Hey everyone!
Today I'm on the Get it Scrapped blog with another December Daily layout from last year.
It's day 23 of my album. I am adapting the nordic style to my style...
You remember that donut box that was showing into the day 22? Well here it is! I didn't want to cover it (that's how special Tim Horton is now to me after 20 years not living in Canada anymore! ha!) So anyway, I made a mini page/polaroid style frame that I attached to one of the ring of the album.
This is some patterned paper from my Winter Joy collection with Pretty Little Studio. It's a music partition in French s'il-vous-plait! :) I added a tag, also from my collection as well as a tiny die cut (coffee break). Keeping the color combo to red, white and silver make for a nordic style layout.
Here's the first photo on the small frame.
And it's back side.
Simple but effective! And most importantly, the story is there. :)
See you soon for one last December Daily page!

Pretty Little Studio | December Daily
Hello everyone!
Here's another update on my 2015 December Daily that I finished this November.
I really loved working with my Winter Joy collection. I didn't have every product on hand but even with the small loot I had, I found it easy to embellish and journal.
This little tag must be one of my favorite product of the collection.
I used some pages from my little notebook from Ali Edward's kit last year to add some journaling.
This is the other side of that small pocket.
Here I used lots of my Here comes the sun collection, which is a summer collection but I think in the back of my mind I created it with my december daily in mind. lol So the letters and numbers are just perfect for a stunning title or the number of the day. I also used the gold star paper as the background of my page.
I don't know if you caught that on Instagram but at the beginning of November I was the lucky winner of some really cute acrylic Christmas lights and stars from Color Cast Design. Here they are! I like that the colors are complementing my picture so well! I also love that even though the picture is really dark, we see the transparency of the pink light very well. I adhered them in place but in a way that it would look like they are not glue down. I used my white gel pen to write directly on my photo and it worked great!
My friend Kareen Dion from Accent Scrapbooking was so nice and sent me some beautiful flair buttons she designed. My absolute favorite one is that fleur de lys one because it's the emblem of Quebec, where my home is. I love that the metallic blue goes hand is hand with my house tag. The theme of "home" was so obvious that I used them on the day I was going home for the holiday.
Look at the beautiful acrylic stars, again from Color Cast Design.
A very simple page which consist of a large photo of my mom's cat, hiding from us. I like that we see the tree and the Christmas village.... everything in my mom's house is so beautiful and Christmasy.

In the center pocket I have some journaling, the numbers (from my Here Comes the Sun collection) and I just dropped lots of red sequins. The pocket is very deep so I didn't bother to close the pocket with my fuse.
You might have noticed the Tim Horton donut box peeking under there. I'll keep it for next time. ;)
Have a great day guys! And keep up documenting, it's so worth the effort!!

Pretty Little Studio | December Daily
Hello everyone!
My goal this November was to finish my December Daily from last year (2015). I had to stop doing it when I left to visit my parents in Canada and left it untouched at day 12, knowing that I would want to finish it this November to get in the Christmas spirit! If you can remember, last year in November I re-did my 2009 December Daily and I really enjoyed the process of looking back and of slowly getting fired up for the coming Christmas. Read all about it here.
This year was a different situation though. I was pretty busy with the Christmas collection coming out in November so I felt like I had to catch up and I was afraid I could never do it! But today (I'm writing this blog post November 18th) I can tell you that I did reach my goal. Last night in fact I made the finishing touches to the last pages! :)
Today on the Pretty Little Studio blog, you can see the pages 13 to 17. Here are some pictures of what you'll see over there. Please head over for a list of the products I used and more detailed shots. :)
One thing I particularly enjoyed this year was to use my own collection Winter Joy which you can pre-order right here. I hope you'll check it out.

