Carrot Box

Quite a while ago I put together an icicle box for Melinda Ford..  She also intended for it to be used as a carrot box.  I never got around to using it a carrot, which I was just reminded of.  It was also requested that the svg file be made in a ds version.  This accomplishes both!!!

Heart Top Hexagon box-video & files

Here is my newest box, just in time for Valentine's Day.  I think I have everyone covered with files.  I'm not sure about the gypsy file.  I followed instructions I was given for saving it, but since I don't have a gypsy I have no way of testing it.  Please let me know if it works or not!!!

First project for Glue, Scissors, Paper!

Here is my first Design Team project for Glue, Scissors, Paper.  The challenge was to make a project using 50%  recycled materials.  This is what I came up with.
I used a gift box from Christmas for the mail box, and clear plastic packaging for the flag.  I printed the patterned paper myself.  I didn't have the right color glitter, so I mixed pink and orange together until I had the perfect shade.  I ran the flag through my xryon and then applied the glitter.  I also covered the brads with glitter.  They were standard gold colored office brads.  I used white ink, clear embossed that, then covered them in crystal effects and dipped in glitter.  The Be Mine is computer generated and covered in cystal effects.  I used a Ms edge punch for the scalloped edge and inked my edges.  There are cut files available for Ds and scal-just scroll down a couple posts.

Gingerbread House Box

I know, I know, another box!  I couldn't help myself!  This is a fairly large box- about 5 1/2 x 4 x  6 1/2 tall.  I made my box with the scal 2 file, and then made the ds (george) file.  I used the ds file in the video, just to make sure it worked!   The download links are at the bottom of this post, before the video.

Lantern/gazebo Box-VIDEO & cut files

A cut file for this box was requested on the cricut message board yesterday.  This is what I came up with.  The first picture is NOT my work-it was the inspiration photo.  The second picture is of the basic cutouts using the files I created.  I have not done anything with them, they were just test cuts.  There are 4 ds files, (I remembered the baby bug!) and one scal file.
The video had to be split- I talked too much and exceeded the 10 minute limit.  The second part is very short, maybe a minute.  Sorry!!!
Please show me pics of your creations-I love to see how creative you all are.

IF YOU WANT TO DELETE THE WINDOW CUTOUTS-click on the rectangle to select the panel, then hit backspace.  I put the rectangle and window in the same selection box to make the design process simpler, so this is how to delete the windows.  You can't just select it and click delete.  That would eliminate both shapes.

Cardholder Box with VIDEO-scal 2

click on pic for larger view

I love this box!  I sized it to hold a set of cards-it will hold quite a few.  But I see lots of other uses for it also-especially if you resize it.  The second video is just a quick overview of the file, and shows how to resize the box.

Here is the download link
Note-I added a small flap to the top side of the box.  It isn't on the video.  I just felt it would like nicer with the flap to fill the gap along the lid.

Take out boxes and fortune cookies-FILE LINK ADDED

I got the file from someone on the cricut mb. Sorry-I don't remember who! It was late at night. These are for the marching band flute section this weekend. This was my first time making fortune cookies. We put personalized fortunes in them.  Here is the link to the blog that has the file-

French Fry Box-VIDEO & FILES

A couple of days ago I decided I needed a french fry box for a project.  I thought tbbm had one on it, but it didn't.  I asked on the cricut message board and no one knew of a cartridge that had one.  I looked for a free svg for scal, but I didn't care for the one I found, so I decided to make one.  Here it is.  I'm pleased with the way it came out.  I really love the scal file, for the simple fact it can be resized.  Just click the keep proportions button in the properties box, and you can drag it as large or small as you like.  Sorry the video is so dark.  I need to work on my lighting!

Someone on the message board asked for a coffin box.  Here is my version.   I know there are others out there.  I also did a quick video showing how it goes together.  The download link for the file is posted below the video.  If you make any, I would LOVE to see what you came up with!!!!  Thanks for looking!

Mini Bread Box-video & cut file

This morning  on the cricut message board it was asked if someone would make a cut file for this mini bread box.  This is the link to the project http://technostamper.blogspot.com/2008/10/bread-box-mini-tutorial.html
It was so cute I couldn't resist!  Now I need to bake some mini bread loaves so I can use it!

The cut file is made with Plantin schoolbook.  Here is the download link

New trapazoid file

The file I posted before was the wrong one-it was a draft I forgot to delete.  DUH!  I'm very sorry.  Here is the correct file, with a new size added.  I was playing with the file when I realized I had 2 saved.  I went and looked and that's when I realized I had posted the wrong one!  http://www.4shared.com/file/132149483/cf83eb18/trapezoid_box.html

Octogon box-file link added

I don't know why I am suddenly designing boxes!  I guess it's because the group feature in scal 2 makes it so much easier.  This didn't turn out as nicely as I pictured it in my mind, but thought I would post it anyway.  I made it without a lid first, thinking I wanted it to look like a bushel basket.  That's why I inked the edges.  Then I decided it needed a lid, and I was to lazy to make another bottom, so I just used the inked one.  The file works fine though.  It's just my touches that need to be cleaned up!  I can post the file if anyone is interested.

Here is the link to download the file:
