Last weekend my parents went to the Caravan show and one of the things they came back with was a free pop up frisbee, this afternoon Sheena was here and as the car was parked out the front of the house they went out the back to play frisbee for a little while (in case you wondering both girls have Thursdays off from their college courses)
I had to include this first pic of Mel, she'd just thrown the frisbee and it hit my hand as I was taking the pic so she's trying not to laugh and apologise at the same time

I've started a stash clear out blog
One of the results of having more time at home this week is that I've started to go through my stash with a view to dispensing with items I've stitched, no longer love or have accepted that I'll never use. You'll find it here Caring Stitcher clear out.

DIY framing
You may remember last year I finished a UFO that I'd had hanging about for years and hated stitching but at the time my Mum said that she would quite happily give it a new home. I was going to give it her for Christmas but never got round to get it laced and framed, today while I had the cutting mat etc out to put together an exchange I also cut the mount board for this and got it laced (I'm making the most of Mum and Dad being in Wales) Apologies for the bad pic but try as I might I couldn't get a decent one quite poss. because it's very cloudy here today
There is a reason for the background but all will become clear in a few days and besides it's much interesting than the carpet on my bedroom floor :)
Now go on own up who fell off their seat with the shock of a post 4 days running :)
A much better pic of the frame

Living with Charm update
WOW a post 3 days running that's a rare event for me :)
I've been to darts practice today, the match is next Tuesday night so we were a little more organised with out practice today than normal and out of the 5 proper games we played (instead of just throwing the darts at the board and adding the score up) my team won 3-2 with me winning 2 of those :). We have a laugh and lunch and a bit of a freindly competition each week as to who can score the highest this week it was me with a score of 104 so a couple of the others have claimed that they want to be on the same team as me on the night, lol
I finished Learn, did all of Believe and most of Care along with a chunk of border (last update pic is here) this time around so I'm stil on track to get it finished in April.

Framing and stash
Yesterday I went down to The Nimble Thimble to pick up some framing. I stitched this last year for Mel, she has no idea I've had it framed yet and by the time she reads this she'll be back from camp and will have seen it. I'm really pleased with the way it turned out but I really should of tidyed up the duvet before I plonked them on to take pics
I also treated myself to a bit of stash while I was there, the one peeking out is a Silver Lining Rose for Mel's 18th later this year but as she reads my blog I can't show which one nor will I be able to share progress pics of it.
Now all I have to do is figure out where to hide the SL while I work on it, Mel knows where I keep my WIPs and may decide to go peeking (although I doubt it, she's very good)

Friday night SAT
With finishing Quaker Row last week I was tempted to start something new for the Friday night SAT over on Let's Stitch but in the end I decided to go for a WIP or I'll never get the number I have down.
Not a huge amount of progress considering that Mel is away on camp so there was only me here but those darn frogs payed a visit :(

Beaded Tassel class
Yesterday I did the beaded tassel class and had great fun. So that we would have a completed tassel to take home we used bugle beads to get up the neck quicker.
As you can see mine was orange (I was given a green one to start with which I quickly swapped!) but you really can't see that there's 3 different shades of beads and that goes for real life to.
We made two tassels at the start of the class, one four inch (that one shown) and a six inch which is sat on the table waiting for me to decide on what colours and pattern to use on it.
I can see more of these in my future as Birthday/Christmas presents :) the little 3 inch one's our tutor had to show us would make an ideal scissor fob so you never know if one will appear as a giveaway in the future

Angel Box Happy Dance
Last November I did a course at The Bead Trail to learn how to make a beaded box, today I finished it and to say I'm pleased is an understatement. I have loved every bit of the at times steep learning curve I had on this and I can see more of them in the future. The only thing missing is the bead handle on the lid but I can't find my I pins so it will have to wait a day or two.
Freindship exchange
Mine arrived yesterday although I don't know who sent it as there was no note inside but I do have an idea it may be Janice as she's posted on Exchange Heaven that she's sent but forgot to include a note.
Isn't he adorable. There was also a couple of cardmaking goodies included but I couldn't get a decent pic of those
Stay tuned I'll be back very soon with another Happy Dance :)

Quaker Row Happy Dance
I put the last stitch in a little while ago but really should of cropped the pic before I posted it!
I decided while working on it last night that I really didn't want a finish Friday 13 so left X Y and Z until today. I'm sorry the pics not too good, it's a bit dull here this afternoon and I couldn't get a decent pic no matter how much I tried.

A flowery finish
Being sick the last few days has had it's good points, I've finished my Freindship exchange project and this little design but this is the only one I can share right now
Agneta Engman Designs
I have no idea when I started it but it had to be after 1994 (date on the design) and I vaguely remember buying it at a stitching group I used to go when the designer was there. It resurfaced with a couple of the blooms done last year when ExH brought down a bag of bits and pieces he'd found when having a sort out.
I know I'm never going to restitch it so I've decided to give the chart away rather then let it collect dust in my stash or end up in the recycling. You've got until Midnight tomorrow (Weds) to put your name down and I'll get Mel to draw a name on Thursday.

Thank you for all your well wishes and get well vibes I'm much better and only have a bit of a sore throat now which will hopefully go in a day or two.

Quaker Row update
Thursday, February 05, 2009
Look what I woke up to
Even though the pic doesn't show it it's still falling :)
Mel is feeling much better now and more like her normal self although she's still coughing alot and she doesn't yet have much colour in her cheeks. But I've got up this morning with a bit of a cough and cold so I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse
Jo, Princess and Dragon is hanging in the alcove where my puter is along with Quiltmaker (which I'll share another day), the balck wire you can see behind it is the wire that runs from the router up into Mel's room for her puter which happens to sit directly above mine

An old finish
I took this a few days ago planning to post it but life got in the way and Mel got sick so it's taken me a few days.
Teresa Wentzler
I started this back in 2002 I think when it was released in a UK magazine at the time rotating was new to me and it didn't get much attention really but that all changed in June/July 2003. To cut a long and boring story short I stitched it in the month or so of waiting for tests to be done to find out why I couldn't walk and had extreme pain in my legs all the time, turned out it was caused by diabeties although I had none of the normal symptoms that signal it's onset

January Progress & February Goals
For January I said
Finish the Angel Box I've got as far as the hem, it's giving me problems and I've unpicked it a couple of times
UFO RR Done
SOLAK Square Started but no where near finished
Start all the new WIPs I feel like and not to feel guilty I didn't start as many as I thought I would, I must be ill!
A finish would be nice I finished the Peacock freebie
For February I'd like to
Finish the Angel Box
UFO RR
Finish the SOLAK Square
Finish Quaker Row
Finish the stitching on both exchanges I'm signed up for
In total I stitched for 111hrs 19mins, had 5 new starts and 1 finish. Of those 5 starts 3 will be finished this month so it's not quite so bad as it looks right now for my WIP killing spree.
Current WIP total = 48
