markets.

U.S. gold manipulation and Israeli diamond smuggling of interest to Russian intelligence collectors. This is understandable because Russia has huge gold and diamond reserves.

One of the accused Russian agents, Cynthia Murphy of Montclair, New Jersey, is reported to have attempted to collect gold market information, via her employment with Morea Financial Services in Manhattan, from a prominent New York financier and client of the firm named Alan Patricof, who also happened to have been the finance chairman for Hillary Clinton's Senate campaigns in New York.

Considering the fact that there is a rift between Secretary of State Clinton and Attorney General Eric Holder over the Russian "spy" take down, there is an indication that there is more of a political angle to the Justice Department's indictments than a criminal one.

In fact, none of the accused Russian agents have been charged with violation of the Espionage Act and the charges only include failing to register as agents for the Russian government pursuant to the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA), money laundering, and the nebulous catch-all charge of "conspiracy."

Another one of the accused agents, Anna Chapman, née Anya Kushchenko, spiralled up the social ladder and developed social relationships with some of London's wealthiest individuals, including billionaire investment manager Vincent Tchenguiz; London socialite Shoshana Dadoun; Wayne Sharpe, the founder and chairman of Bartercard, a barter trading firm; and possibly both Princes William and Harry.

It should be noted that London serves as a major base of operations for some of Putin's most prominent political enemies, all of which, including exiled Russian-Israeli tycoon Boris Berezovsky, are wanted by Russia on criminal charges.

Bartercard was founded in 1991 on Australia's Gold Coast by Sharpe and Andrew Federowsky and Brian Hall and in 2004 it opened up operations in Russia and Cyprus. Operations were expanded to Turkey in 2006 and India and South Africa in 2007.

Anna Chapman's father, Vasily Kushchenko, is a former Soviet KGB officer who operated both as the Russian SVR intelligence chief of station and concurrently as Russian ambassador in Harare, Zimbabwe in 2002.

The New York Post reported that as a teen, Anya Kushchenko's sister, Katya Kushchenko, dated Nathan Joseff, the son of the Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM) at the U.S. embassy in Harare, Lena Joseff.

Zimbabwe is a major transport hub for smuggled diamonds from the Democratic Republic of Congo and Angola that eventually end up in the hands of Israeli brokers and vendors in Tel Aviv, Antwerp, Amsterdam, New York's West 47th Street, and London's Hatton Garden. Again the Russians would be interested in the diamond trade because of its diamond reserves.

Anna Chapman's possible interest in diamond smuggling to finance anti-Putin activities by London's Russian ex-pat tycoons is borne out by the fact that she befriended the head of a large global jewelry firm, according to the Zimbabwe Telegraph. In addition, Anna established, along with her then-husband Alex, a "charity" called Southern Union. The charity, created in 2002, was set up to enable ex-pat Zimbabweans to wire money back to Zimbabwe at competitive rates.

Anna oversaw the transfer of millions of dollars from foreign accounts back to Zimbabwe. Southern Union was established with the financial backing of a wealthy South African who was a friend of Vasily Kushchenko, according to the Zimbabwe Telegraph.

One of Africa's most influential diamond magnates is Russian-Israeli businessman Lev Leviev, who has invested heavily in New York, London, and Prague real estate and makes London his working headquarters. Leviev is a financial backer of illegal Israeli settlements and he has charged those who protest his actions with "anti-Semitism," a favorite canard for those who object to any criticism of Israeli or its deep-pocketed supporters.

Leviev's one-time partner is Russian-Israeli Arkady Gaydamak, an Russian-Israeli and one of Israel's richest men who was convicted in France for weapons smuggling to Angola and who fled Israel for Russia after being convicted of money laundering through Bank Hapaolim along with Italian-Israeli businessman Nahum Galmor.

The Jewish newspaper Forward is also reporting on a link between Anna Chapman and wealthy New Jersey Jewish businessman Michel Bittan. Bittan, a native of Casablanca, Morocco, emigrated to the United States via France and Israel, and became a wealthy real estate magnate . . . According to Forward. The paper also cited Bittan, who has "influential friends," as "at least one Jewish connection" to the Russian spy ring.

Anna Chapman also worked for three months for NetJets Europe, the European branch of the U.S. executive aircraft leasing firm, NetJets. From her position at NetJets, Chapman had insight into the murky world of private jet leasing, which was a central part of the CIA's "extraordinary rendition" program, involving, among others, British nationals kidnapped by the CIA in other countries.

The name was changed to NetJets after it was was purchased by Goldman Sachs executive Richard Santulli in 1984. In 1998, the firm was acquired by Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway and in 2009 . . .

Investigative journalist and RT contributor Wayne Madsen says Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has been working with conservatives in America to undermine Obama, including the claim that the U.S. President was born outside of the country. Netanyahu has been visiting evangelical churches in the US to whip up support for Israel for many years.

Taitz was granted permission in 1981 to leave Moldova and join an uncle who had moved to Israel. One of her mother’s fellow schoolteachers offered to set her up with a software engineer named Yosef Taitz who was visiting from California. On their second date, he proposed, and she accepted. They later got married in Las Vegas.

When the boys were young, she said, she got involved with politics. She got so involved enough with AIPAC that the whole family—with the boys stuffed into fancy suits—attended the organization’s convention in Washington in 2006.

“Targeted assassinations were part of the [US] ‘Defensive Intervention’ program,” says investigative journalist Wayne Madsen, referring to details of an alleged JSOC Assassination Ring revealed by Pentagon officials.

Black covert special operations forces operated in 59 countries and conducted 139 missions. The teams reported to Vice President Dick Cheney through the Joint Special Operations Command. Uzbekistan, Bosnia and the Phillipines were three of the countries the assassination squads operated.
