a little taste of our May

SDC18380-001

We have one of our sons staying with us at the moment and it is always a joy to visit a zoo with him, he has always had a love of animals. We have several zoos nearby and we visited two of them.

SDC18268-001

The wolves were out looking for some food

The flamingos were doing what flamingos do

SDC18294

I can’t resist feeding the goats

SDC18299

These lions were rescued from a circus, the last time we saw them they were cowering in a corner, they look much happier now

SDC18328

most of the animals were out including this red panda

SDC18462

SDC18466

the otters were also very playful

SDC18410

one lovely evening we were taken out by our youngest son for an indian meal, it’s lovely to be thought of and given a treat, I am blessed with my children

SDC18237

hidden down the bottom of this post is something for me, a rare early morning photo as we go for a jog. At the start of the year I decided to take myself in hand and lose weight. I’ve lost a stone and thought it was time to take on another challenge so three times a week I’ve been going for a jog, hopefully by the end of the year a photo of a slender me will be at the top of the page!!

a few cards

I’m not getting much craft done at the moment but last week I made a few cards ready for some birthdays

SDC18256

SDC18243

SDC18250

The top two were made using an old Simon says Stamp kit I bought very cheaply. In answer to a question from Louise I got a while ago, these kits are very good value especially when your daughter buys them!

The bottom cards were from an online class I took using stencils, again this stencil was borrowed from my daughter, I’m so lucky she shares the same hobby as me.

zoom in in the garden

Helena has a meme over on her blog called zoom in zoom out and this week I’m able to take part.

SDC18219

this little fellow was keeping me company in the garden yesterday, I didn’t need much excuse to stop gardening and watch him

SDC18218

from a distance he is hard to spot, hopefully the neighbourhood cats can’t see him.

Do join in if you can over on Helena’s blog
