HI! It's Party Time!!
Please join http://www.blogger.com/%20http://emmacallsmemama.com for another great Heirloom Party!
Come on we love stuff and stuff with history is best!!
I am visiting with my greatgrandma Kistler today. I have quite a few of her items and actually I'm sure I have more than I'm showing but I got from my grandmother both of the greatmother's things so some I'm a little fuzzy as to who they belonged to.
These I know
Isn't this great actually used for years on the Turkey ranch in Longmont, Colorado.
I love it hanging in my bathroom. My Great-grand Father put a pump in her drysink in the kitchen so she could have running water in doors! They were very progressive. She even worked! She was a School Teacher. I followed in her footsteps in my first career go round!
I also have this plaque. I hang it to in the bathroom but so I can remember it to start my day every day.
And I have this
It is not an heirloom until I pass it on, but it is special it was my first Bible. I still like it because it is easy to find things in. Then I can go look up the whole thing elsewhere if I need too!
This is only inscription I have. I do think I may have a card in my baby book that she wrote but this is how I remember her handwriting. Arthritis had her hands but she still had such a way with writing. I feel very drawn to my family's handwritten items. They are as special as a picture to me.
I hope you have enjoyed this meeting with my Grandma. I wish I had a picture of her to share but I need to get them and then get them scanned in!
Hugs, Lisa
