The End of Summer

There is still plenty of time to play with the currently Monthly Challenge over at Oddball Art!  This month's optional theme is Sweet Lemon Sour, so a really fun open theme to get involved and maybe even walk away with a prize from Oddball Art!

Today I am playing around with not only IMG 505 Creepy Cute Coconut but also the August exclusive stamp set for the Creepy Cute Chronicles premium subscription.
If you are not yet aware of the Premium Membership, it is a yearly subscription that not only gets you each month's premium digital image, but also instant access to all of the Creepy Cute Chronicles digital images.  Just so you know as of publication, there is 65 different images and on Friday, there will be one more!

I don't know about you, but the end of summer vacation, and well, frankly summer itself is quickly rushing up towards us.  And like a really good glass a Lemonade, I find it both sweet and sour.  The heat will soon be done, and the beauty of fall is on the horizon, and yet at the same time, the kiddos are back in school and the hectic race of that life making things just a little sour.  You might find it funny, but I actually like having the kids home on break, and each time a new school year starts, I get a little sad because of how fast they are growing.

So my project today is to sort of reflect those feelings I am having about the end of summer: the ice is melting, and the cocktail is gone.

I colored up my project with my copics and kept the card a single layered project.  I wrote in 'the end of summer' with my pen just so we don't think the card is too depressing.

Lost Souls of Innocent Dolls Art Journal Page

Hey Oddballs!  It's EK sneaking in to the blog to ask once again... Have you played along with this month's Lost Souls of Innocent Dolls challenge???

If you haven't, well why not?  Did you know that you can win digital stamps just for participating?  But did you also know that you do not have to make a card or paper-craft project?

Seriously, any kind of cool project featuring Oddball Art Digital stamps!

Today I am playing around with this month's theme and my Art Journal.

For this journal page, I pulled three different Oddball digis, IMG32 Zombie Panda, IMG33 Floppy Ear Zombie Bunny, and IMG34 Zombie Sheep.  The really cool thing about these digital stamps is that they are only 1 Dollar each!

There Were Too Many Other Options

Hey Oddballs!!!  It's EK from ekgorman designs sneaking in today to ask:  Have you played along with the current August Lost Souls of Innocent Dolls?  

Well, why not?  Did you know that there is a chance to win free digital stamps if you use an Oddball Digital stamps and play along with the theme?  And lets be honest...lost souls of innocent dolls...that theme works with 90% of all the Oddball Art!

Today I am playing along with the IMG48 Big Eyed Zombie Girl and trying to create a since of innocence with my CAS card.

For this project I pulled out my copic markers and colored up my little zombie girl.  To create a little bit of a sour skin tone I pulled out my E40, E41 and E42 to give her a little bit of that sickly tone.

Also I die cut out a panel in the card and added something that didn't make any since, an off white pineapple paper.  Yes you are right, the panel is illogical, but I love the idea that this little lady is looking out to something beautiful, yet surreal, without creating a real window.

I finally added a Tim Holtz snarky sentiment sticker, because frankly, this is the speech my little angels give me each and every day when they get into a bit of trouble.
