Two (very simple) Pinterest Success Stories!

If you're like me, you love Pinterest.
{and I'm sure we all Pin way more things than we try}
Well...this weekend, I actually used two ideas that I'd pinned from two of my favorite bloggers.
And both turned out to be
SIMPLE
and
LOVELY!
The first was a FIVE ingredient Pumpkin Spice Cake.
I mean, she had me at FIVE!
Even my non-cake eater loved this.
It was so moist and absolutely delicious!

And then I stumbled upon a
"kill two birds with one stone" craft!
First, I cleaned out my over-stuffed spice cabinet.
{on my to-do list for weeks...this craft got me motivated!}
Once the glass spice jars were cleaned out,
they became sweet bud vases
for my Thanksgiving table!
Blog post included printable tags and labels.
Once again...
SIMPLE
and
LOVELY!

Both of these bloggers inspire me!
They keep it simple and they are so creative.
Our Thanksgiving was sweeter thanks to their Pinspiration!

Six Word Fridays: Wish

Oh how I wish our little
town was bursting forth with color.
I'm longing for a little glimpse
of yellow - my favorite springtime color!
I'd jump a fence for a
forsythia bush...walk a mile for
jonquils, tulips a crocus or a
darling daffodil. Truth is I'd even
settle for a field of dandelions!

To satisfy my longing, since Mother
Nature's in no rush, I reached
for my laptop and opened up
Pinterest! From there, a lovely wreath
I made...a yummy dinner too!
And best of all - a Peeps
dessert to dress my Easter table.

After all, this girl has gotta
do whatever it takes to get
some springtime yellow into her life!

{Peeps cake Pinspiration here}

I'm linking up with
Nurture Photography
to "show off" my yellow!

I Love the Lights at Christmas Time!

"Oh, Christmas lights, light up the street,
Light up the fireworks in me.
May all your troubles soon be gone,
Those Christmas lights keep shinin' on."
                                                                     Coldplay

 'Tis the Season...
Falalalala, Lalalala.

The weather outside is frightful...
I just wish it was snowing!

All is calm ~ tree lights on, carols are playing

O Christmas tree!
This colorful tree is my favorite one on our street!

Away in a manger!
My new silhouette manger scene...isn't it beautiful!?!
When my daughter got married last year she took our traditional creche to her new home...
It was always her favorite part of decorating!
So I searched and searched...and found this idea
on our beloved Pinterest.

NEW Interest!

I've discovered Pinterest!!
I've been excited to venture onto Pinterest for quite some time. But I waited until after my daughter's wedding. Until I had a bit more free time. Cause I knew once I started "pinning" I'd be hooked! And I am. I really love looking at all the creative ideas floating around the web! I've shared about some Christmas crafts {herehere and here} and a cute recipe idea I copied {here}. I have also tried out this easy recipe and I think it's well on its way to becoming part of our Christmas morning tradition.

It's so yummy ~ you get that great pancake taste without having to stand and make lots of individual pancakes. I've been asked to try adding blueberries or chocolate chips and see what happens! Here's our Christmas morning deliciousness!!

Scrappy, Happy Holiday!

Some of you might have work Christmas parties.
I have workshop Christmas parties!
This Tuesday {with the regulars} we did a little celebrating.

Which means:

Red and Green M & M's!

A few give aways and a raffle basket!

ADORABLE Santa Hat Brownies for dessert!

This idea was one of the first that I found and copied from
Pinterest (my new found addiction)
I altered/dumbed down this recipe,
Note the pre-made brownie bites, and the frosting in a can.
These were easy and fun and just might reappear on Christmas day!
My only helpful hint is to take the white nozzle off the can and use the thin one underneath.

We got LOTS of scrapping done, in spite of all our celebrating!

I love my Tuesday group ~ they spoiled me with lovely gifts, we laughed and shared the latest of our Christmas preparation woes. Got some pages done. And had {as always} a jolly old time!
