CASE-ing Christmas Challenge #28

Greetings!

How's your week going?  Mine is crazy, after being gone for four days last week, but it's worth it.  Our trip to Dallas was very educational, exciting, and fun.  Three college visits down, two more to go.  Today is Wednesday, so I can see the weekend light at the end of the tunnel approaching.  I am going to be a total bum, and do as little as possible.  I need to catch up on some much needed rest.  I hope your weekend will include lots of fun, and hopefully some crafting. :-)

The next CASE-ing Christmas challenge is posted, and there are a couple of changes.  We have new design team members, and we are now a monthly challenge blog, with posts going live on the 5th of each month.  There is also a monthly prize to be won.  Who doesn't like prizes, right?  To kick things off, this month's CASE card just happens to be one of mine.  Here is the original.

And here is my CASE'd card.

I stuck to the design, but changed up the colors and elements.  I love this new to me stitched hearts border die.  I was happy I got to use it, finally.  I switched out the pearl for a jingle bell, and embossed the sentiment, and called it done.  It's a pretty simple card, and it's fairly flat, so it will mail nicely.  I'm excited to have another Christmas card ready to send at the end of the year.  I'm going to enter this for the following challenges.

Christmas Cards All Year Round: Snowflakes
Crazy 4 Challenges #297: Include the word Happy on your project.
Papertake Weekly:  Anything Goes
Simon's Wednesday Challenge: Tie It Up

I hope you'll head over to the CASE-ing Christmas blog to see what fabulous inspiration is posted for you.  I also look forward to seeing how you interpret my original card.  Can't wait to see them all, and visit your blogs!

Have a wonderful day!

Congratulations

Hey ya'll!

I hope you've had a wonderful holiday weekend.  It's been nice, sleeping in the last three days, and spending time with family and friends.  The weather has been absolutely amazing here too.  So thankful for everything we got to do, and everyone we got to see this weekend. *happy sigh*

I was fortunate enough to get some time in my craft cave today.  Here is what I put together.

I've been hoarding this Lil Inker Designs ombre patterned paper, and was thrilled that it went with a couple of challenges I wanted to join.  I kept it simple, and love how it turned out, although I'm bummed that I got a small ink smudge in the top left corner somehow.  I was able to get most of it off, but it still looks kinda bad.  I was already done with the card when I noticed it, so I just left it.  Ugh.  What do you do when this happens?

I'm going to submit this card for the following challenges.

City Crafter Week #268:  Nautical
Crazy 4 Challenges #293:  Monochromatic
Just Us Girls #300:  Congratulations
ShowCASe Your Style #18:  Inspiration Photo (Blues)
The Paper Players #252:  The Great Outdoors (sailing is done outdoors, hope this qualifies)
Pile It On #76:  Hot Fun In The Summertime (who doesn't like to go boating in the summer?)
Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #276:  Choose A Past Sketch (I chose sketch #274, my loose interpretation)

That's all for me today!  I'm off to grill some ribs, and finish the potato salad for dinner.  I hope everyone has a wonderful evening, and a great work week.

Stay crafty my friends!

Thanks

Good day everyone!

I was up before daylight this morning, making sure my girl was fed and taken care of, before she was off to take her ACT's.  As the days go on, the more it's starting to sink in that I'll be an empty nester very soon.  I still stop to wonder where time has gone.  My baby is technically an adult, and headed into her last year of school, before moving on to college. *sigh*  I'm thankful that she's such a great person, with a good head and a big heart.  I know she'll go on to do great things.

Anyway, since I was up, I decided to participate in a few challenges.  I actually made two cards.  Here is the first.

I debated about whether or not to actually post this card.  I had an idea in my head, but it didn't quite turn out how I wanted.  And, I still suck at masculine cards. lol  This paisley stencil from MFT though, is awesome!  I can see many uses for it in the future.  I was excited about using my new Abandoned Coral distress ink too.  That baby had been sitting on my desk, unopened, for months.  I guess this card isn't too terrible.  I think it needs a little "something" though.  Maybe I'll come back to it at a later date and figure it out.  At least I've got another card for my stash.  I'm going to submit this for the following challenges.

