M is for Merry (Blogging From A To Z)

Welcome to Blogging From A To Z with Pin & Tack.
A letter inspires a post every day in April.

Today's letter is . . .

Merry meet & merry drink. It's a play on the old Wiccan sayings. I enjoy the charm of it and I have many friends that enjoy wine, so a combination of the two? I hope you like :)

I have been partaking in a new journey of digital arts, so here is a freebie - The first of, hopefully, many that I will share with you.

These 3.5" x 2.5" tags are for personal use only. Print them for your next get together, punch a hole and tie to the glass with twine. Ta-dah! A rustic delight for your guests . . . Click here or the photo to download.

No Charm Equal To . . .

Did you know? Pin & Tack's arts & craft challenge - Craft It Up - ends on Friday.
It's an easy, peasy challenge 'cause you can create ANYTHING as long as it includes a heart or "love."
If the upcoming big L day is not inspiring enough, here is a digital creation for you . . .

I used digital papers from Jennifer Scraps, which are FREE for anyone. The best part - at least for myself - is the photos used: Apple Red Rose Thumb Tacks.

With every purchase of these or anything else in the shop, Animal Place will receive $1 from it. But you have other options to support them. Donate directly or share a craft in the challenge as every entry earns them $0.10.

I have also entered this creation into the following challenges: {PIN}spirational Challenges & Mojo Monday. Pop by there for additional crafty inspiration.

4 Glittery Sayings To Share

Glitter, oh, so lovely glitter. It's meant to be shared. At least, that's what I believe. And, the fact, that you can't help it. When using glitter, you can't stop it from getting on everything!

I used photos of my glittery creations to bring a smile. You are welcome to share them as long as you don't alter the photos in ANY way. Please be kind & respectful - Thank you :)

{PIN}spirational Challenges #5

This card is completely different than what I usually create. It came out very "altered art/mixed media." It also has two of my favorite colors together - red & light blue. I love it!

It's a little hard to see in the photo, but I added netting under the cap that lays over her eyes to act as a birdcage veil.

W is for Wild

W is for wild - Wild animal, that is. This card is all about the wild animal print. Flowers have layers of cardstock AND fabric with animal print on them. The highlight? A super cute zebra holds two flowers by the stems.

Spring At The Beach

This card was created using Spring colors, but I also tossed in a little beach with the turquoise. (Thanks to Paper Minutes great color scheme!)

For the middle flower, I painted a chipboard shape in brown, added the polka dot detail then covered in clear glaze. I had made this piece previously, so I added more polka dots with turquoise paint to bring more of that beachy color to this piece.

Lily (A Tuesday Alchemy Sneak Preview)

Tuesday Alchemy has a new sponsor & I am very excited to introduce you to them! Pink Cat Studio will be offering a prize for Tuesday Alchemy's next challenge (starts Tuesday, May 1st.) Woohoo!

In this card, I used one of their delightful digital stamps, Lily Holding Flowers. Isn't she super sweet?

For the background, I cut squares out of the same striped paper & simply switched up the direction that the stripes go. For Lily's pigtails, I added cute little bows. I brought the same blue to the dots on her skirt to tie the color scheme together.

BIG Buttons

I had this idea to create my own paper buttons. For a challenge, I needed to go BIG or go home, so this would be perfect for that. It was simple enough: A circle, two punched holes & ribbon.

Ok, I did it. It didn't quite turn out as fantastic as I wanted. I'm going to try different ways to make the paper buttons pop more, but for now I think these will work just fine.

I chose a random selection of buttons from my stash & layered them across the button. I decided to spend the time stringing them, too. This is always a major decision for me as sometimes I just want to get things done!

Bunny Bath Time

A golden bunny takes a little "me" time in a bubble-filled bath with a cup of tea. Aaww . . can't you just feel the happiness & relaxation?

For the flower, I added glitter glue to the center before attaching beaded trim underneath it.

Pink Bird, Green Leaf, Red Sky

This card was created with simplicity. I only used three colors: green, pink & red. The embellishments are brads, leaves and ribbon.

For the squares, I embossed pink cardstock with a bird design & a bark design. It's a unique color combination & leaves a lot of empty space because you don't always have to fill up a card.

Inspire (RDB2)

Red & light blue are my favorite colors when combined together. They always are so fun & work perfectly.

Imagine (RDB1)

This card is one of 3 in a small collection that I created for my 2012 Mission: Use It. I had previously created the damask tags with blooms. Today, I finally used them. Rather than tags, they are the featured embellishment.

I used two different inks on the one stamp. It copies the reds & pinks that are found in the patterned paper for a more cohesive look.

Put A Bird On It

If you've seen the TV show, Portlandia, you will probably get my title if you happened to watch a particular episode. If you haven't, well, then you are missing out on a funny skit & maybe you should check it out.

This little bird is wet embossed, which gives it pretty texture. The scallop circle beneath has a fantastic pattern of birds that look just like it.

Baby Bear In The Window

A sweet, little bear looks out her window on beautiful Spring day. Her best friend is an equally sweet stuffed bear that goes with her on all of her imaginative journeys.

This 3D window box is filled with blooms, grass & decorated with a lovely heart banner. This flat card is more suitable for framing or displaying than giving as a greeting.

Spring Carnival

For this card, I picked a mixed up lot of embellishments. It's more collage than anything else, but the theme is definitely full of fun, play & Spring.
