revenge of the ink...

Good morning everyone hows your week going?...good I hope...well I got myself all ready and make up on for the doctors but had an hour to spare so decided to pop into my craft room for a little painting therapy to keep my white coat syndrome in check lol...then off I popped to visit the vampires...oops sorry I mean nurse, blood taken, quick visit to the shops to get some groceries then headed home...when I was heading in I caught sight of myself in the mirror and realised I had a big streak of blue ink down my bottom cheek onto my neck...now seriously my Dad, the receptionist, check out girl and nurse all spoke to me, chatted and not one of them mentioned it lol...either they didn't notice or thought it was part of my makeup...but the freakiest thing is this is the card I coloured...do you notice any blue on it??????...so where on earth did it come from...those inks are so sneaky lol...right now onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Crafts & Me Challenge, this weeks theme is Buttons & Bows (you must use both)....well how hard was it for me to use buttons and bows, I usually use at least one of them every day don't I...I used this beautiful Hannah Lynn digi called Cheshire Cat that will be released on Crafts & Me on April 1st...fab isn't she...I used my distress inks and  kept her face more cat like so didn't do skin tones this time on her...these fantastic papers are a double sided sheet of Graphic45 paper from their Communique Collection called Communique...I love the vintage look of it don't you...I finished with a sentiment strip from the paper, two different ribbon bows and a scattering or two of buttons to match...I made the sketch up as I went along but am entering this for the Love to Create Challenge, Anything Goes Challenge and the Bearly-Mine Challenge too...I'm off our to the chiropodist with my lovely Dad this afternoon but a bit of crafting this morning...don't worry I will give myself a good scan in the mirror before leaving this time lol...have a fab streak free day today and when you have time pop on over to the Crafts & Me Challenge blog to see what the rest of our amazing digi team came up with this time

a fight over bacon rind...

Good morning everyone, did you all have sun yesterday then...mind the temperature didn't go over 8c here even with sun, but there's something about sunshine isn't there, it always seems to put a smile on everyone's face, mind it does show the dust up in your house doesn't it lol...we didn't really get up to much yesterday, after two hours waiting in a super crowded outpatients department for a waste of time appointment that could have used better we did a bit of shopping for dinner then went home for lunch...poor Phil was shattered and sat down for a little while after lunch and nodded off bless him...so I decided to just let him sleep and of I popped to my craft room for a tidy up...nope your right no tidying was done or crafting for that fact...the mojo wandered off into the sun I think and I spent ages gazing out of my craft room window watching the birds going back and forwards fighting over and eating the bacon rinds I had left out for them and sipping tea (me not the birds of course)...very relaxing but nothing done...by the time I came back downstairs Phil was awake and I made a pasta sauce ready for dinner...so we did nothing but relax...I should have spent it hunting for my mojo I think lol...right now onto my card for today which a complete contrast from yesterday bright and sunny card...its for our new challenge at Crafts & Me Challenge, this time our theme is to Add A Charm...I don't really do charms do I but I found this lush love one with the top cut off it made a great sentiment too...I used this beautiful Crafts & Me image Art Deco Pearl for my card, coloured with distress inks and teamed up with the lush Prima 6x6-Fairy Belle pad I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts (its an old one so not there anymore)...I finished with some lush sheer soft gold coloured ribbon saved from a Christmas box and some punched butterflies to finish...the fab sketch is from Sketch Saturday challenge and I'm also entering it for the Anything Goes Challenge and The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop Challenge too...I'm off to do what I should have done yesterday and tidy my craft room today, maybe my mojo will be hiding under all the piles somewhere...whatever your up to today I hope you manage to get out and about and have some fun

it wont be a stroppy Christmas...

