It's Time To Camp

If you live in the USA, Father's Day is June 17th.
That's this Sunday if you don't keep track of the days :)
Have you made a card for your dad?

When I think about my Dad, I always think about camping. As a family, we took plenty of camping trips & still do. It's such a delight to relax next to a campfire chatting with my dad.

Bicycle Trip

It's time to take a little trip on the bike. The weather is perfect for it (if you live where I do.) I'm going to take some time & remember how to ride my bike since I haven't gotten on it in quite a few months! Luckily, you never forget . . .

I scavenged through my printed photos & found a lovely one of a Manzanita tree. It's bark naturally peels, creating a beautiful mix of colors.

Sparkle, Bloom & Bow

It is just not very cheery today. Rain, rain, rain! The local weather girl says it's "light showers" - Ha! Everything is soaked & it hasn't let up since I awoke this morning.

Itsy Bitsy Bikinis

It's Summer! If you are in Oregon like me, it may not seem like it. But it's here! If you haven't already pulled it out, it's time to get that bikini (or other swimsuit if you're not a bikini wearer) ready to wear or at least your body ready to wear it :)

Thank You

I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of my fellow design team members at Tuesday Alchemy. I dedicate this creation to all you lovely ladies! They have not only created beautiful works to inspire, but they have also been just fantastic in spreading the word of Tuesday Alchemy. Thank you, ladies!

If you would like to find out more about this fabulous group of women, you can check out their individual blogs.

Polka Dots, Stripes & Ladybugs

I told you that I would share as soon as I used my new SRM stickers! The polka dots (at the bottom) & the "happy birthday" banner are from my new collection of stickers. This creation is truly funky fun with lots of color, sweet ladybugs & one big, bold flower. I even did a little quilling for the flower's center.

Purple Pretties

For some reason, I have A LOT of purple in my supplies. I like purple. I don't love purple. Yet as I looked through my stash, it was everywhere! Hopefully, if I use as much of it as possible, I can bring in more colors that I love. (No offense to those that love purple. It's beautiful - it's just not a favorite of mine.)

I painted, distressed & sealed the tag before I embellished it. The back is painted in cream & sealed, but since it isn't very important to the piece I didn't add anything else to it. This was made as decoration more than as a "gift" tag, but either way it would be just lovely!

I wrapped a little burlap around my handmade bow & the stems of the flowers. I stamped a little flower onto the "locket"-style charm instead of filling it with paper.

BIG Buttons

I had this idea to create my own paper buttons. For a challenge, I needed to go BIG or go home, so this would be perfect for that. It was simple enough: A circle, two punched holes & ribbon.

Ok, I did it. It didn't quite turn out as fantastic as I wanted. I'm going to try different ways to make the paper buttons pop more, but for now I think these will work just fine.

I chose a random selection of buttons from my stash & layered them across the button. I decided to spend the time stringing them, too. This is always a major decision for me as sometimes I just want to get things done!

Chocolate Daisy

Cards do not always have to be extravagant! By keeping this piece clean & simple, the focus is on the wonderful colors & patterns of the flower along with the sweet organza ribbon.

I gave the ribbon shape & depth by placing only the ends under the embellishment. It makes the ribbon have a lovely "curl" to it.

Balloon Bouquet

Receiving a balloon bouquet is kind of fun, but have you tried to get it home? The balloons float all over the place in your car, blocking your view, creating a safety hazard & actually I would rather get something else . . . like this handmade card. This balloon bouquet can travel quite safely.

A is for A

A is for { fill in the blank } - It can be amazing, awesome, or someone's name. This card was created with delightful details & open to your interpretation as to what it may stand for. The "a" started out as neutral kraft cardstock that I painted & distressed, so it is shabby chic & very sweet. The butterfly was pieced together before I added bling & polka dots.

This card was inspired by three challenges - See below for link & details, so you can join in the fun & create your own card (or post about "A"):

Paper Pretties: PWC199 - Include Bling!

Buttons & Daisies

I have lots of buttons. I bought them to use, but then I never used them. Waiting for something to use them on - for something in the future - for something else. I always think "I might need them for another project." Well, enough with the waiting & enough with the storing!

I decided this circle card is perfect for these buttons. The handmade flowers add doses of bright color & actually look quite well with the soft blues of the buttons.

Pretty & Chic Banners

This card is so pretty with three layered, handmade banners strung across it. I used a monochromatic color scheme of ivory, tan & white. Very romantic & chic!

Adore

Well, the first step in any recovery is to admit you have a problem, right? Ok, here goes . . . Give me just a second . . . { Deep breath } . . . I am a hoarder . . . A craft supply hoarder, that is.

Second step, use my stuff. I used two items from my massive stash - the "Adore" mirror (which I've had for like 3 years) & the wire nest (which I made several months ago.) Yeah, yeah, I know! This is a little step as I only used two things, but I think I'm going in the right direction.

I created this card for The Pink Elephant sketch challenge, aka TPE137. Click here to join in the fun & maybe you, too, can use what you have in your own stash of supplies.
