New Stamp Releases and Other Things....

HELLO!

If you are here from the BLOG HOP please click HERE to visit my blog hop post and enter my giveaway!

I have 5 new stamps in the shop today, well actually I added them a couple of days ago since I knew today would be a busy one and they have already been sold a few times so this is probably already old news to some of you! lol  BUT what you likely haven't seen yet is all of the beautiful samples created by my awesome design team!

2 of today's new releases are actually old stamps that I have redrawn to make new again....

the stunning card above was created by Bettina using IMG#22 Chloe which as you can tell by the number is one of the first few stamps I ever created.   I like to think that with every drawing I do, I get a little bit better at it.   So as time passes things will catch my eye in the older stamps and I feel an urge to redraw them lol

The timing couldn't have been more perfect with Miss Chloe and her sweet heart shaped balloon as Valentines Day is just around the corner.   If you already own the original version of this stamp it won't be difficult to spot the changes, but for those that don't, I have redrawn her head completely, touched up her clothing and the balloon just a little and added a brand new "sweetheart" sentiment to go with it as you can see in the stunning card above created by Tracey.

This adorable card above was created by Granne using Chloe and IMG#17 Patsy which is the other even older stamp that I redrew.

With Patsy I redrew her head completely and cleaned up the lines everywhere else.  With both Chloe and Patsy you get 1 smiling girly and 1 pouting girly in each set.

This next breathtaking card was created Naz using my brand new stamp Ziggy IMG#285

I chose to name her Ziggy since I was inspired to create her the day David Bowie died.   To say I was devastated by the news would be understatement, but I picked myself up & poured all of that emotion into my artwork.   I created 2 sketches that day, one of them became this stamp which as previously mentioned I titled ZIGGY and the other became a beautiful watercolor painting of a fairy that I titled STARDUST.

This stunning card above was created by Bettina and the next 2 beautifully colorful samples below were created by Delores...

Below you can see this super fun card created by Jenn she used my brand new image titled Mary-Jane IMG#286

I know this image isn't for everyone but those that do enjoy it I bet will really appreciate it lol  I actually didn't set out to create a new stamp with this one.   What happened was,  I painted up IMG#279 Long Day and decided to share it in 1 of my favorite facebook groups 420 Vegans as I figured the members there might really appreciate it, and it turns out they did, a lot!  So the group admin offered for me to use a piece of my artwork for their banner.   I looked at the banner they already had, which was AWESOME and decided if I was to replace it with my artwork it would have to be something brand new and just as awesome, so I got out my Twinkling H2O watercolors and got busy...

I painted the image above for the 420 Vegans banner and after realized that there may be people out there who would like to have this pot smoking girly as a stamp and so thats how Mary-Jane IMG#286 came to be!

The 5th and last new release I have to share with you today is another Seal Fundraiser Stamp Set 100% of the funds from the sale of this stamp set goes to charity and we are celebrating all month long with a Blog Hop, stop by and join in the fun, we have LOTS of prizes including an original watercolor painting, a giclee print and lots and lots of digital downloads to win!

The beautiful card above was created by my design team member Andrea using the new Seal Fundraiser Stamp Set.

This new set comes with an extra large jpeg coloring page and a zip file containing all of the images separated into their own png files with transparent backgrounds so they can be easily moved around the page or used individually as seen in some of the samples below....

Oddball Art Co. Presents....

SAVE THE SEALS

Canadian Seals need our help!

400,000

That's how many baby harp seals the Canadian fisheries minister has said that sealers will be allowed to bludgeon or shoot to death this year. These sensitive, social animals will be horrifically killed—often while other seals watch and wail in terror. Seals can be legally killed in Canada when they're just weeks old, and most will be stripped of their skin before they reach 3 months of age.

I could continue on for pages and pages about the atrocities committed each and every year here in Canada but that would get very depressing and make me sad and you sad and then there will be crying involved and we dont want that,  so lets keep this a happy place and I will give you some links at the bottom of this post to explore on your own time. I warn  you to prepare youself for what you will see if you click these links, it is graphic, horrific but worst of all it IS HAPPENING!  We cannot turn a blind eye to these atrocities, we need to stand up and be a voice for these innocent beings that cant speak for or defend themselves against humanity!

