Flowers open singly or a few at a time through the summer. They are white and look as they were made of thin crepe paper. The flower is the reason this is sometimes called the Crepe Ginger.

Growth Rate:  Slow
Sun Tolerance: Full Sun
ABP Index: 3.0 (Aesthetics 3.0, Solidarity 3.0)

It is a evergreen tree. Demonstrating both weeping habit as well as extreme shoot elongation, Cobra spruce is one of the more bizarre appearing conifers, but it is easy to become a fan of this new cultivar. Odd appearing in youth, Cobra grows into its own after a few years. The lowest branches often will form a skirt right on the ground. Neither the flowers nor the fruit are ornamentally significant. The smooth gray bark is not particularly outstanding. The fruit are cones. It is a slow growing plant. This tree does best in full sun to partial shade. Its relatively fine texture sets it apart from other landscape plants with less refined foliage.