Good morning everyone I hope your all well and happy this fine morning...I'm feeling loads and loads better thank goodness, it must have been all that imaginary chicken soup lol...I didn't get out yesterday at all, my Dad refused to have me go with him to the hospital and said 'dont be daft girl, I'm going to a COPD clinic I'm not taking you with a cold to infect everyone', well that's me told isn't it...but he went for his tests himself and did as I told him (for a change lol), he told everyone he was hard of hearing and they all spoke up for him...brilliant news too, his COPD is stable the medication is working fine and it hasn't got any worse...phew what a relief because he had a chest infection not long ago and I know he was very scared that it had affected his COPD...I love love love my Dad to bits, he is so precious to us all but especially to me, when my Mum passed away about 10 years ago he told me he thought his life was over and it broke my heart to see him like that...it took a lot of love and affection and showing him how much he counted to get him back to enjoying himself and living again, then he was told he had COPD and it took me a long time to convince him that with care and the right medication it wasn't the death sentence he thought it was...we have got very close over the last ten years and I cherish every moment I have with him...life is so short isn't it and we should always tell those we care about how much we care don't you think...I think I'm feeling it more lately because we found out a friends Mum had died on Sunday night, she had been very ill and slipping in and out of a coma but no matter what the circumstance the loss of a parent is so devastating don't you think and my heart goes out to him...Phil went to see him last night and he is coping but I don't think its hit him yet, heaven help him when it does, I remember the feeling well...ok now enough waffling onto my card for today...I'm hoping Christmas isn't going to be as bad as Stroppy Beth from Saturated Canary thinks lol...shes fab isn't she and has that teenage pout we all know and love lol...I coloured her with distress inks and paper pieced part of her outfit...I seem to be very into cutting out atm don't I, the lush pad papers are from the Glitz 6x6" Paper Pack - Joyeux Noel pad, perfectly Christmassy aren't they with a real nostalgic feel to them...I finished with a bow from my stash and three Flat Back Rose Cabochons - Mixed Bag embellishments...I love these little cuties don't you...the roses and papers I bought from Bunny Zoe's Crafts, the fab sketch is from The Sweet Stop Challenge and I'm also entering it for the Anything Goes challenge and Papertake Weekly challenge too...I AM going out today no ifs ands or buts...I need some fresh air now I'm feeling a bit better so a trip to the shops and coffee I think is definitely needed...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and tell someone you care about how much you care, you never know do you.

some days are so lucky...

Good morning everyone, I hope everyone is safe and sound and that all my American friends haven't been touched by the devastation that is Superstorm Sandy...nature is so beautiful most of the time but can be very cruel sometimes...I like most of us in the UK watched the news unfold with bated breath and hoped that this time wouldn't be too bad and only property would bear the brunt...I'm so sorry to say it wasn't and my heart goes out to the people whose lives were touched by death and destruction...some days are so lucky arent they and you end up feeling so glad to be alive...we went out to dinner last night, just a lovely quiet meal at a seaside town for the two of us...it was a fabulous dinner and of course we ate too much lol...we left about 7.30 so it was dark and Phil crossed the road just ahead of me, of course I looked before I crossed, always do, I learnt my green cross code at school lol...a motorbike was bombing up the road without its headlight on and spotted me at the same time as I spotted him...I knew it wouldn't miss me and know enough about bikes (thank you Phil) to know it would be easier for him to try and go round me than for me to run and for him to try and dodge me...so I just closed my eyes and waited for the thud...when I opened them the bike had stopped about 30cms (12 inches) away from me and Phil was standing on the pavement with his mouth open...some days when you walk away from something like that you feel utterly blessed...that will teach me to eat too much lol...right now onto my card for today which is for our new challenge at Crafts and Me Challenge which this time is our wonderful Nic's (Coops) choice, she chose the theme of Bling It Up...I used this beautiful Horn of Praise by Sara Burrier from Crafts and Me for my card...stunning isn't she...I coloured her with distress inks and glittered the sun and her wings...the amazing paper is from the Graphic 45 8x8 Paper Pad - Olde Curiosity Shoppe pad from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...gorgeous colours isn't it, did you know some people in Northern Ireland consider the peacocks feathers to be really bad luck (full of useless information aren't I lol)...I finished with loads and loads of blue gems...the fab sketch is from Sunday Sketch and Stamp but as I didn't use a stamp I cant enter it...but I am entering it for the Fussy & Fancy Friday Challenge, Anything Goes Challenge and The Crafty Blogger's Network challenge...I'm off out today I feel in the need of a mooch, well we all do sometimes don't we...whatever your up to today take care crossing the roads and stay safe

lost it...

