Life is beautiful- Layout

Hello, everyone!
I'm posting after a long time on my blog but have not stopped crafting. I have been posting regularly on the Papericious blog and I will be catching up with all my remaining posts here soon. Today, I have the very gorgeous Infinity Collection from Papericious to share. As soon as I received these papers in my DT kit, I knew it would be perfect for a mixed media layout. The gorgeous prints and the coordinating die cuts are perfect for creating a shabby chic project, so here's a look at what I have made using these beautiful papers.

To create my LO, I selected one of the 12 X 12 " sheet from the Infinity collection and stuck it on a sturdy 12 X 12" cardstock. I, gessoed over the entire paper, once that was dry, I went to work with texture paste and a stencil which I had created using a die cut. Then, I sprayed and colored over my stenciled area with Lindy's Stamp Gang and Heidi Swapp sprays. All the die cuts that I used on this layout, are from the Infinity Collection Die cuts pack itself. I, further embellished it using my handmade flowers and a little bit of stamping on the background to create more texture.
My LO was totally inspired by the Mood Board from Scrap Around the World- December Challenge. The gold glitter, the sentiment- "Future is bright" and the colors of the moodboard are my main inspiration which I've tried to incorporate within my layout.

Here are some close-up pictures for you to see all  the details :

Here's a look at the inspiration picture from Scrap Around the World.

Please don't forget to leave me your comments/ suggestions. I love receiving your feedback. :)

Best Mom in the world !!

Hello friends,
I have a card to share with you all today which I have created for this time's Altenew challenge From The Craft Room. I was really inspired by the colors and the various elements in the inspiration picture and wanted to capture it in my card. Here's a look at my card first :

And here'a look at the inspiration picture :

I really loved the color scheme of Navy and coral and so I inked up a piece of water color cardstock with distress inks Peacock Feathers and Chipped Sapphire.
Then, I stamped and white heat embossed the Wild Hibiscus flowers and leaves on a kraft cardstock and colored it using watercolor pencils. First, I laid down a layer of white and then added peach color on top and blended it with a waterbrush, then fussy cut the flowers and leaves and popped them on foam dots. The glittered chevron are die cut using a slate grey Glitter Washi tape.

I wanted to incorporate both the chevron design as well as the glitter of the envelope in my card and these die cut chevron fitted the bill perfectly :)To incorporate the kraft cardstock from the picture I cut a thin piece from the Kraft paper and added it to the side of my card.
I heat embossed the sentiment from the Wild Hibiscus set on a white cardstock using the Ranger Platinum embossing powder and also inked it using Chipped Sapphire Distress ink, then spattered some Heidi Swapp Color Shine Coral color on the top to finish my card.

Hope you like my card. Do leave me your feedback I love hearing from you! :)
Have a nice day everyone !!

An Altered hoop and a Tag !

Hello, everyone!
Today I have two projects to share with you all. These projects were created for the Papericious blog to introduce the new Adhesive buttons/flairs that have been released this month. I really enjoyed using these buttons on my projects. :)

So, here's a look at what I created using these buttons. The first one is an altered hoop and the second one is a Mixed media tag!

For this hoop, I have used the Pattern Papers from the Papericious Grey Bloom collection and the Wooden Collection. The pink flowers and the leaves are fussy cut from the Grey Bloom collection paper and mounted on square foams for dimension. As you can see, I have used these buttons for the centre of my bow as well as a part of my sentiment.  These make very pretty centres and look great on cards, layouts and mixed media projects!

Here are few of the close ups!

I am entering my altered Hoop for the PPS challenge : Inspired by a song. I was inspired by THIS song from Francesca Battistelli.

Moving on to my Mixed Media tag :

I first created a burlap flower using the Tim Holtz Tattered florals die and layered it with some tulle and fabric cotton laces and finished it off with an adhesive button. Isn't it gorgeous??
I have created the background of the the tag using embossing paste and a stencil from Tim Holtz with Distress Stain Sprays.

I am entering this tag in the Stamploration Mixed Media Challenge.

Thank you for your time and have a nice day everyone! Please do not forget to leave your comments/suggestions. I love to get feedback from you :)

Background Building- Thanks Card

Hello everyone!
I am on a card making spree these days and I have two cards to share today which I'll be posting in two separate blog posts. These cards are again created for the World Card Making Day celebration challenges at Winnie and Walter. I absolutely LOVE this company and I have really enjoyed using their stamps and dies in several of my cards.
Here's a look at my first card for today :

I created this card keeping in mind Shay's Background Building challenge. W & W has such great sentiment stamps and I really love using it to create my background as well as the main focal of my card. Their The Big, the Bold and Extras is one of my favorite stamp set and now that I have it's coordinating die, it's a win-win situation for me. :D
The black 'thanks' has been stamped, heat embossed and fussy cut and mounted on foam dots, so are the flowers and leaves. I stamped the background using Hero Arts Soft Granite ink. The sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.

I'm entering this in the Background  Building Challenge and BGC- Anything goes.
Hope you like my card. Please do drop in your comments/suggestions. I love hearing from you.

Have a nice day everyone!