The Challenge #38:  Coral, Navy & Kraft
Freshly Made Sketches #190:  Sketch
Bloggers Challenge:  For The Boys
Crazy 4 Challenges #290:  Masculine Cards

Below is the second card I made.

This card was a bit over a week in process.  I colored the image with my Copics (I know, right?! lol) while on layover in Dallas, a bit over a week ago.  This is one of the better coloring jobs I've ever done, so I wanted to use it.  I added a vellum sentiment, embossed in gold and some Pretty Pink Posh sequins, and called it good.  I love how simple it is, and how the image stands out.  These colors together are lovely as well.  I'm going to enter this for the following challenges.

Word Art Wednesday #187:  Anything Goes
Just Add Ink #266:  Pink Pirouette, Night of Navy & Gold
YNS Challenge #16:  Sketch & Color Challenge (I only used the sketch, manipulating it a bit)

That's all for me today.  I'm going to attempt to take a nap, and catch up on some crafty YouTube videos.  I wish all of you a great day!

Hugs!

Happy Birthday

Hello my friends!

This is my second post for today.  Please scroll down to see my Word Art Wednesday card. :-)

I hope you're having a good week, and are looking forward to the weekend.  I made a few cards recently, but hadn't had an opportunity to get pictures until this afternoon.  This frigid weather, and two feet of snow, have made it almost impossible to get outside.  I think this spot on my desk at work will actually be a great place to snap a few pics from now on though.

Here is the card I have to share with you today.

I have been practicing with the CAS style again, and tried my hand at a masculine card for a change.  I really think this card is quite nice.  And, I even watercolored for the first time!  I've had these Winnie & Walter stamps in my stash for a while now, and was happy to finally ink them up.  Love the bold, silver sentiment on this one.  The recipient of this card is a pilot, so I hope he enjoys it.  I'm going to submit this card for the following challenges.

Seize The Birthday:  Anything Goes
CAS-ual Fridays #136:  Watercolor
Crazy 4 Challenges #271:  Masculine Birthday
Just Us Girls #278:  Sentiment As Focus
Mod Squad Challenge: Use Water (I watercolored the map image)

That's all for me today.  I'm off to work, and then hitting the gym with my co-workers.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hugs!

Warm Birthday Wishes

Hi ya'll!

How has your weekend been?  Everything here is covered in white, and it's freezing.  R is NOT happy about the cold weather, but he's done a good job at staying warm, indoors. lol  Hulk on the other hand, has had a blast in the snow.  It's his first time being in it, so he's having fun rolling around in it, and trying to eat as much as he can.  He was adorable on Thursday night, jumping up and trying to bite at the snowflakes, as they hit him in the face.  He's so big that you forget he's still just a puppy. lol

While R has been cooking, and watching football, I have been in my crafty space.  I am excited about today's card.  I recently received my Simon Says Stamp January Card Kit, and oh my goodness, are the papers gorgeous!  I LOVED every single one of them.  I actually made three cards with it already.  Here is the first.

See what I mean about the papers?!  I adore this color combo, and am going to use every bit of my card kid this month, for sure.  I used some of my new SSS goodies that I got from R for Christmas on this card.  I layered the two snow flake dies, and then added another silver one (that you can't see) from Pretty Pink Posh.  For a bit of interest I clear embossed some polka dots on the sentiment panel, before stamping my sentiment in three different fonts.  I'm a bit bummed that you can't tell in the picture, but "birthday" is stamped in a deep purple and then clear embossed as well.  It's rich, and shiny, and gorgeous in real life.  I'm also kinda bummed that you can't see the sparkle on the wreath under the sentiment.  It's coated with a layer of Dazzling Diamonds.  This card turned out exactly how I had hoped though, and I'm sure the recipient will love it as much as I do.  I'm going to submit this card for the following challenges...

