winter days

Hi my friends, and once again Happy New year.
Hope the first week of 2011 have been good for you all.
I feel like 2011 will be a good year.
I have started building a new kitchen in my house - old walls are torn down, sun and daylight will fill my new kitchen.

But it is a long walk to get there...

Here are a couple of scrapbooking projects I have been playing around with the last days.

Winter is here, and we enjoy the short, but beautiful winterdays. ...and my winter pictures need to be scrapped as well.

Had so much fun creating this layout ( above )

Used lots of cracle-paint ( white and "old paper") and glimmer mists and gltter glue on this ( it doesent show very well in the picture tho....)

On this layout I painted a rusty snowflake with white cracle paint - it made it look so cool and kind of frozen. :)
Have a great weekend

The Nutcracker

Today I went to Oslo Opera hall with my kids to see the Nutcracker ballet.
This is a tradition of ours, and the ballet is SO beautiful, and always brings us all in to the right Christmas mood.
This year it was special, because it was the first year ( for us ) visiting the new opera-house.
Last year it was all sold out, and we were not able to get any tickets, so this year the kids ( and I ) was totally happy and excited to go to the opera-hall.
You can find more pictures from this 2010 Nutcracker HERE

I have made a little Christmas card and a giftbag with the fun Cosmo cricket christmas line.

Tomorrow I'll go hunting for this years christmas tree.
:)
oh, you think I'm late??!!??
Well, we usually put up our tree at the 23rd ... so it is still time ....
:)

happy weekend

Hi my friends.
Hope you enjoy your december, creating, decorating, making gifts and cards...

Today was our first sunday with no plans ( in our family ) in a very long time, and we SO enjoyed just to hang around the house.
It snowed here in Oslo Yesterday evening, and today everything outside was clean and white and beautiful.
I grabbed the chance and had a really fun christmas photo-shoot with my kids.
Will show more photos later. ;)
I have created some simple digital christmas cards to share.
I love to create cards with real paper and glue and embellishments and all that ....
but when december arrives, and the most important thing is to make sure all the people I love and care for will have a greeting from us in their mailbox, these last years I have made some digicards using my own design.
print them, write a personal message in the journaling spot and mail it (snail mail )

This is a perfect solution for me.

So maybe you'll like a simple solution like this as well.
I created two PNG files, one english, one norwegian for you to download.

ENJOY!

outdoor decorations

Welcome.
It is already the second day of december.
I know this season will fly by so fast, and I want to enjoy every second of it.
Today my Home for chRistmas blogpost will be all about outdoor decorations.
It is freezing cold in Oslo, about minus 20 degrees Celcius outside my window.
Brrr
Anyhow I love the winter, the little layer of snow that covers the ground and the beautiful winter-light.
I enjoy ice-skating and skiing, but after being out for a while it is wonderful to get home.

I tried to make the area outside my door welcoming and pretty with some cute, rustic decorations.

I have a vintage-looking birdhouse, where it actually is room for a real bird to come in, and if they like I have some little seeds inside the house for the birds to eat.

I also used some felted hearts and some grain sheaf ( nek in norwegian ) along with the bird-house and with two lantherns.
I have some real vintage wooden fruit boxes outside my door to put my decorations inside and on top.
It is hard for the birds to find something to eat during the winter, and I thought i was nice to welcome the birds to my front door as well as it looks pretty for my friends and family when they come home.

This moss-and-twig-heart is simply decorated with a leaf I found on the ground and a felted heart.
The moss-and-twig-heart is bought in a flower-shop, but it is possible to make one too using twigs and thin metal wire, and decorate with moss.
I found a really cute heart here at the " sweet Paul" blog .
Have a great day, and enjoy the season!

Winter in Oslo

Hi.
Hope you all have had a great weekend.
It has been a winter-like weekend here in Oslo, cold and snow.
Today it was grey, and windy as well .... perfect for indoor activities, like scrapbooking ( in my opinion ;) )
But my girls, and hubby was more than happy to go outside - it was the first day of ice on our local field - so they could go ice skating. Could it be better!!??!! LOL
...I just had to go take some photos of them ....