This card was made keeping in mind a couple of challenges which I wanted to participate for the WCMD....Before I give you the details, here's a look at my card first :

I have used Altenew's Wild Hibiscus set to stamp and emboss my flower and leaves ..Also used the leaves from the Doodle Flower set and have gold embossed them using Ranger Gold Embossing powder on vellum and colored them  with Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, then fussy cut them.
The leaves are colored using Shabby Shutters Distress ink. My background panel is embossed using Darice Woodgrain Embossing folder and I have used Papericious Grey Bloom Premium Pattern paper for my bottom half.
I watercolored a cardstock panel using Picked Raspberry Distress ink and die cut the circle from it to frame the flowers and leaves.

Thank you Card !!

Hi friends,
I have a quick card to share today. A few days ago I was lucky enough to win a spot in the current Online WaterColor Card Class (Exploring Mediums) by the very talented Jennifer McGuire  and friends..They have such awesome teachers and I got to learn tons from this class.
My card is based on the Day 2 Class Homework which was exploring traditional watercolor mediums like Tube paint's, Distress inks and Watercolor cakes...For my card though, I have used the Altenew Dye inks to do my coloring and I have followed the technique that Jennifer Rzasa taught using Distress inks and solid image stamps ...Before I explain further, here's a look at my card :

To begin with,  I did try out the stamping with Distress inks but found no success .. In the process also managed to spoil one of my  finished card panel's when I got clumsy with water  and brush  :(.... I have used the Altenew Lacey Scrolls stamp set for the solid image stamping ....The inks I used are Altenew Grapevine and Ruby Red for the flowers and the PTI Simply Chateruese ink for the leaves and foliage...Once I stamped the flower, I went in with a wet brush and blended the colors and kept adding a bit more of Grapevine ink which I had smooshed on my acrylic block. Finally ended my card with a few ink splatter's using the Grapevine ink and die cut sequins from the Mama elephant Confetti die..I really missed not having real sequins in gold to add to my card :(
My card colors and design are inspired from this time's Altenew challenge ..Here is a look at the beautiful  inspiration picture :
Also entering my card in the current Lulupu challenge Sparkle and Shine.
Hope you all like my card ...Do leave your views regarding it ...I love to hear from you :)
Have a nice day everyone !!

Dream- Mixed Media Canvas

Hello, friends!
I am back again sharing a Mixed Media Canvas I have made using our Papericious's this month's release - "The Vintage Attire" and "The Golden Garden" collections. The Vintage Attire premium collection has some really beautiful prints, perfect for creating any backgrounds and all the Mixed Media fans would love the designs in this pack. I have used the Vintage Attire to create the base of my canvas design by doing paper tearing and layering these papers using Gel Medium, then I gessoed over it. Here's a look at it :

Close-up of the sentiment and textures :

To create the background of my canvas, I have layered strips of paper from The Vintage Attire collection by Papericious, then did stenciling using stencils from MFT and Tim Holtz using Wendy Vecchi Embossing paste in white. Once it dried, I used Lindy's Stamp Gang Mists- Hottie Pattotie. I have paper pieced some flowers and leaves from The Golden Garden collection by Papericious  and then embellished it using MDF pieces, a white resin frame and my handmade flowers, and some pollen fillers too.
The sentiment is stamped using Visible image stamp and heat embossed it using White embossing powder on a black cardstock paper. The word 'Dream' are alpha stickers from the Chickaniddy Crafts- Date Night collection which I have colored with Versafine Onyx black ink and added Glossy Accents over it.

My canvas was inspired by the this time's gorgeous inspiration photograph at the Scrap Around the World blog and it measures 10 X 10 inches. Here's a look at the beautiful picture :
I was inspired by the colors, the soft pink and the browns and the beautiful flower on the book and the script background.
I'm also entering this in the PPS September challenge- Embossing. I've done heat embossing on the sentiment and on the MDF pieces.
I am entering this canvas for this month's STAMPlorations Mixed Media challenge - Sep  ( I have used  stencils on my background )

I have taken bits of the inspiration picture and included in my canvas. The quote is perfect with the theme of my canvas, too! Taking time to live life does, indeed inspire our work. :)

Hope you like my work. Your comments totally make my day, so do leave me your feedback.
Have a nice day everyone.

Mixed Media' Celebrate' Card !

Hi friends!
I've been missing from the blogland for nearly 2 months now and I have really missed creating and sharing a lot, but a family emergency took precedence over my crafting commitments, but thankfully things are just settling now, so I'm here with my first post for the Papericious blog. This month Papericious has come up with 2 Premium Paper packs and Embellishment sheets with some really amazing and gorgeous designs. I am focusing on the 'My Golden Garden Collection'. It's a perfect shabby-chic collection and you will love these papers and their designs once you have them in your hand. So here's a look at what I've created!

I have used the 3D Dome sticker, and the Circular Collage Sheet - Blue Dreams (1 Inch circle) to create a gorgeous epoxy sticker. I have layered the epoxy sticker on the 1.5 Inch- Vintage Time Circular Collage Sheet. Here's a look at what I have created :

I have created a shabby, mixed media card and I'm sharing a tutorial on how I created the card base and the floral embellishment on the Papercicious blog. These papers have some really beautiful flower images and also neutral designs like dots, hearts and my very favorite, chevrons and it's quite easy to paper piece the images to create any project.

