Those of you who read this blog via Internet Explorer (personally, I'm partial to Firefox) have not been able to much lately because of some unknown glitch that apparently has involved the post with the story "A Sub Strikes Back." I've deleted that post, as well as the graphics for the "Keep torture for consenting perverts only" post and the post about the movie Another Country. I'll repost the story another day.
Blogger is in the process of upgrading its software, and I have been reticent to switch to the new beta version -- mostly because beta versions are notorious for being buggy and I didn't want the stress. Apparently they've decided that those who fail to "upgrade" are the ones who will suffer the bugs.
Bastards. Never trust a company with the motto, "Don't be evil."
At any rate, a big, big, big thank you to sparkle for taking a look at the source code and finding the offensive post. Also thanks to poiesia who gave me a heads up that something was wrong (the blog always shows up fine in Firefox). I've decided I should probably check on how the blog looks once a week in IE. However, if you all ever notice an abrupt change in appearance and have a moment, feel free to email me heads-up!

Natty,
So pleased you were able to find the problem.
Shame you had to take out so many entries though (thankfully I read them first.)

LOL. Thanks. I guess I didn't really notice, since I'm reading blogs through Bloglines now...
Also, I tend to ignore it when things look strange the first couple of times, since Blogger takes strange notions and behaves oddly occasionally.
In my long experience in the IT industry, I have found that Microsoft tends to be very proprietary. If you don't do things their way, it is you fault. I suspect that Blogger suffers from the same problem. It is likely that the Blogger software works perfectly fine and generates perfectly correct and acceptable HTML code, but that IE does not render it correctly. Unfortunately, since so many people use IE, you're the one who gets screwed, not Microsoft.
So, please be kind to the programmers at Blogger, and direct your understandable ire towards the Evil Microsoft Empire.
I enjoy your writing and I hope you keep up your fine work.
Regards,
Frank
Thanks, shrew! While I did have to take down the story, I only had to take out just the pics for the other two posts -- the text is still up. But glad you did get to see/read them in their original state. :)
Oh, and thank you my dear sparkle! Yes, between Bloglines and Firefox, we never have to bother with blogs not showing up correctly. ;)
And you are so right, Frank Spanko, that Microsoft is the one that truly deserves my wrath. Indeed, in my email back to poiesia, I exclaimed how much I hated IE before I mentioned Blogger. I think Blogger got the blame in the title because I was having problems with posting to both of my blogs and was annoyed with Blogger by the time I finally figured out what was wrong. But it is true, everytime I have a problem with my blog's appearance it's always IE that's to blame rather than Blogger -- which, through Google, has close ties to Mozilla, the maker of Firefox. Seriously folks, switch to Firefox. Much, much better browser!
Oh -- and btw, I love your blog, Frank Spanko. I've been meaning to add it as a link and, well, as with so many other things lately, it's not quite gotten done. Soon to be remedied, God willing!