...and then run home to scrap the photos ....

:)
All Cosmo Cricket "Mitten weather" chipboards on this layout.

These three layouts are all made for the Fall Crop challenges over at Cocoa Daisy.

I had so much fun attending this crop last weekend. And fortunately we had until today to finish the layouts and post them in the gallery. Thanks for stopping by.

Have a great week.

first snow

This morning we woke up to the first snow here in Oslo.
I always feel a little bit sad to say goodbye to the fall ... even if I am happy to welcome the white season as well.
The thin layer of crisp, white snow gave the brown, yellow and orange leaves even more texture and color.

I had some work to do in Oslo city today, and Iver joined me and helped me carrying the packages of paper. I'm really so blessed to have kind, helpful kids, that really wants to help their mom when needed. :)
Iver and I had a good time together as well. Doing some shopping and had a little photoshoot.
I have really found new joy in playing with my camera and my photoshop lately, Thanks to the karen Russell class and THIS community I recently bumped in to.
Clickin moms is a super inspiring place for all girls in love with photography. :)

Thanks for stopping by.
Have a great weekend.

A rainy day in Oslo

It has been a rainy, grey day in Oslo today.
But wrapped in the colors of fall it is still beautiful.
The grey weather and the rain seems to give even more intensity to the red, orange and yellow leaves.
As the three smaller kids are away Edvin and I enjoyed a day on our own in the city of Oslo. Buying him a new winter jacket, wich he needed. Had a coffee at the jazz café.
Edvin covinced me he really needed a Louis Armstrong CD, recorded in 1954 as well.
( Strange - a 14 yo love music from the fifties...)
Kind of was thrilled my big boy loves jazz so much.
His trumpet ( and the piano ) never stays still...
Had fun playing with the camera. I really got a lot of inspiration after attending Karen Russells class in Greece. I have wanted to take tons of photos, capturing little things... textures, moments...life ever since I came home. Thank you Karen, you gave me SO much inspiration trough your class. On these pictures I have played with some Texture / overlays by Ninian Lif as well .

I had another surprise waiting at my doorstep the other day.
It was a great honor to be featured in this french magazine, Histoires de pages, along with Linn and Renee.
* sorry about the bad link, it is now fixed *

all smiles :)

Still enjoying the beauty of autumn here in Oslo.
Love to hang on to summer, sun and flowers as long as possible - the winter will be long and cold, and these last warm days when we are still able to be outdoor in the garden, having lunch or a cup of tea outside and embrace the low sunbeams are precious.
Some of the flowers are still beautiful, while other are getting ready to their long winter-sleep.

Eirik - the outdoor guy - he loves doing things in the garden or around the house.
:) Today "101 ways to use your scrapbook supplies" special issue of Creating keepsakes with Jennifer McGuire arrived at my doorstep.
I was SO honored and happy to find my layout Sol@7 in this magazine.
I'm all smiles

:) :)

a beautiful day in september

Hi all.
Today was a wonderful sunny day in Oslo, just the way we like fall, with beautiful colors, crisp air and sunshine.
A perfect day for a lunch trip in our old wooden boat before it gets to "sleep" for the winter.
We went to one of these little islands in the inner Oslofjord. Enjoyed the last warm sunbeams and a delicious lunch with foccaccia, ham, cheese and wine.
Mmmmmmmmmm
Today was my last blogpost at "my Stamp BOX" blog. This design-team term ends oct. 1st, and I have decided, after three terms on this gorgeous team I have to step down, make room for new designers and give my self the opporttunity to find new paths.
I have really enjoyed the time with my Stamp BOX. Bettina creates so beautiful, versatile and fun stamps, and her company is so great, and last but not least, the girls at the design team are all wonderful, talented and super inspiring women. I'll miss it all!
Here is the fall layout I created using my all time favorite mSB-stamp-set " floating leaves". LOVE this set, and it must be the stamp set I have used the most ever.
I also used "just add notes" set and "symbols". Love these. :)
