a little bit of digi scrapping as I get back to doing some craft. The kit is from a class by Jessica Sprague and the photo of my little granddaughter.

scavenger hunt
6. A historical landmark – for Rinda's scavenger hunt.
Have had a very busy but lovely time with all the family over the weekend. The house is now very quiet and I need to get myself organised and keep busy, I always feel a bit sad when everyone’s gone! My priority is sorting out everything I need for Shimelle's LSNED class, I’ve done this for quite a few years and think it’s my favourite class, it does help that autumn is also my favourite season. Anyone else taking this class?

on a mission!
Yesterday I decided was the day I would find an angel. We would walk to a little village nearby and visit their Church graveyard, I would not be beaten.
It was very hot but we bravely marched on, tired feet and a longing for a large, cool drink would not stop me. As we neared the church my heart sank, a funeral was taking place, I couldn’t march past the people with my camera ready for action. Telling myself off for a fleeting thought of “oh no, why did it have to be today”, we wandered off for a while to look at other things.
the village stocks caught my eye
a good job it didn’t say and for those with only thoughts of completing a scavenger hunt on their mind.
After the funeral had ended we went for a walk in the graveyard and now I have this
and this
and this one

Folk Week
It’s that time of year again and our quiet little seaside town has been taken over by weird people!!
It’s helped me get a couple more photos for Rinda's scavenger hunt though
The Morris Dancers are out in force so I have been spoilt for choice
15. someone dancing – I always look forward to watching this group of dancers.
7. a person playing a musical instrument – everywhere you turn there are people practising or playing music, I loved this little group.
we seem to have a lot of clog dancers this year
and each morning the children are entertained.

a month of birthdays!
August is a busy month for us with some special birthdays.
There was a special present hiding in our spare bedroom!
Which had to be tried out of course.
not just by the birthday girl
in fact eldest brother was so keen to ride and not having a bike of his own
Grandad had to dig Uncle A’s old bike out of the garage and spend an afternoon repairing it!

10things on the tenth
With all the sport on the television lately I’ve been thinking of making an album of our sporty activities over the years. As I looked through the photos one sport seemed to appear more and more, so here are 10 cricket photos.
1.
I blame it all on him!
We didn’t stand a chance, we all had to play.
Mum still joins in
I became a mean bowler, or so I like to think.
and Jenny would not be beaten by the boys
we started them young
and coached them well.
It didn’t matter that our garden was small.
we had determination to win
and now our grandchildren carry on!

scavenger hunt
here is another photo for Rinda's summertime scavenger hunt
9. a fountain – this little fountain is in our local gardens. When we first moved down here the grandchildren were quite small and we would often take them to the little play area here. Nowadays it tends to be in the autumn when we come, I’m still a big kid when it comes to searching for conkers!

making cards
I don’t know why I struggle so much with cards but they seem to take a lot longer to do than a layout. I spend ages searching the internet for inspiration and I’m so thankful a lot of very clever people are willing to share their creations.
I made these two cards yesterday having returned to my favourite blog for ideas http://www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/

at Grandma’s!
It’s the first Sunday of the month, August already and time to head over to Sian's blog.
I had a struggle thinking of a story for today and then I came upon this little slide photo.
There she is, my sweet little girl sitting up at the table for a birthday tea at Grandma’s. Everything was going well, both my children had behaved beautifully all day. I’d told them not to touch anything, to say please and thank you and most importantly, to eat up all that had been lovingly made for them. Finally the cake was brought in and happy birthday sung, time for a photograph to record a perfect day.
10 seconds after this was taken, my little darling was sick all over the table!!
This little story is part of Sian’s Storytelling Sunday, if you would like to read more then go to her blog here
Scavenger hunt link up
I’m really enjoying taking part in Rinda’s photo scavenger hunt, it’s encouraged me to stop watching the Olympics for a while and get out on a walk!!
Today we are having a link up party here and I’m looking forward to seeing other people’s finds, do go over and have a look.
17. A church – it may not be the prettiest of churches but somehow this little Sailor’s Church captured my imagination. How many tales could have been told by the congregation over the years and how many prayers for a safe return sent up.