Good morning everyone sorry I'm late this morning but my internet connection was off for the last 12 hours...so I got on the phone this morning to tear them off a strip as I pay extra for their super fast reliable service and was going to give someone a piece of my mind (not that I can afford it lol)...the young woman on the phone was so nice and explained about updating the system etc to give me a better service, apologising for not letting me know when...I came of the phone thinking what the hell happened there...they should give that girl a raise she is SO good at her job lol...anyway its back on now, a bit hit and miss but back'ish...I need your opinion today...remember the shoe saga well I want to ask your opinions...I have found three shoes and want to know what you think so the FIRST (incredible value and good reviews), SECOND (stunning, excellent reviews but oh boy that price) and THIRD (another incredible price and I love the ruffle but maybe not as comfortable)...let me know what you think as I cant take you all shopping with me (I wish) and need some advice, I would ask Phil but hes sick of listening to the show saga and my beautiful Daughter would go for something completely different and super high which I would totter around in for a couple of hours then go barefoot for the rest of the day lol....anyway onto my card for today and I'm still lacking mojo in a major way but here's my effort anyway...this is such a beautifully delicate stamp and I really didn't do it justice...its from Wild Rose Studio and is called Hanging Gifts, its so pretty isn't it, I will have to use it again to give it a better go I think...I teamed it up with one of my favourite Christmas pads so far the My Mind's Eye - All is Bright 6x6 pad, I finished with a Gingham Wired Edge Gold Thread Ribbon - Burgundy bow everything is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...I made the sketch up as I went along but am entering this for the Anything Goes challenge and the Delightful Challenge...I'm going to lock myself in my craft room today until either my mojo comes back or I go nuts...its a toss up which will come first lol...whatever your up to today have a good one

Good morning everyone, did you all have a fantastic bank holiday weekend, for those who got the bank holiday of course...the heavens opened very early in the morning here so we decided we would go to the Antiques Fair, so many lovely sparkly things (Phil thinks I'm part Magpie) so we spent hours there and I bought two gorgeous blingy brooches, one for me one for our Daughter, the woman said one was 1940's and the other 50's...hhhmmmmmmm not sure about that but they were only £15 for the two so I thought they were a bargain anyway...then we decided to have lunch in the Hotel where it was, we went for a platter for two which at £11 we thought would be a nice not too heavy lunch...omg I have never seen so much food for two people...it made the table groan...the light lunch idea went flying out the window...home, changed and relaxing for the rest of the afternoon was called for, well we had to rest our full tums didn't we, so a nice day all in all...right now onto my card for today which is using this fabulous Funky Kits cutie, its from the Home Grown Sugar Nellie collection and is called Faye and Freddie, isn't she a sweetie and I love that frog...I coloured her with distress ins and of course she has wings and you now I have to use glitter on wings, its the crafting law isn't it?...how amazing is this paper from Graphic45, I'm loving orange atm for some reason and this colour combo with the green leaves and splash of red is just lush isn't it...the paper is from the Tropical Travelogue collection and is called Island Jewel...maybe I love this paper because it reminds me of tropical holidays oooohhhhhhhh wouldn't you just love a few weeks somewhere tropical...I finished my card with some of the lush flowers cut from the paper, a sentiment from my stash and a lush two tone orange ribbon...the lush sketch is from The Sweet Stop challenge and I'm also entering it for the Anything Goes challenge and the Crafty Calender challenge...I'm having a crafting day today, I feel the need to colour and when you gotta colour you just gotta haven't you, you girls now what I mean don't you...whatever your up to today I hope the heavens don't open on you and you stay dry and warm

hugs for you...

