I have not exhibited at shows since 7 years. I decided to relaunch in mid March this year. I was not sure if it was going to work but well ... from 10:00 to 15:00, I did not even have time to sit down, eat and arrange my stand. If you saw that my booth was a mess, that was the reason.

It makes me so pleased to meet new people. I thank you sincerely for having come to see me and said hello. I am also happy to see my friends Una Leung from Hong Kong, Jean Kao Jean's Tiny World from Taiwan and Marion Kröller from Germany. I meet Miyoko Isshiki san Noe Café from Japan for the first time. The most important thing is that I found two of my best friends on BlogSpot: Marie-Laure Miniature Recreation and Catherine Ninette & Co. I am so touched. Marie-Laure must present us with more of her works! (I'm waiting for you! Hug!)

Finally, I would like to present the work of a professional exhibitor, Dominique Roche. I have been looking at a series of her leather bags for years. This is my favorite this little green bag. I took it home on Sunday evening.

I would like to rest, spend more time with my boys and arrange my house. In the meantime, I update my shop ...... A plus! :)

I have packed everything ready in my luggage for the SIMP show. On my working table, I see many unbaked macaroons smiling at me. It's fine. It's like a race, we always chase after time. I am pleased to return to SIMP show and restart making miniatures. Compared to my last show in Paris, I find my taste, my style and my preference have changed. I hope what I love will please the customers and the friends of the mini land....
Cross my fingers!

A bientôt

SIMP 2012: a grand Thank-you to you

On Sunday, we arrived in the show around 8h05 and there have been already a lot of exhibitors starting to set up the stands. The public opening was 10am, and I thought I would have enough time to display my stand. In fact I was a little bit slower than I imagined. I did not totally complete the setting and the time was up.

To my surprise, several customers came directly to our stand at the same time when the door was just opened; our table was small and it was not in a very good location. I felt spoiled and grateful because many customers were patient waiting behind.

Since there were always customers in front, we did not have time to take a break or have lunch BUT we were so pleased!! Around 14h00, 70% of my work has left with the new owners. It was a quite busy but very lovely day for me and the hubby.

A lot of ladies came, said hello and congratulated me on my creation and the book; they were satisfied with the contents and the methods that I make the veggies and fruits. They all agreed the explanations and the how-to pictures are clear to understand. I appreciated so much all your kind words and your fidelity. Thank you so much!

This was the first time we exhibited in France and we had a very sweet and fruity result; we have been so touched by the words of customers and friends we met in the show. I was encouraged and so was the hubby!

I especially want to say thank-you to Muriel of “Mon Tout Petit Monde” and Christine Voirin the organizer of the SIMP who have been giving me so much help in the workshops and the show.
Also little kisses for Linda and David of “Une Petite Folie” who have been so kind and coming to me when the show just started! Thanks very  much for your present and lovely greetings! :D

SIMP 2012 Off to Paris

Today is the last working day before the SIMP. Some roasted chickens have been made this morning and I took some pictures of the works before packing the luggage just now.

We will leave for Paris in the early morning tomorrow and meet some Taiwan friends in the town. I will share my know-how with the participants in the workshops on Saturday then the show starts on Sunday.

My stand number is 20; I will be there with Catherine of Ninette & Co and Marie-Laure of  Recréation Miniature. I sincerely welcome those who will attend the SIMP to come to our stands and say hello! :)

See you soon!

Veggie Mold Starts

I have been absent for almost a month! I was not willing to work in the garage and in the kitchen but I had to since the in-laws have come to the South and help some work for the house in May.

It was difficult thinking of the SIMP but making almost nothing for a moment last month.
What we have gained was a beautiful range hood and a well painted garage!

After the in-laws go back to Paris, the hubby and I work hard for our own and we are happy taking back the freedom!! LOL

During the past weeks, I tried to make some pastries, like Paris Brest, La Galette des Rois and l’Opera since I have been thinking of them for a long time(I knew I had to try!).

There were some custom orders and finally the veggie mold has started since this week! Hope I will have enough items for SIMP.

I have to say thank-you to those who have written to me via emails or on the Fanpage of my Facebook. Thanks so much for your warm comments. I am pleased to know your thoughts toward my book. This encourages me. Please wait for me a moment and I will try to reply you one by one after the SIMP.

I appreciate all the friends and unknown friends from blogland who have purchased the books directly from me since 7th May. They are all sold. Though I don’t have any copies in stock now, I will try my best to reserve some for SIMP. Once anyone of you who will attend the SIMP and need a copy, please feel free to email me before 13th Jun

For International orders, I recommend Amazon.ca for the Canadian and the American customers; maybe Amazon FR, Amazon UK and Amazon DE for European customers.

