Sending Smiles Woodland Creatures

It's nearly every day that I see our "neighborhood" rabbit come out of the wooded area and into the clearing. Sometimes it happens multiple times a day, despite how fired up my miniature schnauzer gets to see them.

This card was inspired by the Lawn Fawnatics challenge and our rabbit friend and made me think of forest animals coming out to the meadow to case butterflies and enjoy the sunshine.

I chose the rabbit and the fox. We don't see fox often, but have seen them run across the wooded area of the backyard. So I thought he was the right character to be chasing a butterfly. They always seem to be on the move.

Another look at the dimension and sparkle.

Love creating fun scenes with critters and hope you find some time to do the same.

Debbie

Just Add Party Fun!

The Just Add Ink challenge this week was to . . .

I created a bit of a party on a card with some critters.

I created my background using slimline cover die and gave the illusion of grass and sky. My pieces were all colored using my Copic markers.

It's hard to see the sparkle of the glaze pen on the ties of the banner. It added a really nice shimmer.

Adorable critters, and I hope they are enjoying their fun celebration.

Cheers!

Birds of a Feather

I've been so lax in creating and posting . . . work gets in the way yet again.  I decided to get crafty with a challenge, and here's a little something with wings for the Just Add Ink Challenge.

For this one I used a mix of products, including one of my favorite stamp sets.  Come on!  Birds with scarves!

After coloring the scarves, I heat embossed with some embossing glitter.  A combo of stencils and stamps were used for my background pieces.

I hope you are able to create today!

A Gator Ate My "H"!

I was inspired to make a humorous card for Little Red Wagon.  I wasn't sure where my card was going, but eventually it ended with the gator eating my H!

The front of my card has a pop-up element.  The sentiment and alligator are one-half inch out from the card in an element that was really easy to create and fold in to fit into an A2 envelope.

Originally I had my alligator biting the "H", and then before I knew it, he chomped it right off.

You can never predict what the critters on your card are going to do.

Happy crafting!

With a Little Help From My Friends

Created a little card with lots of friends on it.  My pups are my best friends!  I was inspired by the prompt at Little Red Wagon

A friend gifted this stamp to me a few months ago, and I created a card with little pups that were gray and black.  I wanted to try a similar card full of friends in a rainbow of colors.  So I became one with ROYGBP for this card.

I rainbow-a-tized the classes on the outside of the card, and the pups stamped on the inside of the card.

And here's a better look at the inside . . .

Precious pups!

I hope you find some time to create a friendship card today!

Awesome Pups for Cupcake Inspiration

How about a little something creative?  I've been falling off track with creativity because work has been a beast lately.  Here's a little card I created inspired by Cupcake Inspirations.  And the prompt was this little yummy goodness . . .

And no one loves their pets more than me (OK, maybe you love yours too).  These are two of mine and they have a faux shadow thing going on the background which is the inside of the card.

I learned this technique from my favorite crafty place, StampNation.  I manually trimmed out the front panel, and then created that inside panel.  My friend gave me the stamp because she said it looked my girls.

So yes, this is Sweet Caroline and Jojo Marie . . . both named from songs.  Sweet Caroline named in honor of my dad who was (and still is in heaven) a Red Sox fan.  The Neil Diamond song is an event all by itself at Fenway Park!  And then that's Jojo who was named after the Beatles song, Get Back (Jojo was a . . . ), in honor of my brother who used to belt that song at gigs.  We gave her a middle name.  We gave her a last name too.  She is Jojo Marie Sanchez.  She answers to Miss Sanchez (she really does).

Thanks for the Cupcake Inspiration!  I hope you find some time to create.

Holly Jolly Stencil Fun for Christmas Craft Creations

This month's challenge at Christmas Craft Creations was stenciling.  I've become a huge fan of stenciling whether is blending inks over them or getting crazy with some shaving cream and ink.  Today I used some layering stencils to create a background, and then used those same ink colors to color some stamped images.

There were three stencils in my layering set, and I decided to use two off them and blend on some Martini and Uptown ink from Catherine Pooler.

My stamp set has these adorable birds with scarves, and so I stamped one and used the same inks to color.  I also stamped some hearts onto my stenciled background and heat set some embossing glitter onto them.  And then there is all the added sparkle!  What's not to love about added sparkle?

I do love mixing up my supplies.  Stencils from Close To My Heart; stamps and dies from Catherine Pooler Designs, and a sentiment die/banner from Concord & 9th.  Finding ways to creatively mix it up is so much fun.

I hope you find some time to create!

Two Cards for Two Challenges

Created two cards using a card kit that still had some supplies left.  The first one is for Use Your Stuff challenge, where the prompt was snow.

I stamped and fussy cut my penguins and my igloo.  I let my pattern paper serve as that snowy background and used a "snow" sentiment.  And my igloo gets that sheen from me piping some Liquid Glass . . . ice block by ice block!

And using the same kit of supplies and the inspiration from Always Fun Challenge, I created a second card and used up my kit!  For this one, the prompt was Snowman.

For this one, I stamped and fussy cut my snowman, along with stamped and fussy cut mittens, hat and scarf.

I hope you find some time to create today.

Two More to Share

I'm sharing two more cards today.

First up, for Just Add Ink, a card created using supplies from Studio Calico's recent card kit.  Just Add Ink had a sketch . . .

JAI #275

And here is my card . . .

The interesting element to this card is the scratch off circle, which was perfect for this sketch.  Beneath that scratch area, the phrase is completed.  I meant to take a photo of what's below the scratch area, but I completely forgot.  What's beneath it is a stamped butterfly with the sentiment of "thanks".

My second card was inspired by this week's Simon Says Stamp Challenge . . . Simon Says Food and/or Drink.  Here is my card . . .

These panels were taken from the Simon Says Stamp August card kit and seemed perfect for this card.  Lemonade and frozen treats!  Yum.  For the sentiment, I filled in my stamped image with the awesome Sakura pen that came in the kit.

Go get crafty!

Shades of Green for Merry Monday

Today's card was inspired by the Merry Monday challenge.  I have been wanting to use this stamp, all the while knowing that it covers a good portion of the card.  That is always something I struggle with . . . full images!  It prevents me from lots of layering.  But this images was just too cute not to use.

I actually used three shades of green . . . Mossy Meadow for my card base (which is super dark), Lucky Limeade for my background panel and the coloring of my image, and the ribbon is technically Old Olive.

I used a a metallic pen to outline all of the snowy areas . . . the flakes, the drifts and the snowman.  I made the decision with coloring only items that would be anything other than neutral, and then I colored them green, of course.

Now that I've christened my stamp with a "flat" use, I have an idea to use it differently in the coming weeks . . . wait for it.  Maybe next week's challenge will be the opportunity (and then again, maybe not).

Cheers!