Over the coming weeks the Oddball Design Team will be creating all kinds of fun samples to inspire you with, using my SAVE THE SEALS DIGITAL STAMP SET 100% of proceeds from the sale of this stamp set will continue to be donated to IFAW's Canadian Seal Campaign!  Thanks to all of the hard work so far the hunt is currently at one of its lowest points in history, successfully closing markets for seal products in the European Union and Russia, we need to continue to ensure that new markets do not open up elsewhere in the world and keep up the fight til it is officially illegal to murder a seal here in Canada!
Check out the Thermometer on the right to see how much money we have raised so far!

100% of funds from the purchase of this Seal Stamp Set will be donated to IFAW

My DT Member Granne not only has created some beautiful cards with these stamps but she also created a "Sealed with a Kiss" sentiment that you can download for FREE from her blog! So be sure to stop by there and scoop that up as well as check out her fabulous makes!

If you do create a project with these Seal Images do not forget to enter it in this months Oddball Stamps Blog Challenge as the theme is "For A Cause" and entries will be accepted thru til April 14th at 10pm est.  #OddballartChallenge

I will be back on April 30th to share with you all of the fun projects that my team came up with over the coming weeks, as well as make the announcement of how many funds we are able to raise between now and then (you can keep an eye on that by watching the thermometer above and its also posted to the right on this blog.

and best of all after finding out just how passionate my design team members are about animals as I am (awesome sauce!) This is only the first of many of this type of event to come!

So when I come back on April 30th I will also announce what animal we will be "saving" next. (we are currently voting on it lol)

Here are those links I was talking about earlier....

Thank you for stopping by today!

I would also like to share the letter I received from IFAW regarding the Annual Seal Slaughter here in Canada...

Dear Lizzy,

The memory of "the waving seal" still haunts me.

The sun was brilliant that early spring day. We were documenting the hunt - filming from a helicopter - as a sealing vessel bore down on a group of seals.

The sealers began shooting the seals, and then beating them, and hooking them to drag them to their boat so they could skin them.

The seals were stacked in the boat in a bloody, lifeless pile. That's when I saw the waving seal.

At first I thought he was dead too. He lay on his back on the bottom of the boat, cut open by a knife from his throat to his belly, his eyes to the sky - like he was looking straight at us.

Then he waved his flipper. Just once at first, then over and over. It was as if he was saying to me "please help me, please help me."

I watched in anguish as the boat motored on ... and still the seal's flipper waved. The sealers kept shooting and clubbing seals and throwing them in the boat ... and still his flipper waved. Then finally, mercifully, the waving stopped.

The fight to end this cruel hunt needs YOU.

Tens of thousands of seals will be slaughtered in this year's hunt. That's a staggering number of animals.

In fact, the number is almost overwhelming to me. But then I think about the waving seal. And I remember that every seal, every single one, is a living and breathing being - capable of fear, of suffering in agonizing pain, and of caring so dearly for their young as they nurse them on the ice.

You've taken action for animals in need. Can you help us stop this cruel seal hunt?

I can tell you how it's an economic loser - over 30 years of government subsidies, resulting in the waste of tens of millions of taxpayers' dollars, has failed to create a viable sealing industry.

And I can tell you how it is impossible to make the seal hunt humane. Shooting seals from a moving boat, then hooking them in the face, while still alive and conscious - this is what we've documented and passed on as proof of the hunt's inherent cruelty.

And I can tell you how you have enabled us to make such progress in closing down markets for seal products. You've helped achieve bans in Russia and throughout the EU, and your support is now helping us engage in the ongoing legal challenge before the World Trade Organization to uphold that EU ban and keep this market closed for good.

But today I mainly wanted to tell you about the waving seal.

Waving to me in anguish. Waving in hopes of mercy. Waving for us to help.

Please help by making a donation today. We CAN win this fight to save innocent seals. But we need you.

P.S.: Every single seal's life matters. Please don't let their deaths be in vain. By making a gift now, you can help us stop this slaughter once and for all and help us give care and comfort to animals around the world.