December Daily 2015
Hi everyone!
How are you all doing? :)
I'd like to share with you a couple of pages from my December Daily album. I am drowning in work but I can't not have this baby on my blog. :) So here are just the first pages for now. Expect to see more soon.
I went with a beautiful golden album from Becky Higgins this year. The format of a full page protector is 6x8 and it's a lovely size to work with.
I have several products to work with. I bought Ali Edwards' main kit, Citrus Twist Kits December Documented Kit and almost the whole Pretty little Studio collection. I have a couple of little gems left from my Hip Kit Club December Documented kit that I used for my December Daily 2009 album I made in November. Of course I still have boxes full of goodies left from past years too.
The first page of my album is one from Ali Edwards' kit. I love the simplicity of the white with a sprinkle of gold foiled stars. I simply added 2015 red Thickers that I stitched in place with gold thread.
Day 1: The return of our Elf Harmony and the advent's calendars she brought.
On that page I love the mix of red and kraft. With my kraft custom journaling card, I wanted to give the feel of the gifts that our Elf brought. It's also because that song, My favorite things from the Sound of Music is one of our family favorite. :) I also love the touches of red foil (Washi tape on the tags) and gold foil (journaling card).
I have a couple of cards in my stash that I'm holding onto since a long time. They are mostly gold! :) And this album is perfect to grab them all and fill the pockets with journaling! I find it very practical when the notes our Elf write are on 3x4 cards. ;) And when Arielle wants to write a note to Harmony, she knows where to get the cards too. :) I don't really worry about which cards we used. Red, gold, this company or that one, at the end everything seems to always blend nicely together.
Oh and having your child write to their Elf is a great way to incorporate their handwriting in the album. That's the most precious thing!!!!
I have several number styles. I mix them up. I don't have a system. I take the one that seems fitting when i do the spread. :) I love to add small die cuts and stickers too. Pretty Little Studio has the prettiest!!!!
Sometimes, when a card has 2 sides, like this one where the Elf wrote on the back side, I will make sure the card is easily accessible (look for the opening. If the card goes in the pocket in the back of the page, it's probably not the best spot for it. Top pockets are always great!) and I will add some kind of tab or ribbon or in this case a die cut that is easy to grab and I'll add a small note saying pull. I'm just realizing now that that this could refer to the pull up diapers. It was not my intention... 2nd language problems. ;) But it's ok. It's all ok. :)
Daughter's hand writing goes directly in the album. No need to add anything :)
Labels of all sizes and colors are always always always my go to to add little snippets, or bigger snippets, of journaling.
When i go back to look at older December Daily albums, I always find that these big pictures are the best!!! And they are easy to work with in a small album like this.
Ok, that's it for today. I hope you enjoyed the start of my album. :)
I promise to show you more very soon.
Oh and come back tomorrow morning as I will let you tour my studio!!! :)

Art Impressions | Christmas Cards part II
Hey again everyone!
Here's another card I made with the beautiful stamp set from Art Impressions!!
I would like to enter it as well to the BE MERRY challenge. :)
And to the Anything Christmas challenge from Penny Black. :)
This time I used the three cute snowmen.

And to the Anything Christmas challenge from Penny Black. :)
This time I used the three cute snowmen.

I cut out a round opening on the front of my card with my Spellbinders. I inked a circle shaped piece of cardstock that is slightly larger than my opening with some ink. I then used a stencil to add some molding paste and before the paste was dry, I sprinkled some sparkly powder over it.
These little guys were colored using Prismacolor pencils and Gamsol and at the end I used some Wink of Stella in clear to add some serious shimmer that I LOVE!! That Wink of Stella makes all the difference on the card, I'm telling you!! Finally I stamped the sentiment "Warm Wishes" on a piece of cardstock and I drew a small sign around it. I colored the snow the same way i did my snowmen and I added Wink of Stella there too. The snowmen and the sign post were cutout and adhered with dimensional foam.
There you go! I hope you like it. I wish I had a better way of photographing my cards because in real life it's 100 times cuter than on these pictures. :(
I asked a photo box for Christmas.... :)

Art Impressions | Christmas cards
Hi everyone!!
This is my second post for today. I couldn't wait to show you the 2 Christmas cards I've been working on yesterday!! :) I made them using the stamp set I chose when I won an honorable mention with this card last week! And I'm entering both of them to this week's BE MERRY challenge over at Art Impressions, and to the Anything Christmas challenge from Penny Black. :) Hoping that I can win one more time and get myself another awesome stamp or two, just in time for the Holidays!!! (These stamps are addictive I'm telling you!)
Here's the stamp set that won my heart last week!!

And here is one card I made with it:
![]()
It is a shaker card. I cut out an opening in the front of my card. And right behind the window I adhered 2 acetate that I stitched together leaving an opening at the top. I filled my clear pocket with come sequins in a modern Christmas color scheme and with some stars that I punched in gold glitter carsick and that I adhered back to back, so that it wouldn't be white when we open the card and look at the pocket from the inside of the card. I stitched the pocket closed and rerun the card through my sewing machine to make a double border.
![]() I then stamped my little reindeer and colored him with Prismacolor pencil and Gambol. I cut him out leaving a white border and I adhered him in front of my card with some foam adhesive. ![]()
I finally stamped my sentiment in the inside of the card so that we would see it through the window. :)
Voilà !!
I hope you like it!! Did you start working on your Christmas cards yet?? And if so, are you doing many cards or do you stick to one model that you're going to repeat? I'd love to see. :) Marie |