Good morning everyone well its almost the weekend, do you have anything amazing planned?...I think we might take a trip to Ikea this weekend we got a rather large Ikea gift card from Phil's Mum for Christmas and its a closely fought thing to buy either a chair that Phil has his eye on or some more storage for my craft room...I personally think we should split it and he can put more to his half to buy his chair, I think that's fair don't you, and he should consider himself lucky I didn't sneak up with my Dad during the week and blow it all on storage lol...I did a bit more sorting on my craft room yesterday but still haven't finished sorting but its tidy enough to take some photos I think...so look for some this weekend oh and I will have some birthday candy for you all too probably on Sunday...right now my card for today is for our new challenge at Just Magnolia & hAnglar & sTanglar challenge and this time its a lush sketch from our wonderful Jane, great sketch to work with, I turned it so I could have this fabulous A Little Gift Tilda from the Sweet Christmas collection sitting on the centre even if she does look like she might slide off at any second...the lush paper is the New Magnolia Paris Red Peony 12x12 paper, I love it, its so soft and pretty looking isn't it and of course I couldn't resist cutting out some of those beautiful Peonies for embellishments could I...I finished my card with a stunning Dark green wired (25mm wide) organza ribbon, a Made with Love tag charm, Fancy Heart Charm and finished with a cute little sentiment, everything I used except the sentiment is from Bunny Zoe's Crafts...Im entering this for the Simon Says Stamp challenge and Anything Goes challenge...I am determined to get finished my tidying today before Phil gets home...so that's my day sorted...whatever your up to today have a brilliant one and if you have time don't forget to pop on over to Just Magnolia to see what the rest of our team came up with this week...so much gorgeousness

pppppuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrr.......

Good morning everyone are you all well, there is loads of sniffling and coughing going around so I hope you haven't got the lurgy...I had one of those klutz days yesterday, you know the days when everything you do goes wrong and you cant even walk in a straight line...I fell up the stairs (now what sort of klutz falls up stairs) and whacked my elbow so hard I couldn't feel my arm for an hour and no amount of swearing or rubbing helped at all lol, then I caught what was left of the cuff of my fav creating top and ripped it till there was only a seam holding it on, I'm going to have to give up and throw it away aren't I, there will be tears that day I tell you, plus when I caught my cuff I had a cup of coffee in my other hand and it went all over me, yucky...I gave up after that and huddled on the sofa with a hot water bottle and a packet of biscuits watching rubbish daytime TV waiting for the roof to fall in...I can do without days like that but they do make me laugh when I think about them later, so every cloud has a silver lining...my card for today is using this fantastic Kraftin' Kimmie Jayne stamp which is on sale at Bunny Zoe's Crafts for £4.58, bargain isn't she and gorgeous to colour, I used my usual distress inks and paper pieced her dress and bow with the same Prima 6x6 Sparkling Spring paper pad papers as i used for the card, I cut out the edge of one the sheets to make this fab shape and finished with a stunning sparkly chipboard sentiment from a K&Co sheet, I didn't think it needed anything else as the paper is so gorgeous, my cards seem to be getting less and less embellishments on them don't they...I'm entering this for the Anything Goes challenge and the Allsorts challenge

its another preview time before our Sugar Nellie blog hop tomorrow and Saturday...today's preview is on the fabulous Gayles blog, hop on over to the Sugar Nellie blog to read all about it and I will see you at 9 tomorrow for our fab blog hop...Its supermarket day with my lovely Dad today so I will be keeping my arms by my sides and my feet firmly on the ground in case of anymore mishaps...have a safe and brilliantly fun day everyone
