Design Team Delights for Challenge #28--SHARING

It is time to share our favourite entries for Challenge #28.  As always, in each challenge you, the readers, get to voice your opinion by voting for your favourite and so it is only fitting that my Design Team get to do so as well.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to join along our Path during the month of July for Challenge #28.   Check out the entries that really caught our attention...
 Katrina--chosen by Monica...

Here is what Monica had to say:
"My DT delight is Katrina (her first entry). I have to admit, sometimes long stories are hard to get through, but this story touched my heart and I am so glad you shared."

To see the details of Katrina's creation and read more of what she had to say click HERE.
Pippa--chosen by Desíre & Sandy...

Here is what Desíre had to say:
"My DT delight is Pippa.  She creates these beautiful and fun bookmarks for every child at the school she works, at the end of every summer term."

Sandy said this:
"My DT delight is also Pippa.  Making bookmarks is such a generous and sharing gesture... knowing that each one has a little piece of her...awesome!"

 Darlene--chosen by Pat...

This is what Pat had to say:
"I choose Darlene P as my DT Delight.  Her use of water colors, torn paper, stamping and the colors all come together to form a beautiful project."

To see the details of Darlene's creation and read more of what she had to say click HERE.
Create with Joy--chosen by Suze...

Here is what Suze had to say:
"My DT delight is Create with Joy (her second entry).  I love the layout of the card but also the thought behind the card":

"Through the magic of the Internet, and the fellowship of WOYWW, Eliza blessed and enriched so many of our lives.  My heart always brightened whenever I visited her and Yoda the Cat or found a comment from her on my blog."

Teresa--chosen by Julie...

Julie had this to say:
"Teresa's card is my choice as a DT Delight (her first entry).  I love her watercolor birds.  They are so striking.  I also like that she shared one with her neighbor.  After all, that's what the theme of this challenge was all about!"

Katrina--chosen by Lisa (that's me)...

My DT delight this time around is Katrina (her second entry).  There is just something really cool about this vintage looking Christmas card.  I love the contrast of colours, the cool background and fabulous layout.  The thing I love the most is that she plans on sharing this card (well maybe not this one but definitely others) for a special event called Cards4Love which is a card drive is for the US military and St. Jude's Children's Hospital (a well renowned children's research hospital in the US).  Sending your cards to a card drive like this one is an excellent way to exemplify the concept of sharing!

Creative Congratulations to all of you!

Challenge #28-SHARING-Midway & Voting Reminder

Hello everyone! We have reached the midway point of Challenge #28. The theme for this challenge is all about SHARING.   As usual, I am going to share a little introspection with you all that I am also presenting on my own personal blog in my "Motivational Monday" feature.

A Joy That is Shared Is a Joy Made Double

In this month's Pondering Along the Pathway,  Pat made reference to the idea that:
"The universe moves towards maintaining balance, so what you give to others eventually comes back to you. In fact, if you want to multiply the things in your life that matter—health, balance, happiness—you need to share what you already have!"
This is a concept that I learned about many, many years ago but I think I lost track of it for a while.  It was nice to be reminded again of how important it is share what you have with the rest of the world and if you are lucky enough, you'll benefit from the effort that you yourself have put out.

Now I know that many of us are not in a position to share too much of our money these days with the financial woes that affect people across North America and beyond.  However, it isn't always about sharing our money.  The simple act of sharing a smile with a stranger can potentially help lift that person's mood.  Can you imagine if the smile you shared ended up resulting in 1000 more smiles shared due to the ripple effect it caused?!  How wonderful would that be to know that a simple act could create so much happiness.

Or how about sharing a bit of our time with someone in need?  Whether volunteering with a charitable organization or simply spending time with someone who is going through a difficult patch, taking some time out of our busy schedules to come to the aid of another is definitely another way we can share ourselves with the world around us.

As card makers, we have the ability to do so much more sharing.  Our talents can help to lift someone's spirits with a simple 'thinking of you' card.  Sending a 'get well' card to someone recovering from illness may be just the medicine they need to give them that final push back into wellness. Sharing 'birthday wishes' with someone you normally wouldn't think to send a card to may help to bring just a bit of happiness to that person.  The simple act of creating and sending a card to someone shows that person that someone cares and that they are not alone.

Whatever it is that you share--your time, your money, your talents--remember that "a joy shared is a joy made double" (Proverbs).  If you are lucky, some of that goodness will be doubled back on you.
Here are the watermarks and links for the wonderful images that the team worked with for the midway.
