Moments Inked Meal Planner Review

Hello there!  Today I have a review to share with you!  Recently, Papertrey Ink sent me their newest addition to the Moments Ink line up.  They recently introduced their 2017 planner, and along with that came the introduction of the Moments Inked Meal Planner!

If you are anything like me, you make a grocery list and leave it on the counter at home.  When you get to the store having forgotten the list, you fill your cart with things you don't really *need* and leave spending double what you intended!  LOL!  The MI Meal Planner fixes those problems for me!

The Meal Planner comes in two formats, spiral bound, and binder insert.  Here you can see my 2017 planner on the left, and the binder insert meal planner on the right.  The meal planner coordinates perfectly with color scheme of the annual planner, and using them together makes my matchy-matchy heart skip a beat!

PTI Moments Inked Meal Planner

I love that with the binder insert version, you are able to integrate the pages right into your daily planner (as seen in yesterday's post) or dedicate a binder just for meal planning as I have shown here.  Dinner is the hardest meal of the day for us, so I have dedicated this page of my meal planner to weekly dinner planning, but there are three lines for every day of the week to allow for breakfast, lunch and dinner planning.  To the right of that column, there is a recipe location column to note where the recipe for that meal can be found, and next to that, there are check boxes to remind you to defrost, advance prep, or put something in the slow cooker.

PTI Moments Inked Meal Planner

I am wanting to teach my children how to cook, so I plan to create step-by-step cards for easier meals to start, and as they get comfortable in the kitchen, work up to harder recipes.  I diecut the Moments Inked Die Pages from white cardstock, and stamped lines from Moments Inked: Posted II.  I wrote step by step instructions for our beef stew dinner, and can easily remove the page and stick it on the kitchen counter for my son's to tackle dinner prep.

PTI Moments Inked Meal Planner

On the back side of the meal planner insert page, is a perforated grocery list, separated by category, for making grocery shopping a breeze!  Write your list for the week for only the meals you have planned!  Money saved!  And time saved too, as it's already mapped out for you what you need to pick up in each department of the grocery store!

PTI Moments Inked Meal Planner

When you unfold the page, there is an additional shopping list for categories not listed on the front page, an errands column and room for notes.  I tend to try and group my errands together to minimize excess running around, and dedicate one day of the week for errands, and seeing everything listed in one place is quite helpful for me.

PTI Moments Inked Meal Planner

The perforated tear-out grocery list is one of my favorite features.  I love that you can leave it intact and take your whole meal planner to the store, or tear it off, and take only the list (If you can remember to and don't leave it on the counter like me! LOL!)

PTI Moments Inked Meal Planner

All-in-all, I think the Moments Inked Meal Planner is a great addition to the Moments Inked lineup.  It is clean and simple, and very easy to use.  The bright pops of color add fun to the pages, and make meal planning and grocery shopping not so much of a chore!  I am looking forward to seeing how much money I save in 2017 by planning out my meals, and only shopping for what we will use for the week.  That will minimize leftover and waste greatly, and save money for us in the process.

If you have't already, check the meal planner!  At $25 for the binder inserts and $30 for the spiral version, the price point is excellent.  55 weekly meal planner pages are included, which means you can plan out the whole year without having to buy more pages!

We'd love for you to share your Moments Inked Memory Planner or Meal Planner pages with us!  Use the hashtag #momentsinked on Instagram or facebook to show us what you are doing!

That's all for me today!  Thanks so much for stopping by! :)

Moments Inked Meal Planner - Holiday Baking

**This is my second post today! If you are looking for my post for Reverse Confetti, please scroll down**

Hello there!  Today I have a bit of inspiration for you using the Papertrey Ink Moments Inked Planner and the new Moments Inked Meal Planner!  I love incorporating the Meal Planner pages into my ring binder to aid in my holiday baking preparations!

First, let me snow you the my week laid out... I love keeping with the color scheme each month, and December's color scheme is a beautiful one!  I'm really enjoying dressing up my pages with a little quick and easy ink blending and some of  my favorite images.  These snowflakes are from Tremendous Treat Christmas.