I'm entering my card into the SSS Wednesday challenge (I have used a Prima Marketing Doily die as well as Cheery Lynn Sophie's heart Mini doily die).

After I finished my card, I went ahead and created a mixed media tag too using The Vintage Attire- Labels embellishment sheet and My Golden Garden paper collection.

Hope you like my projects..Would love to hear your views on it. :)
Have a nice day everyone!

Celebrate your day !

Hello Friends,
I am back again with a card again but before I get into the details regarding that, I wanted to take a moment to wish all my Muslim friends a very Happy Ramadan Kareem. The holy month of Ramadan has started and so has the fasting, prayers and the festivities surrounding it. This month is really hectic for me and if you don't see me drop by all your blogs, please bear with me as my energy levels are quite low. Will make up to all of you soon :)

Well, that said, let me dive right into what I have to share today..Ofcourse, its a card...No surprises there :D, but this time I am trying something quite new to me as I try to CASE the creative genius Jocelyn Olson and her style of card making, which is totally unique and quite brilliant.

Here's a look at my card :

Taheerah, at the Winnie and Walter blog has invited Jocelyn for this time's Gossip Column challenge and she has challenged us to create a card based on Jocelyn's style of card making. For my card, I have been inspired by Jocelyn's card below. The way she has used soft colours, unusual card design and various elements is fabulous. I would have never thought of trimming my card panel to an angle and adhering an embossed panel over it..To me, thats sheer genius!
 Here's a look at Jocelyn's card :
I have used my very fave set from Winnie and Walter- The Big, the Bold and Extras to create the entire card. This set not only has fabulous flowers and leaves, but some of the best sentiments too! I have been inspired by the design and the colors and have incorporated various elements from Jocelyn's card in my card. Hope you all like my take as this loose eclectic style of card designing is quite new to me.

Supplies used :
Iris White cardstock.
Dies/embossing folders- Spellbinders Floral Ovals, Paper Smooches Dots and Dashes, Spellbinders Standard Ovals, Die Versions Sweet Wordlets Celebrate die, Mama Elephant Confetti die, Cuttlebug/ Provocraft Foundry embossing folder, Creative Expressions/Sue Wilson Faux Quilled Leaves die.
Stamps- Winnie and Walter The Big, the Bold and Extras.
Inks- Versafine Onyx Black ink pad, Mama Elephant Fresh Mint ink pad, Memento Dandelion ink.
Heidi Swapp Color Shine Gold Lame mist, Viva Decor Inka Gold, Pretty Pink Posh/Winnie and Walter First Birthday Bash Sequins.

I am entering this card in the Winnie and Walter Gossip Column challenge, Catchy Challenges ( I have been inspired by the soft yellow and blue color from the moodboard), Beyond Grey Challenges and Simon Says Stamp challenge. (My favorite techniques are dry embossing, spattering and die cutting).

Hope you like my card do leave your comments/suggestions. Would love to hear from you :)

Floral Thanks

Hello, hello friends!
So, I'm back again with another card and this time I have played with the Altenew Vintage Flowers set. Totally, totally in love with this set and if my budget did allow me, I could have very nearly bought all of their stamp sets :):)
Anyhow,  here's a look at what I have created :

Because this stamp set is so beautiful, I have kept this card pretty simple just to highlight the stamp itself!
I won't lie. The layered stamping is definitely tricky and it takes a lot of practice before one gets perfect results and mine is nowhere near perfect. :/ After lot of trial and error, what I found is Dye inks work best for the layered stamps. I have used a combination of Memento and Mama Elephant inks for my pink flowers where as for the yellow flower I have used Hero Arts Shadow inks along with Memento inks.
The background is embossed using an embossing folder from Darice. I love the contrast of the woodgrain against the soft flowers. I have lightly inked the panel using Black Soot Distress ink. Some random ink splatters and PPP sequins completes my card. The sentiment is die cut and is my ever favorite SSS die.

Supplies used :
Cardstock- White Iris Cardstock.
Stamps- Altenew Vintage Flowers.
Dies- Simon Says Stamp Thanks Craft die.
Inks- Memento Angel Pink, Mama Elephant Piggy Bank, Avery Elle Raspberry, Hero Arts Soft Blossom, Memento Dandelion, Hero Arts Butter Bar, Hero Arts Orange Soda, Distress ink Black Soot.
Darice Woodgrain embossing folder, Black acrylic paint, Pretty Pink Posh Sequins.

I'm entering this card in the Cardabilities Sketch challenge, Beyond Grey Challenges, A Blog Named Hero- Favorites (I have used my absolutely fave stamp set here), Create Something Catchy -CAS and Inspired by the moodboard. (I have been Inspired by the flowers ), SSS - Love of plants.

Hope you like my attempt at layered stamping.  I would love to hear your comments/suggestions on my card.
Have a nice day everyone!