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge: Anything Goes
Seize The Birthday: Birthday (optional: silver and gold, which I did not use)
Crazy 4 Challenges #266: Winter Themed Birthday Card

I'll be back soon, with my next card.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hugs!

Hello hello!

I hope everyone is doing well, and have been busy making lots of crafty things.  It has been another crazy couple of weeks around here.  My daughter turned 18 on the 1st.  That morning she took her test to get her drivers license, passed, and was surprised with a new vehicle of her own.  To say she was excited is an understatement, but she was only half as excited, as when I gave her tickets to see Maroon 5 (her favorite band) next March.  My babygirl had an awesome birthday, and I feel totally blessed to be able to do that for her.  On Friday I turned 39, and instead of going out, I chose to have a nice dinner at home with my mom and daughter last night.  They made me my favorite dish, and a homemade German chocolate cake.  It was amazing!  I think I'm getting old.  My favorite part of the whole weekend, aside from spending time with them, was getting to sleep in yesterday and today. lol

Seeing as how I was fully rested this morning, I decided to get my craft on.  Here is what I created.

I like the simplicity of this card.  It's a traditional Christmas card, but I think traditional is good sometimes.  And as most of you know, I don't like glitter or embossing powder much, but I decided to emboss this tag in gold.  I dig it.  It's not only metallic but also has some sparkle to it.  It took me forever to clean up all of the gold on my desk, but it was worth the effort.  I love how it looks in real life.  It doesn't look like much, but I combined all of the following challenges into my card.

Christmas Cards All Year Round: No Patterned Paper
52 Christmas Card Throwdown: Red, Green & Gold or Silver Metallic
The Paper Players #221: Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla & Mossy Meadow (i used whisper white)
Pile It On #45: Special Occasion

I think I'm going to make another Christmas card, since I've got that mojo flowing.  I hope to be back soon with another card.  I hope everyone has an awesome Sunday!

Hugs!

Holiday Wishes

Happy weekend everyone!

I hope everyone is doing well, and having a great weekend.  Around here, we've been busy with getting my daughter registered for school, and back to school shopping.  It's tax free weekend in Iowa this weekend, so we did our shopping last night, after dinner.  We did some major damage on my check book, but she hates shopping, so we won't have to do that again for a while. lol  Today has been all about being lazy, and trying to get laundry finished.  In between, I made this card.

I'm sure by now, you know how I LOVE non-traditional Christmas colors.  This is definitely non-traditional, but I dig it.  I got to use more of my new Simon Says Stamp goodies, and I had fun putting this together.  I'm going to submit my card to the following challenges.

Just Add Ink Challenge #225: Color Combo (Smokey Slate, So Saffron, Whisper White & Basic Black)
52 Christmas Card Throwdown August Challenge: Sketch (my interpretation)
Crazy 4 Challenges #247: Banners

I'm off to make some veggie beef soup (my daughters request) and do a whole lot of nothing, except  maybe make another card.  I hope you have a wonderful afternoon!

Stay crafty my friends!

Blue Skies

Greetings!

I hope everyone is having a good week, so far!  It was a lazy weekend around our house, but I was able to get a couple of crafty things done.  Here is a card I made for a friend in need of encouragement.

I wanted to try a technique that Dawn McVey introduced on a weekly tutorial for PTI, that uses two different background stamps together.  You can barely see the light pink polka dots in my photo, but in real life, they're pretty cool.  I have a feeling I'll be trying this technique again.  It's easy.  I've had this stamp in my stash forever, and decided it was time to ink her up after neglecting her for about a year.  I paper pieced the umbrella, and cut her out so I could pop her up.  I think this card is bright, and cheerful, and I'm hoping it will bring a smile to my friend.

