{SSSC 164}

Happy Sunday, everyone!!  I am so excited to share this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch with you all.  I must admit that the little, tilted tag made my heart race a bit when I first saw it but in the end it wasn't as big a deal as I thought it would be:

I always love when a color challenge has black as one of the colors so when I saw this one from the Colour Q, I jumped to use it!

4CCC-100 {Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue}

Have you all enjoyed your July? Can you believe it's almost over and August is right around the corner?  ACK!  Summer is the perfect time of the year for many to get married and that's the inspiration for this week's 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.  Lori is our hostess with the mostest and she has a recipe (of sorts) as well as a theme...she would like to see some wedding cards made with something OLD, something NEW, something BORROWED and something BLUE.  Fun, right?

For my card I used the current Sweet Sunday Sketch but this time I rotated it so it's on its side...

And here's how I used the recipe:

Something Old - I used my sewing machine for the stitching and I've had it for almost as long as I've been married...16 years.  It has seen MANY projects, sewn some clothes and quilted a couple of quilts and it's still running like new.
Something New - Both the heart die and the DSP.
Something Borrowed - See that little, clear button on the heart?  I snipped it off of one of my old shirts...it was the extra one they sew on the inside so I figured I might as well use it....right?  ;)
Something Blue - The paper and twine both have blue in them.

Need more inspiration?  Stop by the other Chicks' blogs to see how they made this recipe work.  Enjoy the last weekend of July and I'll see you back here on Sunday for a new Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!

4CCC-99 {Make a Box}

Hello everyone!  We've got a fun challenge for you this week over at the 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge.  Tamie is our hostess-with-the-mostest and she is challenging you all to make your own box.

There are tons and tons of fabulous tutorials over at Splitcoast Stampers that show you how to make your own box.  I used this one to make mine...oh so easy!!  There's a box for any occasion and most of them don't take a genius to figure them out. :)

I used this beautiful, bright, summery color combo from the CR84FN Color Challenge to make my box:

Still not sure what I'm going to put in this little gift box - almost don't want to give it away.  :)  Thanks for stopping by - don't forget to take a few minutes to stop by and visit the rest of the Chicks' blogs and see what kind of boxes they made.  Later, gators!

BIG News!!! {SSSC163}

I am sooooooo excited this morning!!!  The last week has been EXCRUCIATING trying to keep the secret a secret...but now I get to explode!  :)  I, along with four other very talented ladies, have been chosen to join Karen and the AMAZING DT over at the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!!!  I KNOW!  I can hardly believe it myself.  :)  I always have such a fun time playing with Karen's sketches that I know this will be an easy-peasy gig.  :)

Without further ado, here's this week's fabulous sketch and my take on it:

I decided to use the sketch the way Karen gave it to us for my very first week - no rocking the boat or flipping it around this time.  (But have no fear...there *will* be one before this sketch has expired :)   I also used the awesome color combo from the TCP Tuesday Challenge #218.  I *think* this combo is courtesy of one of the OTHER new Sweet Sunday Stampers, Lori Tecler!!!  LOVE it!  I used one of my favorite Cat's Pajamas images and the cloud die works perfectly for the horizontal strip.  Some embossing, a button and some fabulous red twine (from the Ribbon Carousel via my friend, Jenny...she ordered it twice!  I've never done that before...have you? :), and it's all done!

All of the fabulous Sweet Sunday Stampers have inspiration for you, so please stop on by and say hello:

And our amazing guest stamper for this week is Jen Shults

Thanks for stopping by and letting me share my awesome news with you all!  Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

4CCC-98 {Stripes}

Welcome back!!!  It's Thursday again (already?) and that means it's time for another 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge and this week I'm your hostess-with-the-mostest.  I decided to go with something fairly simple...STRIPES!!  You can make them straight (or not), big (or little), thick (or thin)...you decide!  As long as we can see stripes, you're golden. :)

For my card, I used last week's Colour Q combo and Mojo Monday - it's been awhile since I've used a Mojo Monday sketch and this one was FUN.  :)  Tried to keep it fairly CAS...

Thanks for stopping by - stripes make a card so much fun and I can't wait to see how you incorporate them into your projects!  Have a fabulous day - and if you have time, try and pop by on Sunday... I've got some amazing news to share with you!!!  'Til then... ;)

4CCC-97 {Red & White}

Welcome to Summer Holidays, everyone!!!  Are you ready for two months of having the kids home?  We don't have any plans to go away on a big vacation but I'm sure we'll have a few days at the lake and at my parents' place.  I'm sure it won't be long before I hear the dreaded, "Mom...I'm bored." :)

This week's 4 Crafty Chicks' Challenge is hosted by our lovely Leanne and, to honor our Canadian roots, she would like to see your Red & White cards!!  I LOVE this combo - always so striking.

I have been really good so far this year at playing along with Jen's monthly Sketch for You to Try- I've used last month's sketch and flipped it on its side...

You can't have too many "Thank You" cards, right?  That's it for me today - enjoy the rest of the week and the weekend!!!  Hopefully the sun will be shining wherever you are.  :)
