Historical society sets new date for annual meeting

DERBY - Due to the blizzard the Derby Historical Society's Annual Meeting was postponed to 2 p.m. Sunday (Feb. 17) at the First Congregational Church, 137 Derby Ave.

Guest speaker is Civil War hero Col. William Wooster, portrayed by James Connery, Jr. of Shelton.
Connery is a licensed Gettysburg Battlefield Guide.

Refreshments will be served.

Chamber postpones Breakfast Club meeting

DERBY - Due to the current weather forecast and with safety in mind, the Greater Valley Chamber of Commerce announced today it has postponed Friday morning's Economic & Investment Outlook 2013 Breakfast Club to Feb. 15.

The event, presented by BlumShapiro, will be held at Courtyard By Marriott, 780 Bridgeport Ave.
Registration, networking and breakfast will start at 7:30 a.m. Program will start at 8 a.m.

Guest speakers are Nicholas Perna, Ph.D, Economic Advisor, Webster Bank and Anthony V. Minopoli, Senior Vice President and CFO, Knights of Columbus.