I've combined the following challenges in my card today:

Crazy 4 Challenges #197 - Paper Piecing
Sketchbook Saturday #102 - Sketch
Dynamic Duos #64 - Strawberry Slush & Daffodil Delight (I tried to get as close as I could)
Our Creative Corner - Words, Words, Words
Kaboodle Doodles #183 - Anything With Scallops (my lace has scallops)
The Pink Elephant #211 - Texture
Flourishes Timeless Tuesday #232 - Backgrounds (using your stamps)

I am hoping to get more crafting done this week, as we're expecting rain over the next few days.  Great time to make a bit pot of homemade veggie beef soup too, I think.

Have a great day!
Hugs!

I Can Do All Things...

Hiya!

Happy Saturday!  I am excited that I got to sleep in this morning.  Nothing like getting a couple extra hours of sleep. *happy sigh*  I'm sure I would have slept longer, had I not received a text message from a certain someone who's in another time zone. lol  I'm also super excited that my daughter will be home this afternoon.  I missed her very much!  I wanted to get some crafty time in before she gets home, so I created this, before breakfast even. :-)

This is my very loose interpretation of VLVJUL2013 sketch challenge over at SCS.  I wanted to keep it very simple, so that the sentiment was the focal point.  There is someone very close to my heart that will be going through something very difficult over the next few weeks, and I wanted to make sure she knew that I was praying for her, and that God would get her through it.  We both know it will all work out in the end, but getting there is often the hardest.  I've really taken a liking to CAS cards, and I LOVE how this card turned out.  It's simple, and beautiful.  I don't use the color purple often, but it's her favorite, so I know she'll love it.

I've combined the following challenges in my card today:

Word Art Wednesday #87 - Anything Goes
VLVJUL2013 - Sketch (again, my very loose interpretation)
CAS-ual Fridays #108 - Include Fabric, Felt, Canvas, etc. (the bottom layer of my focal panel is SU! fabric glued to cardstock, and then cut out with my Nestabilities to create the "frame")
Crazy 4 Challenges #193 - Lets Get Wordy (focus on sentiment, big or small)

I just found out this morning, that I was chosen as the Diva of the week, for THIS card.  What a shock!  Thanks a bunch!

By the way, don't forget that the new House of Cards challenge will go live on Monday morning.  You still have time to join the current challenge though.  You can click HERE, for all of the details.

I'm off to finish laundry, clean the house, and maybe make something else.  I do hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hugs!

Papercraft Star Challenge #115

Howdy!

I hope you're having a good week!  It's been nice and quiet around here, and I've slept better the last two days, than I have in a while.  I'm not sure why, but I'll take it! lol  I'm also super excited, as I will be home visiting my mother this weekend.  It's been a rough couple months, and sometimes I just want my mom.  Any of you feel that way too?

Anyway, I have another crafty project to share with you.  The theme this week at Papercraft Star is:

Anything Goes!

I wasn't sure what I wanted to to with this weeks challenge.  I'm itching to put together a project that isn't a card or layout, but all of my stuff for that is still in storage.  Unfortunately, I procrastinated too long with trying to figure out what to do, that I had to create another card.  This is my result.

I've had this THATB digi printed out, and sitting on my desk, for a while.  I've wanted to incorporate it into just about everything I've made this week, but ultimately, it was waiting for today's card.  I love the digitals provided by THATB.  They're so easy to work with, and they're all gorgeous!  I paired it with some rich fall colors, bakers twine, leaves and a pin and called it done.  It's cute and I have another card for my stash.  I've combined the following challenges in my card today also.

Crazy 4 Challenges #156 - Leaves
Speedy Fox Friends Challenge #127 - Circles
Kaboodle Doodles #139 - Colors of Autumn
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

That's all for me today.  I'm off to work, and then off to Bible study.  I'm still getting adjusted to my new eating habits, and I hate drinking all of the water the doc says is healthy, but I guess it's not terrible.  We'll see how long I stay this determinded.  It's been a rough two days.

Anyway, I hope you have a great day!
Hugs!

Unscripted Sketches Challenge #178

Greetings!!

