Welcome back, everyone! I had SO MUCH FUN making today's project I just couldn't wait to share it with you. This week,
TCP Tuesday is celebrating challenge #200 and, boy-o-boy, do they have a lot going on! To start with, Alma has compiled a
Cat's Pajamas Sketch Book featuring virtually every sketch challenge in
TCP history - Ummmm..hello!!! You can download it and save it and have it forever... and it's FREE!!
But that's not all! No siree! Comment on any of The Cat Packers' blog
posts that feature the 200th TCP Tuesday Sketch Challenge by Tuesday,
March 13 and you could WIN the complete NEW release! And that includes the dies, too! O-M-G!!! What could be better than that? And the Cat Packers always have such amazing cards - great inspiration. :)
SO - here is this week's TCP Tuesday #200 - a fabulous sketch from Leigh...
As you all know, I really {love} TCP - like, REALLY a LOT. So, to celebrate with them, I wanted to make something that used ONLY TCP products (aside from the paper and ink). When I first saw the sketch, it screamed at me to use my
Flower Buttons die for the squares. I don't use that one nearly enough but it is so perfect. I also knew I wanted to use felt for them and if I put that many felt flowers on a card, I'd never be able to fit it in any sort of envelope AND I'd have to mortgage my house to pay for postage. What to do?? I KNOW - make a shadow box! I popped into our local dollar store yesterday and picked up an inexpensive 5X7 shadow box frame - can't beat $4!
I let the ideas tumble around in my head overnight and got to work first thing this morning. After a small break mid-morning to go to the gym, I got home and finished it up. LOVE how it turned out!
First... without the shadow box:
A bit of a close-up of the felt flowers (
Purple People Eater & Green With Envy felt) and sentiment (
Circus Panels Cut-ups and
"Ewe Complete Me"). You can also see the
Apron Border Cut-ups die and the Big Scallop Border die. OH! And we couldn't forget about the
TWINE!!! Yummy, yummy twine...
And here she is inside the shadow box - I wanted to take a pic without the glass but, unfortunately, this box didn't allow me to do that. (I guess you get what you pay for! LOL) So, please excuse the reflection - I did the best I could!
I really enjoyed making this little project this morning and hope you enjoyed it as much as I did. :) Thanks for stopping by today - and, really, ...make a point of visiting the Cat Packers. You won't be sorry! Later, Alligators! :)
