1 Month Baby Layout - Jamie

Sunday, November 29, 2015

Hi everyone!

Jamie here, and today I would like to share this layout of my youngest daughter Harmony.

The blue butterfly background was cut down to size and then I cut the title out with my silhouette. I placed my 2" wide Coral Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon under the title and put the background title paper on pop dots.

I cut the hearts out and added them in place as well as the little banner. I finished the layout off with a wood veneer heart next to the heart at the bottom and added my journaling in white gel pen. I hope you enjoyed looking at my layout today!

Thanks for stoppin' by and have a wonderful day!

Wedding Card with Velvet Trim by Crystal

Wednesday, March 5, 2014

Hello Ribbons Unlimited friends!
It's Crystal here with a wedding card made with Nylvalour velvet ribbon.  This ribbon has a rich plush feel and it is so luxurious. I am using Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon in  Citron  7/8"...I love this color with grey and since it was so rich feeling I decide to use it as trim on a wedding card!

I will walk you thru how I made this card
I started with 8 1/2" by 4 1/4" card base , I scored it at 5 1/2" next I cut way a 2" by 5 1/2" slice
patience and RU wedding 012
Next I cut two pieces of designer paper (I am using a flocked paper from DCWV La Creme stack).  Cut at 2" by 5 1/4".  My white inside is 5 1/4 " by 4 '.  Cut one piece of the ribbon at 5 1/4"  and one piece at 4 1/2' .  With the 5 1/4" piece of ribbon,  find the center then with a threaded needle gather the center then singe the end of this piece.  For the 4 1/2" piece of ribbon flod both ends to center and over lap a little and then gather center with needle and thread.  Add the designer paper to the outside and inside of the 2 1/4" flap.

To attach my ribbon I used score tape on back of 5 1/4" pc , add the ribbon to top edge of the front flap.

For my hearts and sentiment I cut them with the Silhouette Cameo.  The hearts come standard with your machine (cut at 1.855 x 3.455) and Congrats  (cut  at 1.000 x 2.320 ) I bought in the Silhouette store (links below) .  I so love how small and nice this machine cuts!patience and RU wedding 018
I used my small Xyron machine to add adhesive to my words

I use this adhesive remover eraser to get any gummy extra off the front of the word and the openings.

I want to glitter my hearts and my Xyron it not big enough so add versamark to my hearts and heat n stick  powder and melt with heat tool and add my glitter and it sticks so the glitter and it won't fall off!  Glue on hearts and add the Congrats over them and our card is done!

So Clean and Simple but the Velvet ribbon really makes so luxurious!
The crystal button is from my stash of vintage buttons.

Gift Wrapping with Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon

Wednesday, December 25, 2013

Merry Christmas!  Jamie with you today and like most of you I have been busy shopping and wrapping!

I love to have a variety of boxes and bags ready for the Holidays to hide gifts in so that they aren't obvious as to what is in them…yes, I am one of those that will wrap the smallest present in the largest box (or boxes!) just to keep the kids guessing!  This year I created over-sized Pillow Boxes to help me conceal gifts!

For this large pillow box, I used the 7/8" Kiwi Nylvalour Velvet Ribbon.  This high quality, Swiss velvet ribbon comes in widths from 3/16 to 2" in all colors. Wider widths available in black. It is a true velvet, not a flocked velvet. We also carry stretch velvet ribbon and double face velvet ribbon for special orders. Contact us if you are interested!

Wishing you and yours a safe and happy Holiday!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

Creating a Pinstripe Background with Christine

Wednesday, August 7, 2013

Christine blogging with you today!  Here's one fun technique you can give a whirl: create a background with your ribbon.  For my card today I created a background using the velvet ribbon and then added a chipboard heart cut-out above it making use of the negative space
I first ran my glue runner over the square cardstock and then started creating rows of the ribbon.  I love how it looks like pinstripes because of the pewter color!  I added the chipboard heart frame atop it and voila....a different look with lots of dimension and texture!  Have a great weekend and I hope you can find a way to play with ribbon!

Supplies Used:
Patterned Paper: Pink Paislee and American Crafts
Chipboard: Crate Paper
Sticker: SRM Stickers