I hope you've had a good week!  Our end of month is finally over, and I get to sleep in for two days.  I'm excited about that! lol

I have another Unscripted Sketches project for you today.  The sketch this week is fantastic, and leaves a lot of room for interpretation.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I decided to make my card round.  I really like how it turned out.  I used more digis from THATB, and paired it with distress inks, bakers twine and some bling.  It's adorable, and I know just the person who will receive it.

I've also included the following challenges in my card.

Crazy 4 Challenges #155 - Thank You or Thanksgiving Inspired
Stamptacular Sunday #182 - Bling It On
Kaboodle Doodles #138 - Stitching
The Pink Elephant #167 - Chevrons or Hexagons
Stampin Royalty #143 - Use Your Bigshot/Die Cuts

As always, there are some wonderful projects posted over at the US blog.  I do hope you get a chance to check them out, and maybe play along. :)

I'm off to be a bum, while watching The Avengers, and then I'm off to the grocery store.  Not sure what I'm going to do the rest of the weekend, but I hope to get my craft on. lol

Have a great day!
Hugs!

FYI Challenge #29

Hey ya'll!

I hope the week has been good to you.  I'm happy to say that it has been quite nice for me this week.  The first week of the month is usually nice and quiet.  Thank goodness!

I have another FYI project for you today.  Since it's the first challenge of the month, we have a new sponsor as well.  For all of the details, click HERE.

Here is the new inspiration photo.

I loved the contrast between the colors.  The different shades of greens and browns are fabulous.  I also like the sharp peaks in the back, set against the cloudy sky.  How awesome to be living on the plane, like those who've built houses there.  The waterfall is the perfect touch to a gorgeous photo.  Below is the card I created based on the photo.

I tried to include the textures as well as the greens and browns.  I paper pieced the digi image from Fresh Brewed Designs, and cut it out so that I could pop it up on dimensionals.  I wasn't sure what I was going to use this card for just yet, so I left it without a sentiment.  I dig it.  I have also included the following challenges in my card.

Crazy 4 Challenges #134 - Paper Piecing
Paper Sundaes #118 - Ribbon & Pearls
Stampin Sisters In Christ #137 - Include green
Freshly Brewed Challenge #94 - Tic Tac Toe (I chose buttons, Fresh Brewed image and patterned paper)

I do hope you'll head over to the FYI blog to see what gorgeous creations are posted.  They're all super fab!  As usual. :)

Stay crafty my friends!

2012 Christmas Card Challenge Week #21

Hey ya'll!

I had this post scheduled to go live, on time, but now that I'm home, I realize that the post didn't work.  Are any of you guys having Blogger issues like this too?  I'm curious if it has anything to do with the new look.  Anyway, I guess it will all work out once they fix all the bugs.

I have a new Christmas card to share with you today.  The challenge for this week is a Recipe challenge.  For all of the details, click HERE.

Here is the card I made, using the above recipe.  I apologize for the washed out look.  Not sure what happened there.

I love these Webster's Pages papers.  They're so pretty together, and I love the vintage feel to them.  I don't do vintage often, or hardly at all actually.  I think this card looks really nice with all of the elements put together.  Another card down for this year.  I've combined the following challenges in my card.

Crazy 4 Challenges #133 - Add black.
Mark's Finest Papers #104 - Stitching
52 Christmas Card Throwdown #4 - Snowflakes
Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge #69 - Lots of Layers

I hope you'll head over to the CCC blog to see what the other designers have created for you today.  They're lovely, as usual.

Hugs!

Drunken Stampers #84

Well hello!

Looking at my last post, I am wondering where time has gone.  It has been almost two weeks since I last posted anything.  Goodness, that's bad. lol  It's end of month for us at work, again, and it's so crazy busy that my creative mojo hides from me.  Hopefully, I'll get back to posting more crafty stuff for you soon.

