Let me sleep

Happy Saturday everyone!

I used this fun CCC#87 Haunted Cuckoo Clock image and wanted to create a 'Do not disturb' kind of sign on my craft room door.. Well, as you can see the result isn't quite what it was meant to be 😛

I wanted to create a little more texture on this card/sign/whatever this is going to be. I coloured the walls and cutie birdie with alcohol markers. The roofs I coated with texture paste and I also added Glossy Accents on the clock part.

I'm not a morning person so this is still quite me 😊

It's my life

Hi everyone!

This time I made a decorative block to my craft room.

I kept couple cardboard blocks that were in a box to protect furniture I ordered and finally I figured out what I could do with them 😊

I used Oddball image#93 Big Eye Chibi Girl With Speech Bubble and coloured it with alcohol markers. I covered the block with clear gesso and stone-effect paste. Then I attached the image with gel medium. I also added some black and pearlescent green acrylic paint because I didn't want the background to be too grey. Finally I added text stripes.

I don't know yet what I'm gonna do the other side of the block, but this works for now 😊

Creepy Cute Chronicles #54

EK Gorman, Oddball Art CCC54 a
It is Friday, so that means it is time for a new Creepy Cute Chronicles newsletter over at Oddball Art!  Today, I am playing with this week's CCC digital stamp, but blowing it up have and mounting it onto a 8x10 inch wood canvas.

IMG_5941
To give you perspective of how large I blew up the Red's Pet Wolf digi, I put a full size Distress ink case there.

IMG_5942
Then using my copics, I colored both Red...

IMG_5943
...And her pet wolf.  I am not crazy about the coloring on the wolf, but by the end of the canvas the coloring work.

IMG_5944
I fussy cut out both of the image and set them aside while I build the background of the canvas.

IMG_5946
I scraped on some black metallic acrylic paint onto my wooden canvas.

IMG_5945
I die cut three panels of trees, and sprayed them with both a matte and a glittery spray ink.  I repeated the process with panels of grass cut out and gray, glittery black and green glitter spray ink.

IMG_5947
Using soft matte gel, I adhered the trees onto the canvas, letting there be texture with the gel.  I also added the grass to the canvas with the same gel.

IMG_5948
I then added the digital stamps onto the canvas.  I could have quit here and been happy with the end result, but I wanted to build the canvas up more.

IMG_5949
So to build up the canvas, I pulled out metal crafting pieces, wire, paper flowers, art stones and more black acrylic paint an built up the bottom of the canvas with fun layers.

IMG_5950
I really like how the texture built up the final look of the canvas.

IMG_5951
Finally, I added a fun sentiment to the final product.

Courage Being Yourself Art Journal Page

Hey there Oddballs!  EK here today to share with you an Art Journal Page I made using IMG235- Whimsical Frilly Skull with Bow.

Using a collection of mousse, distress paints and stamping, I was able to create this page.

The digi was colored simply with some Spectrum Noir markers, and adhered to the journal page.

The sentiment came from a Tim Holtz stamp, and seems like a perfect sentiment for the page.  After all, it can't be easy being a girly, pretty skull girl in a work full of scary skulls.

EK's ATC Swap

Hey everyone!  EK here to share a post that really took me out of my comfort zone.

Anyone else feeling a little nervous about the new ATC Swap (Artist Trading Card Swap) happening over in the Facebook group?  Me too.

I have tried ATCs in the past, and it just hasn't ever been an something that I was happy doing.  So needless to say, joining in with the swap, has made me really nervous.  But I am also not the kind of girl who doesn't try.  So this past week I sat down with a couple of Oddball Art Digital Stamps and tried again with these strange little things called ATC.

I ended up doing two ATCs.  The first features digi #233, Big Eyed Baxter, who is sort of a creature right...he's a cat, not a human, so I am calling this project fulfilled!

The second ATC features the digi #34, Big Eyed Zombie Sheep.  And I learned this week, for me, the key to ATCs is keeping it simple and that less is more.

For more on these ATCs, check out my page here at ekgorman designs, so see the handful of products I used.

I can not wait till the 25th when I get to send these out to their new homes.  I never really thought I would be excited about this, but guess what...I am.  And I am even more excited to get my new ATCs from one of you.

Don't let your fear or nerves stand of your way to trying something new.  You might just love what you do.
