I did it :)

Squeezed one last finish into 2015 :)

Lizzie Kate's Special Edition kit 2007.

Sara Basil is a Dimples Design's chart, I have no idea if it's still available tho as mine was a PHD for over 10 years!

With a mere 6 minutes to 2016 I want to wish you all a Happy New Year and may it be a happy and craft filled year for you

Festive finishes

Strictly speaking they aren't festive finishes but projects I finished over Christmas.

First is Winter Box from Shepherds Bush, you all know what a sucker I am for a snowman.
He was started and finished on Christmas Day

And then there's Basil :)
I finished him off on Boxing Day because I've been doing the back stitch as I go it only took me a few hours to finish.
Please excuse the wrinkles

I might be able to squeeze another finish in tomorrow to end the year off but I'll have to see how it goes

Tribal Dragonfly finished

As promised yesterday the piccie of the completed Tribal Dragonfly from Sparklies :)

I fell in love with this at the Harrogate Knitting and Stitching show at the end of November when I helped man the stand for the day.
It was a joy to stitch and I loved the Paintbox silks that Kate used in the kit, they were a delight to stitch with and I was so impressed I'm planning on using them on my Jan 1st start if I can get them sorted in time!

Mini finish

I originally started this mini kit way back in 2012 at Fella's house but struggled to see the chart there so this is as far as it got.

Last weekend with Teejay being here I knew I'd get next to no stitching done and thought I'd work on it again

I finished it this last weekend and so crossed another PHD off my list

Progress and a finish

Last week's progress on the fruit, I've already filled in the gaps in the green this evening

And I did manage to finish Magical Night on Friday

I used the called for colours but decided to stitch one swirl with the JCS version not the express chart version just because I could :)

Happy dance time

Please excuse the worse than normal piccies the light wasn't very good and I'd not ironed it

Turtles Happy Dance

On Friday I did the last few turtles, most I've managed to do in one day since I started the fact that got smaller each time is completely beside the point :)

The whole stack of Turtles

Turtles all the way down
Using my own colour way ie whatever I felt like each time :) on Dr Smith's tonic from Sparklies I also bought the chart from Kate

Plums Happy Dance

I was hoping to have this finished over the weekend but with being away I didn't get quite so much time as I would of liked to stitch so it came home looking like this

Because I had such a small amount left to do I went ahead and finished it :)

It should have an over 2 border and some fancy stitches as well but I like it the way it is so I'm leaving it alone.

SFS July report

It's time for the monthly Stitch from Stash report.

Starting budget = £20
£ spent = 0
£ earnt = £6 for Spring
Budget left = £26

I started this for an exchange earlier in the year and then decided that it wasn't suitable after all so put it aside.  Last weekend I decided to take a week off from the Lake District sampler as I've been getting a little fed up with it so pulled it out and finished it off.

It's an old freebie from Brown House Studio simply called Spring.
I stitched it on an oddment of 23 count I found in my stash and changed the colours to those that I had .
I'm quite pleased with it and I'm glad I've finished it and can cross a PHD off the list :)

Major Happy Dance time

I've been beading Toy Gatherer all week whenever I had chance and today I put the last bits on him so he is at long last done, wooohoooooo

The journey started many, many moons ago before I started to keep a record of my stitching so he was started before 2004 but I have no idea when exactly that was!  Last November I decided to make him my weekend project and apart from a brief break over Christmas while I did Charmed Hearts he's seen progress every weekend for 6 months!

He started out last November looking like this and ta da

I've left off the ribbon on his hat because I wasn't happy with it and was fed up of fiddling with it and I've not added the beard either cause I don't like them :)

I will be putting the chart and left over threads up for sale in a few days if anyone is interested

A finish and an appeal

I fell in love with this guy a couple of years back when I saw the in my local craft shop but it's taken me until this week to get round to stitching him.
I started him on Monday and finished him just before I came online this evening :)

Way back in 2010 I stitched Triangularity from Cross Eyed Kat and wanted to do the other one's in the series but didn't get the charts because of a lack of funds:(
Now I have a little spare cash I thought I'd get one of them but she seems to have disappeared, I can find images of them but nothing more :(

So I'm hoping that someone out there that reads my blog has them and will either sell them to me or let me loan them for a few months, pretty please.

Snow, a finish and progress

This is teh scene that greeted me out of my bedroom window this morning

And this is out across the back of the house

It's all gone now but it was nice while it lasted which it never does here unless the rest of the UK has a ground to a halt.

Last night I finished Home is where the Sunflowers grow and it's my third finish for the year not bad considering we are still in January

And another bit ready to add to my quilt, I have a few more almost ready to add

Weekend stitching

I was right (for once) about finishing Charmed Hearts this last weekend the last bead went on Saturday evening making it my first finish of 2015 :) and about time to.  I have no idea when I actually started this but it's on my PHD list at the top with no year beside it which means I started it before 1 Jan 2004, before then I didn't really keep a record of what I stitched, when I started/ finished things or how long they took.
I did put the charms on the hearts but decided that I wasn't happy with them so took them off again but I did put the beads on the outer border

And because the big pic really doesn't do the outer border justice a little close up of it