Anyway, I have my last Drunken Stampers card to share with you.  Sadly, I won't be able to stay on for another term, as I am just too busy with work.  I have truly enjoyed being a part of this team, and am thankful for the opportunity.  The challenge this week is Thank You.  For all of the details, click HERE.

I really like these colors together.  The patterned papers I found in these colors actually go quite well together also.  I'm not sure why I hadn't used this MFT doily die yet, but I love it.  It came together pretty quickly, and I'm sure the recipient will enjoy it.

I've combined the following challenges in my card:

Colour Create #90 - Lilac, Blue, White & Kraft
Delightful Challenges - Patterned Paper
Crazy 4 Challenges #125 - 2 Layered Card
Our Creative Corner - Over The Edge (have an element not restricted to the boundaries of your edges)

I hope you'll check out the Drunken Stampers blog to see what my friends have created for you today.  They're all pretty fabulous.
Hugs!

Christmas Card Challenge Week #9 & Drunken Stampers #82

Hi hi!

So, because I'm a slacker, and I completely spaced off my DT obligations this week due to work, I am combining two of my challenges into one.  I apologize for the shortness of this post, but I have to go back to work this morning.  Boo! :(

The challenges this week were to Use Your Favorite Technique at the CCC and Use New Crafty Supplies at DS.  My favorite technique, which I'm sure by now you know, is embossing.  Everything on my card is new, with the exception of the bakers twine, which I've had in my stash for a while.  I'm diggin' how this card turned out.  I've also combined the following challenges in my card.

Totally Papercrafts - Pearls & Lace
Fussy & Fancy #55 - Polka Dots
Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge #143 - Sketch (I turned it sideways)

I hope you'll check out both design team blogs to see what my friends have all created for you this weekend.  All of them are super fab!

Hugs!

Peace, Joy and Love

Hi everyone!

I do hope you had a wonderful holiday and weekend.  It's back to work for me today, and I'm dreading it.  I have been gone and can only imagine the piles of stuff that are waiting for me to tackle on my desk. lol

I got some extra time to create some more stuff, just for fun.  If all goes well, I'll have something posted two or three times this week.  Here is my first card.

I love the very non-traditional look these colors give to this Christmas card.  If you know me, you know how I love the non-traditional colors for my cards at Christmas time.  It was a bit challenging to get everything how I wanted it, but all in all, it turned out pretty well.  I've got another card to add to my pile, and that's all that really matters.  I've combined the following challenges for this card:

Unscripted Sketches #134 - Sketch
Crazy 4 Challenges #115 - Snow
OCCC 11/26 - O' Christmas Tree (include a Christmas tree of some sort)
Crafty Contaigon Challenge 11/26 - Leftovers (use your scraps, just about everything on my card is a scrap of some sort)
PDCC #108 - Maroon, Copper, Tumeric (I got as close as I could)
Paper Sundaes #97 -  Winter Wonderland
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge #140 - Anything Christmas

I hope you have a good week.  I'm off to get ready and make the dreaded drive to work on a Monday after a holiday. lol  I'll be back soon with another something crafty.

Hugs!

Feel Better

Hi ya'll!

Did you have a good weekend?  It was another hot one for us here in DFW, but we managed to stay cool in the pool.  I love having a pool.  My brother in law was in town for a ministry conference, so it was nice to spend some time with him as well.  I did get to crop on Saturday night at my friend Joni's.  We had such a blast.  She's truly a blessing in my life.

I got a couple of cards put together, but this one is the one I liked most.

I'm sure by now, ya'll know how difficult it is for me to create masculine cards.  My friend helped me with some of the elements of this card as well.  This time he chose the colors chocolate, red and tan (for which I used kraft again), and buttons.  He also wanted me to create a masculine card.  This isn't the original card I put together first.  I did take it apart and add a couple of things before I was truly happy with it.  I think it turned out ok.  It just so happens that recently one of my transportation contacts was injured while playing basketball at a family bbq, and wound up in a coma from a concussion.  He's awake and coherent now, but it was a reminder of how quickly things can alter ones life, and another huge reminder of how short life can be.  My supervisor and I agreed that we should send him a card.  I'm going to enter it in the following challenges:

Crazy4Challenges #102 - Masculine
Cards 4 Men #17 - Anything Goes
Colour Create #78 - Kraft, Red & White
Papertake Weekly 8/23 - Dies

It's back to work for me today, but I will be busy in the evenings this week creating some stuff for a special order.  I don't normally take orders, but my friend made me an offer I couldn't refuse.  Dang peer pressure. lol  I'll be back soon with another card.