PTI Moments Inked

I  used an ink blending tool to add some light color to my page, stamped the fun snowflakes, and then got to work filling in my week.  I first added in plan for each type of cookie that I plan to bake each day. I blocked off the bottom half of each column with fun new washi that was just added to the PTI store!  Then, I added the rest of the week's activities using images from Moments Inked: Divided, and Moments Inked: Planner Banners, along with Moments Inked: Everyday Symbols.  Seeing everything laid out will give me a better idea of when I can get my baking in every day.  I chose recipes that I hope will freeze well.  If not, we will have LOTS of cookies to eat in a hurry!

PTI Moments Inked

Here you can see the adjoining page... I made sure to add my step counts and step goals to the bottom of the column for each day, because with baking comes taste testing, and I have to get my activity in so that I don't gain 10 pounds before 2017.  I used the Moments Inked: Active Symbols.  Such a great set for tracking your fitness goals!

PTI Moments Inked

Enter the meal planner!  Papertrey has recently released a new Meal Planner! I will have a more indepth review for you tomorrow so be on the lookout for that!  The meal planner is available in spiral bound and binder format. Here, I used the binder version so that it could be easily incorporated directly into my weekly planner.

PTI Moments Inked

With one click of the binder, I have a meal planning insert.  Love it!  I used an insert to keep me on track for which type of cookie I plan to bake each day, where I can locate the recipe, and if I need to defrost dough or prepare ingredients in advance.  This will be especially helpful for those who do a lot of holiday baking to give as gifts, or participate in cookie exchanges, or plan baking as a fun family holiday activity.

PTI Moments Inked

The amazing thing about the meal planner pages is that they open up to hold all sorts of important lists and info (more on that tomorrow).  Here you can see my grocery list, and errands that I need to run pertaining to my holiday baking, and any important info that I need to keep in mind, like allergy info, who I can to gift cookies to, how many batches I need to make, etc.  And of course, I had to decorate the page!  A bit more ink blending and an adorable little gingerbread man from Tremendous Treats makes things festive and gets me in the holiday baking mood!! :)

I hope you were inspired by my post today!  Be sure to share your planners with us on Instagram using the hashtag #momentsinked .  We'd love to see how you are using your Moments Inked Planner and Meal Planner! :)

Papertrey Ink Moments Inked - Planner Pages with Pizzaz!

Hi there!  I have a fun post for you today featuring the Papertrey Ink Moments Inked Planner!

I really love pulling out my card making supplies to dress up the pages of my planner!  We use our planners, in our every day lives, and some weeks you just need a little extra happy to get through life!  I love opening the pages of my planner to find bright colors, and fun images.  It makes daily, sometimes boring tasks, a little more fun!  Dress up your pages for the upcoming holidays, or pull out your favorite stamp sets and dies, and use them to bring life to the pages of your planner!

PTI Moments Inked Planner

For this weekly spread, I wanted to decorate my pages for halloween using one of my favorite PTI stamp sets, Tremendous Treats Halloween, along with a few other favorites!  I wanted to keep the color scheme something that would coordinate with the October color scheme, and I am quite happy with how things turned out!  Here is the full weekly spread.  As you can see, I used a variety of products - stamps, dies, ink, copic markers, cardstock, patterned paper, felt...  I just pulled out my card making supplies and created on planner pages rather than a card base!  So fun!

PTI Moments Inked Planner

I added the biggest elements first, and let my weekly events be written in around them.  One of the biggest elements is the Picket Fence die, cut from kraft cardstock, inked with brown ink, and just in front of it sits the cute little jack-o-lantern from the Tremendous Treats Halloween stamp set, colored in copics, with white gel pen accents.  I glued everything down with a glue pen so that when my planner is closed, it stays flat and there is no bulk.  I used the Moments Inked: Everyday Symbols, Moments Inked: Active Symbols, Moments Inked: Divided, and the Moments Inked: Planner Banners stamp set to stamp other elements on this page, as well as the adjacent page.

PTI Moments Inked Planner

Here is the entire left hand side of the spread, up close.  I love the fun that patterned paper, cut using the Moments Inked: Boxed die, adds to the page.  I don't normally use that area in my planner but adding a pop of color and a cute pattern helps it from looking like something is missing from the page.

PTI Moments Inked Planner

I used Aqua Mist ink and a sponge blending tool to incorporate another favorite card making technique into my planner pages.  This paper takes the ink beautifully and though it is hard to see in the photos, it really highlights the amazing linen texture in the paper.