Once it's not available or not easy to get a copy in your places (like in Asia and Australia for example), I will do my best to provide the service. The little giveaway event is late but will be announced next week. Thank you! :)

Meats, Ballotin Boxes and Workshops in Paris

I continue doing some experiments of color mix for meats lately. I also madesome chocolate boxes.

If you have been reading my blog since 2010, you must notice the Italian meats are very similar to those I had made before our house was burgaled. Unfortunately this happened again when we had vacation in Massif Central. We sense we have to secure more of our home. Some construction starts today and will finish in Jun.

Some news of the SIMP workshops
I will give 2 little projects on 23rd Jun:
 (1) Breads & grapes (morning)

(2) Charlotte aux fruits de la-passion (afternoon)

I hope these two projects are interesting!  In the courses, I will explain the techniques in English and French. That will be a great challenge to me too!! LOL

Some treasures from the SIMP

I arrived 30 minutes before the show started. I was the 30th visitor. When the door opened, I walked directly to Elisabath's stand and I am also her first customers. She is affable and friendly! It took time to choose her minis because everything is that beautiful.

Didier WETZEL's workshops also interest me. He gives not only workshop of furniture but also wood turnings.

The most impressive thing for me is discover "Le Molecole" in the show. Rosanna has sent me her web last year; it was thrilling to see her and her works in the show. I think I spent more than 30 minutes in total in front of her stand. I was struggling!!! LOL

I was happy because I brought several lovely pieces from the SIMP. This is the second time I attend the show; I was pleased to meet Rosanna and Geneviève in person.  I was very satisfied with my purchase too. :D

Paris Trip

I was back from Paris last evening. It was a wonderful trip for me even I just spent two and half days there.

I arrived in Paris by noon on Friday. Since I went alone, it was quite efficient to visit in the city.

I left my luggage in the hotel and started my shopping time near Centre Pompidu and Hotel de Ville. Near the Metro “Arts et Métier”(Line 3), there is a lovely market named “Le marché des Enfants-Rouges” which is one of my favorite markets in Paris.

I spent somet ime walking there and enjoyed the atmospheres of local life.

In the evening I took a walk around Eiffel Tower and came back to the hotel at 22h30.

The next day, Saturday, it was raining and very cold in Paris. Fortunately I joined two workshops in “île de la Jatte”. All participates concentrated on the workshops, discussed and shared with each other.

It was stunning and fun to know several French ladies who are soooo talented and fabricate the dollhouses. They are the specialists in different specific domains. To my surprise, these ladies were so kind and open to me even I don’t speak well French. We spent a great time together all day long. We exchanged the emails and contact info before leaving.

Sunday morning I went for SIMP. My hotel is just 3 minutes far from there by walking.
This was the first time I attended miniature fair and I did not have good sense of direction even I held the SIMP booklet in my hand. I crossed Emma (Paris Miniatures) and Rosanna (La Stanza di Giuggiola) and did not notice that till I saw Stéphanie (PetitPlat). I went back to Emma and chatted for a while beside her stand. ^_^

After I chatted and said goodbye to Stéphanie, I noticed “Minicaretti” on the right side banner…I felt familiar with it. Yep, it’s Marcella! We knew each other and shared some techniques in CDHM Forum two or three moinths ago. She was so warm and enthusiastic in greetings. Since my friends Luce “MyFrenchCuisine” and Fleur (a nice friend from the workshop) both were with me, we chatted all together.

The most interesting part was I met Léa, the author of “Grand livre de la maison miniature”. In the beginning I did not notice it was her stand, after her assistant packed my stuffs and I turned to leave, I saw her just beside me. I said “Oh c’est Léa” and asked her if she knew me when I kissed her cheeks. She said no. She did not remembered my name but she remembered I was the girl who made mini food and went to her shop near Montmartre during Christmas in 2008. She was really a star in my mind! She told me she made a new version of web at http://www.atelier-de-lea.com/

I stayed in the salon from 10 to 16h00 and did not have enough time to visit all the stands and took pictures. Before leaving for the train station, I wanted to say hello to Christel (Little Treasure). Unluckily she was not there. There was a mister taking care of the stand but I still looked carefully all the mini creations that Christel made. Super excellent!

I was so pleased to see many excellent artisans and artists in the show. Their works were unexceptionable. Even my purse was seriously bleeding, I was happy with the trip.

Before starting this post, I tried to recall if Rosanna was the elegant lady who smiled at me when I passed the stand in the morning. Dear Rosanna, if it were you, and if you also rememebred an asian girl passing by, I would apology for my BIG mistake!!! :-)
