Let's Talk Embossing - Tuesday Throwdown

So let's talk embossing, and let's also talk pattern paper.

I had this six-inch pattern paper pack from a 2015 kit.  that included a page of sentiments, some solids on the back sides of some patterns papers. I cut up the sentiments and thought, how can I dress up some of these and some solids?

And then I saw the prompt at Tuesday Throwdown.  Embossing!

Two examples below using the same background stamp and two different embossing powders.

For this one, I used Ranger Frosted Crystal embossing powder (which I love).  I completely coated the sentiment and double layered the powder so it would match the embossed background piece.

For this second one, I used some colored embossing powder for the background, but still used the crystal EP on the sentiment piece.

And I added a stamped sentiment.

I love how these turned out and may try some backgrounds with some remaining sentiment pieces,

The kit came in a box . . . and I thought outside of the box.

Fresh Coffee!

The prompt this week at CASology is FRESH!

I'm a big fan of coffee . . . I drink it black . . . and if there is one thing I like fresh, it's coffee.  Nothing like a fresh cup of coffee.  I'm a coffee snob.

I dug out this old kit from Simon Says stamp, and while the kit may be old, that little cup of coffee is fresh!

I hope you find some time to create today!

Debbie

Thank You for Stamp Ink Paper

This post has a sad ending for the card (check out the last paragraph of the post).

These were inspired by Stamp Ink Paper, I created this thank you card.  Two versions that I'm posting . . . positive images and negative of both the background and negative dies.

So first, created a watercolor background and die cut the background, saving all pieces.
Also die cut from white cardstock.

Then did ink to paper to create my sentiment (cut from a die).

Card one . . . the negative pieces of the watercolor piece inlaid into the positive piece of the white die.  (Am I making sense?)  The positive of the sentiment die (along with it's shadow piece).

The placement of the pieces back into the white die was like a puzzle.  1) fun . . . and 2) random!  I did not put them in their original space.  I also used a green background piece.

My second card has the positive of the cover die, along with the negative pieces of the sentiment die.

I did cut a second  shadow die for the sentiment.

Card one gets my vote . . both for fun in the construction and the look of that amazing sentiment die.

Thankfully I photographed them . . . before "the incident".  A 4-month old puppy ate the corners on both cards, rendering them garbage.  Keep those cards safe.

Twinkle, Twinkle for House Mouse & Friends

My go to House Mouse stamp . . . that I adore to stamp . . . adore to color is this guy . . .

Is it the predicament of being tangled in Christmas decorations?  Or is it that I get to use multiple colors of lights to create the cuteness?   Either way, entering into the House Mouse & Friends Monthly Challenge

Adore this stamp.

I hope you find some time to stamp.

Cupcake Truck Treat Box

I couldn't resist attempting this one.  I adore the stamp set, and I thought it would be perfect to turn it into a little treat box.  Entering this one into the Just Add Ink challenge.

Both sides of the box have the little cupcake/coffee truck.  Hoping to put a gift card to a cupcake shop or coffee shop as a gift to someone.  I had so much fun piecing this little guy together.

And how about that frosting!  And the awning!  And the shiny tires!  And the cardboard wrapper on that coffee cup.  And the shiny shelf the cupcakes and coffee are sitting on.

There will be another version . . . can't wait for it.

I hope you found some time to create today.

Used sequins to resemble ornaments and lights.

And a version in red . . .

I used jewels for this version.

I'm definitely a fan of team white!

Happy Birthday, Dude!

Inspired the "Happy Birthday Dude" prompt at Shopping Our Stash, I created a masculine card from a card kit that is my go to for masculine cards.  The stamps, dies and paper just lend themselves to cards for guys.

I love creating metal objects from a die cut using metallic embossing powder.  My shiny metal sailboat started as just white paper.

And yes . . . ribbon isn't masculine, but the right color and how it's used makes a difference for sure.

Go create!  :)

Pattern Paper Embossing

I was inspired by two challenges to pull out some supplies and create a few cards. The supplies came from an old Simon Says Stamp card kit, and I wanted to do some heat embossing onto pattern papers to create some simple cards.

This first one was inspired by the prompt "thank you" at Always Fun Challenges.  For this one I stamped the border and the sentiment in Versamark and embossed in white, and then used some white snowflake sequins and pearls.

My second card was inspired the photo inspiration at Just Add Ink

I was inspired by the snow in the scene and the consistent look the trees.

For this card, I used silver embossing powder and silver snowflakes.

Beautiful Heart

Created a CAS card with some layers for CASology this week . . . the cue this week was "compliment".

Here is my card, and I created it in a few colors.  The compliment . . . "You have the most beautiful heart."

The first and last one are the same ink colors, but I stamped off on this first one to get a lighter color.  I think it's my favorite.  And this next one is definitely brighter!

And again, same colors as that first one, but achieved a lighter version by doing some second generation stamping.

Love the two step stamping.  Fun stuff!

I hope you find some time to create today.

Kindness Changes Everything

A little bit of kindness for AAA Cards

One layer cards are usually tough for me, and only a sentiment on this one.  But the focal word packs a punch with two layers of color.

I had a second card with one additional layer of color.  I think less is more . . . preferred the first one.  But always fun to experiment.

I hope you find some time to create today.

You've Got This

Sharing this card I created using paper and epoxy stickers from a card kit in my stash.  The colors did lend themselves to breast cancer awareness, so I pulled a stamp from CAS-ual Fridays

The colors in the pattern papers did lend themselves to breast cancer awareness, so I pulled a stamp from CAS-ual Fridays and had to use that "Don't quit" puffy sticker.

I hope you find some time to create today.

Choose Kindness . . . Just Us Girls Color Inspired

Sharing a card inspired by the colors at Just Us Girls.

For this one, I started by creating a colorful watercolor background with some emboss resist.

The purple and green can get a bit muddy, so I had to be careful to keep them a bit separate.

And that "kind" stamp and die . . . LOVE it.

I hope you find some time to create.

Enjoy the Little Things in Life

Enamel dots were the challenge element at Use Your Stuff.  Oh but what to do . . . use enamel dots with adhesive, or create my own.

I do love my enamel accents.  I've used them to color, which creates dimension on items.  Today I used a stamp from Pretty Pink Post that has guidelines for dots.  You can use whatever you want to fill the dots, or I suppose not fill them at all. I used my enamel accents to fill mine and suffice for the challenge.  Or is that cheating.

Little dots . . . with a reminder to enjoy the little things.  I had to keep a steady hand.

I hope you find some time to create today.

Stencil Inspired

Sharing two cards created for World Card Making Day and using a stencil, which was inspired from Little Red Wagon.

This one was inspired by brick, and I used some new, cool product that was in my stash to give it a metallic look.

My second card was also created using a stencil.  This one used distress oxide inks.

This one is a bit simpler, but was perfect for a sympathy card.

I hope you find some time to create very soon.

Cheers!