PTI Moments Inked Planner

Here is the right side of the spread close up.  On these pages, I used the same stamp sets mentioned above, along with another favorite, Brushed Off.  I love how it looks like Limeade Ice colored slime on this halloween themed spread.

I couldn't have a halloween themed project without pulling out my Spiderweb Trio dies!  I wait all year to use them!  And the spider from Tremendous Treats is perfect on the middle sized web.  How cute is he!?  I diecut tiny stars using the Star Gazer die collection and some Summer Sunrise cardstock.

I hope you were inspired to go add some pizzaz to your planner pages!  Be sure to share your planners with us on Instagram using the hashtag #momentsinked .  We'd love to see how you are using your Moments Inked Planner! :)

Papertrey Ink Moments Inked

Hello there!  Today I have a post to share with you using products from the Moments Inked line from Papertrey Ink!  With all of the craziness of school starting, and football season upon us, I wanted to simplify my pages a bit.  Life is crazy as it is, and I didn't want to be overwhelmed when I opened my planner.  I love the Moments Inked Everyday Symbols and Moments Inked Active Symbols for this purpose.  The little icons are perfect for stamping a quick image that is easier for the eye to catch than a bunch of written words.  Here is a look at my full page spread for the week.

PTI Moments Inked

I like to pair the symbols with other stamp sets too.  The Brushed Off stamp set is perfect for highlighting or blocking out an area in your planner, plus it just looks so fun!  Here you can see one of the images from that stamp set, which fits almost perfectly in the planner column.  I used Hibiscus Burst ink to coordinate with the color scheme for August.  The little circle images from the Moments Inked Divided Stamp set are also great for documenting important things.  You could even color code them to make it even easier to see things at a glance.  Here I used the "school" circle to note an appointment with my boys' school.  The patterned rectangles from the Moments Inked Planner Banners stamp set are more great images for this purpose.

PTI Moments Inked

I love the variety of symbols that you have between the two Moments Inked Symbols stamp sets.  Here I used the little football helmet and practice stamp from the Moments Inked Active Symbols stamp set and the finger tied with a string from the Moments Inked Everyday Symbols stamp set.  They are all illustrated in the same manner so they work perfectly together.

PTI Moments Inked

There will be times where I need more info.  Sometimes you just can't get away from writing stuff down, but I love that it can all be included within the daily columns as long as I keep it short and sweet.  It eliminates the need for a separate list, keeping the clutter to a minimum.  Here I used the "shopping" icon from the Moments Inked Divided stamp set as a header from my shopping list, and just added bullet points below.

PTI Moments Inked

I hadn't been doing much with my monthly layout. With my son's crazy football schedule, I wanted to see the entire month laid out, and the little icon images fit perfectly in the squares of the monthly calendar.  I added all of his practices and games, and made quick notes about location.  On the left side of the page, I used to column to keep track of the game scores.  It will be fun to look back on I think.

PTI Moments Inked

Here is another example where color coding came in handy.  I can see at a quick glace that practices are noted in orange and games are noted in green.  It coordinates, it looks pretty, and it makes things easier to decipher on the run!

PTI Moments Inked

That's all for me today!  We'd love to see how you are using your Moments Inked Planner!  Share your photos on instagram and use the hashtag #momentsinked so we can find you!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!  Have a great day! :)

Moments Inked Planner {Papertrey Ink}

Hello there!  Today I have a Papertrey Ink Moments Inked Planner post to share with you!

I don't know about you, but for me, summer time is  a time to relax!  The crazy schedules that go along with the school year calm down, vacations (or stay-cations) are planned, and for me, that means more time to read!  I've got my summer reading list on my mind, and I plan to use my Moments Inked Planner to help with my summer reading goals.

Moments Inked Planner

I want to carve out little blocks of time to insure that I am reading a minimum number of minutes per week.  Depending on the week's schedule, I want to add reading reminders to my planner.  There is an adorable little book icon in the Moments Inked: Everyday Symbols stamp set that is perfect for this.  I stamped the book on several days, added the little polkadot box image from the Moments Inked: Planner Banners stamp set, and the goal box from Moments Inked: Active Symbols.  To add a bit more fun to the page, I used the Moments Inked: Boxed dies to cut patterned box fillers using the Beautiful Beads Pink and Orange Paper Pack.  I like using this paper in my planner boxes because it is thin and doesn't add any extra bulk to my pages.

