Don't Even Think About It Gift Tag

Hey Quietfire Fans! For today's project I'm sharing with how to create this quick and easy Don't Even Think About It Gift Tag. I combined a variety of Quietfire Design Stamps and Modern Gilding Powders which were all perfect for creating this gift tag. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite beverage and learn how to recreate my Don't Even Think About It Gift Tag at home.

Start by trimming a tag down to 3 1/8" x 4 5/8". Spritz the tag with Tree Lot and Peppermint Stick Distress Mica Stain. Allow the tag time to dry.

Die cut a 2 1/2" stitched circle out of a piece of white cardstock. Spritz Peppermint Stick Distress Mica Stain on the circle. Once the circle has dried, apply Emboss It Ink to the Don't Even Think quote from the Christmas Sweet & Sassy Stamp Set and stamp in the middle of the circle. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powders on the stamped quote. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Distress the edges of the circle. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Distress the edges of the tag. Ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam. From the To Appreciate the Beauty of a Snowflake stamp, you'll need the swirly stamp. Apply Emboss It Ink to the stamp and stamp on the top portion of the tag as desired. Reapply ink to the stamp and stamp on the bottom portion of the tag as desired. Sprinkle Kells Gold Modern Gilding Powders over the stamped images. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Metallic poinsettia with a golden Warm Wishes

Hello Crafty Friends!

Christmas is just around the corner...can you believe it?  This month is flying by and I am hurriedly finishing up the holiday cards.  Last week my hubby asked for a card intended for a work colleague.  The card turned out to have shimmer, metallic lustre and was mounted on an interesting corrugated base for extra texture.

The fun instructions:

  1. Create a 5.5 x 5.5 inch tent fold card base from corrugate (or purchase a set from your local crafty store).
  2. Cut red metallic card stock or construction paper to 5.25 x 5.25.  Dry emboss using an embossing folder of your choice.  Mount to card base using liquid adhesive.
  3. Cut gold glitter card stock smaller than red base and mount using liquid adhesive.
  4. Cut watercolor paper to 5 x 5.  Stamp poinsettia using brown archival ink.  Dry.  Apply distress inks along edges.  Color poinsettia using red distress inks and a water color brush.  Dry.  Apply sparkle glitter pens as desired.  Mount to card base using double sided foam tape.
  5. Apply gold Nuvo drops to poinsettia center.
  6. Use Versamark to stamp WarmWishes.  Heat emboss using gold embossing powder.
  7. Cut Warm Wishes to desired size and mount onto red metallic card stock.  Mount to card front using liquid adhesive.
  8. Create double bow and mount as shown using liquid adhesive.
  9. Cut watercolor paper to 5.25 x 5.25.  Stamp All Good Wishes for Christmas & the New Year using red ink.  Mount to inside of card.
The card is full of beautiful calligraphy, textures and finishes.  Love the way it turned out!

Don't Even Think About Opening This Till Christmas Gift Tag

Hey Quietfire Fans! I'm excited to be back on the blog today sharing with you my Don't Even Think About Opening This Till Christmas Gift Tag which features a variety of Quietfire Stamps and A Way With Words Dies. You'll want to grab a cup of your favourite Christmas beverage and learn how to recreate my gift tag at home.

To start, die cut two ornaments from the Love, Joy & Peace Ornaments out of White Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Fired Brick Distress Ink over the entire surface of each ornament.

Apply Emboss It Ink to the Merry Christmas Background stamp and stamp overtop of one of the ornaments. Sprinkle Midnight Black embossing powder overtop of the ornament. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Repeat the previous steps for the second ornament. Ink the edges of each ornament using a blending tool with foam and Black Soot Distress Ink.

Die cut a 2 1/4" stitched circle out of white cardstock. Apply Red Geranium Archival Ink to the "Don't even think" stamp and stamp in the middle of the circle. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Die cut a second 2 1/4" stitched circle out of white cardstock. Apply Red Geranium Archival Ink to the "To/From" stamp and stamp in the middle of the circle. Ink the edges of the circle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

From the May Your Heart Be Warm Stamp set, you'll need the branch stamp. Apply Fern Green Archival Ink to the fern stamp and stamp onto a piece of white cardstock. Reapply the ink to the fern stamp and stamp onto the same piece of white cardstock. Fussy cut both fern branches out. Ink the edges of both fern branches using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Adhere the "Don't even Think" circle to the "To/From" circle. Adhere one of the ornaments over top of the "Don't even Think" circle. Adhere the other ornament over top of the "To/From" circle, making sure the two ornaments match up.

Foam square the fern branch at the top of the ornament on the side of the "Don't Even Think" circle. Foam square the fern branch at the bottom of the ornament underneath the "Don't Even Think" circle. To finish off the fern branches, add a small pearl in the middle of each branch.

To finish off the gift tag, tie a piece of twine at the top of the ornament.