Also, before I forget, we've got some new stuff happening over at the FYI blog on Thursday.  I can't wait to share the news, and introduce you to my two new girls.  I'm SO excited!  Don't forget to check back on Thursday to see what all I'm talking about.

Have a great day!
Hugs!

Thinking of You

Hello!

I hope all of you are having a restful Sunday, enjoying whatever you're doing.  I have been very low key this weekend, only making a venture out to the grocery store, and only because I HAD to.  Needless to say, my creative mojo has been a bit MIA, but here is what I made for Ben's parents.

With some help and support from a new, special someone in my life, I was able to put everything aside to make this card.  I'm hoping they will find it helpful, and somewhat comforting in their time of loss and grief.  I love this card, and I love that it will go to them.  Below are a few challenges that I've included.

Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #122 - Sketch (my loose interpretation)
Crazy 4 Challenges #92 - Floss or String
Stamp Something - Something with Pretty Papers
Creative Inspirations #62 - Stitching (real, faux, etc.)

I'm going to try to put together another masculine birthday card for a co-worker.  I'm not sure it will go as planned, but at least I'm going to do something else that's crafty.  I think it will be good to do that.

Hugs!

My Hero

Hi ya'll!

How is your weekend going so far?  Mine is going to be fantastic!  I'm just waiting for a few of my co-workers to arrive and then it's time for pool party and bbq in the backyard.  I LOVE having a pool.  So relaxing after a stressful day at work, and always fun when having friends over.  *happy sigh*

So, my stupid internal alarm clock had me up at 6am today, bleh.  I couldn't get back to sleep, so I decided to start working on some Father's Day cards for work.  Here is the first one I created.

I love how this turned out.  If you've followed my blog long, you know I struggle with masculine cards. lol  I just got these star dies from MFT and had to play with them already.  I cut them out of old book paper and glimmer misted them.  They're really cool in real life.  I'm surprised at how well my card matches the idea I had in my head.  I'm going to enter this into the following challenges:

Crazy4Challenges #91 - Father's Day
Sketchbook Saturday #15 - Sketch (my loose interpretation)
Stamp, Scrap & Doodle - Father's Day
Stamp Something - Something Punched (I used dies)
Delightful Challenges - Father's Day
Stampin Royalty #75 - Celebrate Dad

Don't forget you still have time to participate in FYI Challenge #7.  There's a cute prize and the photo is amazing.  You can find all of the details HERE.

I hope you have a great day!  I'll be thinking of ya'll while enjoying my margarita, poolside. :D

Thanks!

Hi ya'll!

I spent Saturday afternoon with my wonderful friend Joni, craftying away.  I'm so blessed to have her in my life, and am thankful that we have such a great friendship.  I didn't create anything for any of my design teams.  I just made some cards that I wanted to make.  It was so refreshing to just play with my toys, without having any obligations to meet.  Here is one of the cards I made.

I've had this precious PI girl colored for a while, so I decided it was time to put her on a card.  I added a bit of glossy accents to my apple, so it's shiny.  I love these colors together and will probably use them again.  Had I been smart, I would have paper pieced her dress.  Either way, I still like my simple card.  I'm entering it into the following challenges.

C4C #75 - Use Dies (I used my Nesties, and a leaf die)
Drunken Stampers #55 - Absolutely To Die For! (Use dies)

I hope you're having a great week!  I'll be back soon with another card.  Yay!
Hugs!