Moments Inked Planner

I borrow a lot of the books that I read from my library, and it's tough to remember when books on reserve need to be picked up, or when books are due back,  I love the "tie a string around my finger" icon in the Moments Inked: Everyday Symbols for that!  The word "library" is also included in that set.

Moments Inked Planner

At the beginning of every month on the quote page, I added a little list so that I can keep my reading list for the month.  I am aiming to read at least one book per week over the summer :)  To create my list, I used the 3x3 white post it notes, the Moments Inked: Posted Stamp set and the "To Read" sentiment from the Moments Inked: Listed stamp set.

Moments Inked Planner

Often, I like to keep notes or jot down memorable quotes or passages from the books that I am reading.  I created a page specifically for that using the Moments Inked: Basic Pages dies.  I cut a page from white cardstock, then the lines image from the Moments Inked: Posted II stamp set in Orange Zest Ink.  I added a strip of patterned paper to the top to tie in with the adjacent page, and stamped the title frame from Moments Inked: Listed, with the "highlights" sentiment from Moments Inked: Remembered stamp set in  black ink.  And how cute is that little bow clip?!  I made a bunch in different colors using the Bow Clips die and Papertrey Ink felt.  This one is Orange Zest.

I hope you are feeling inspired to keep track of your summer reading goals!  We'd love to see how you are using your Moments Inked Planner!  Share your pictures on instagram using the #momentsinked hashtag!

Moment's Inked Planner - Health and Fitness Tracking {Papertrey Ink}

Hello there!  Today I have a fun post to share with you to show you how I plan to use my Papertrey Ink Moments Inked Planner as a fitness journal of sorts.  The Moments Inked: Active Symbols stamp set is perfect for this!  Here is a photo of the full spread, but I will go into further detail below.  Grab a cuppa your favorite beverage and keep reading :)

Fitness Journal

On the left side of my weekly spread, I used the shopping cart and shopping bag images from the Moments Inked: Everyday Symbols stamp set to set up a little shopping list area.  On the top, I made a list of a few healthy food choices that I need to stock up on that the grocery store this week.  Below that is a list of wishlist items that I will consider purchasing if I reach my fitness goals for the week/month, etc.  You will see that on Sunday, I planned to download some new running songs, indicated by the download symbol, also from Moments Inked: Everyday Symbols stamp set.

Fitness Journal

Mondays are my weigh-in day, so I added a little scale icon as a reminder.  I also used the prescription bottle from Moments Inked: Everyday Symbols and the tiny check box from the Moments Inked: Posted II stamp set to add reminders every day to take my multivitamin.

Fitness Journal

At the bottom of each daily column, I stamped the steps box from Moments Inked: Active Symbols to keep track of my daily step count.  The FitBit app is great, but seeing the number on paper is more encouraging for me.  On the days that I need to charge my Fitbit, I added a little reminder from the Moments Inked: Everyday Symbols stamp set.

Fitness Journal

One of my fitness goals is to complete the Couch to 5k running program.  I added the little running shoe from Moments Inked: Active Symbols to the days that I plan to either walk or run.  By adding the text images next to the little shoe, I can circle either walk or run, depending on which activity I do, and add my time, and calories burned, as well as keep track of my heart rate while active.

Fitness Journal

Friday, I am hoping to try out a yoga class, and there is a cute little yoga symbol in the Moments Inked: Active Symbols.  Along the top border of the right page, I added up and down arrows.  I will circle one at the end of the week depending on how well the week goes.  I have also considered using the arrows for weight loss or gain each week.  I am not sure which way I will go with that yet.

Fitness Journal

Finally, I stamped a lined insert using the Moments Inked: Notepad Refill, the Moments Inked: Edged dies and lined image from the Moments Inked: Posted II stamp set.  I plan to cut a put a new one along with the pages for each week so that I can track the good and the bad for the week.  I want to keep track of my victories - big and small, and also make note of things that I would like to change or improve on based on the outcome of each week.

Fitness Journal
