christmas wish list: morgan

i finally managed to get my wish list put together! we got together with some friends yesterday and we were talking about christmas and someone mentioned that as you get older you seem to not care as much about presents and what you are getting. for some this may not be true...but for me...it has been. don't get me wrong, i love getting presents ;) but as they say...you start to learn that giving presents is a lot more exciting! nevertheless....i did finally come up with a wish list for this year.

1. A royal nails professional UV light. for a while now i have wanted to get one of these so i can start doing my own (and others) gel/shellac nails. it's so much nicer than regular fingernail polish and being a licensed cosmetologist....i can get the colors and such at wholesale! also...if i can get good enough...i want to be able to do other peoples! this brings me to #2...

2. Hand and Nail Harmony 5 piece marble tool collection. once i can get a little practice, these tools help you do cool designs on your nails!

3. recently, verizon finally kicked me out of the grandfather plan i was in where i had unlimited data. :( bummer.... so now i can't stream pandora and spotify wherever i go and however i please.... so i need to start buying music again, i guess. :) and taylor swift has been on replay at our house lately. i think i may need her new cd.

4. satin smooth student wax kit. i have been in dire need of a waxing kit since leaving cosmetology school. i was spoiled there....could wax the brows whenever i pleased! and now....i'm forced to tweeze...and i am not so diligent at it. a waxing kit would be so nice to have! and i could wax all of your guys' bushy eyebrows, too!! ;) win/win!

5. i'm not really a "wear pajamas to bed" kind of gal. i'm usually just in a t shirt and sweats or something similar depending on the season. so around christmas i usually ask for sweats/comfy clothes in general instead of normal pajamas. these under armour sweats look soooo comfy. and i love the new style of sweats that are slimmer at the bottom. also, hello apparel makes some cute stuff. i love this hello sweater in all colors!

6. i have been wanting to delve into the red lipstick wearing club for a while but i wanted a shade that looked good on my skin. after some pinterest-ing i found a website that said these two would look good with my skin type! now.... i have to be brave enough to actually wear it. :/

7. clothes clothes clothes!!! i've mentioned this before but i felt like after i had grant, i was waaaaay out of the loop when it came to my wardrobe. and i hate everything in it. and i always want clothes...lets get real. i have been loving all kinds of sweaters, cute baseball T's, plaid button ups, and since i'm nursing and can't currently wear dresses, i'm always on the lookout for a cute skirt. i've been loving the midi skirts! here and here. {although...i would never pay that much for a skirt....anthropologie...get real}.

8. accessories! this is one thing i always want but never buy. i just always would rather spend my money on something else. but then the next day i'm getting dressed and wish i had some accessories! i'm currently loving statement necklaces and these cute oversized watches. here and here. {again..both outrageously expensive and i would hunt for a less expensive knock-off ;)} i also currently love stackable bracelets, and dainty layering necklaces when you don't want a chunky look.

9. hunter rain boots. i know....these are so trendy and i keep thinkin they are gonna go out of style so i have never wanted to pay the money and actually purchase them...and then the next season comes and there they are again....teasing me in every cute pinterest photo. {by the time i actually get any...if ever...they probably will be out of style ;)} i'm currently loving these shorter ones

10. scarves and slouchy beanies. you can never have too many, am i right?? i am. i love this herringbone infinity scarf and these CC slouchy beanies

so there you have it!! and although i've only posted wish lists.... i know christmas isn't really about buying and receiving christmas presents. i have really been brainstorming christmas traditions i want to start with my little family to bring the spirit of christmas into our home. it's such a wonderful season, isn't it???!!!

happy december everyone!

christmas wish list: norman

so i don't know if your husbands all have the same problem mine does....but he always wants big things that cost a million dollars. all these men always say oh you women are so hard to shop for! i call BULL! boys are SO hard to shop for. at least the men in my life are. they either want something huge or they could care less. it's very frustrating. so this is norman's true wish list....cause he ain't gettin nothing on it. sorry, boo. and he literally hasn't told me anything else that he wants....so that makes christmas shopping for him fun....i threatened getting him clothes for christmas if he didn't get me a list soon (which he always desperately needs but gives me that little boy cute pouty face when i tell him i'm going to get him some...so then i botch it).

1. a 2015 chevy silverado 2500 duramax diesel with an allison transmission. located at any chevy dealer. ;) i'll get right on that, boo.

2. this boy of mine is never satisfied, i swear. he begged me for forever to allow him to get a pontoon. so i did....and he got one. and has one. well that wasn't good enough i guess...cause now he wants a three man pontoon. i can't keep up....

3. a mossberg 500 flex. don't know much about this even though he's told me about it a million times and has shown me one in walmart every.single.time we are in there. all i can remember is that it can turn into a tactical gun as well. or something.....i may be wrong. i should listen better.

4. a baja bug. we have been a one car household over here for quite some time. and it's worked out pretty good. and it's been cheap for us. which is nice when you're a poor college family. we dabbled in getting another mode of transportation. whether it be a bike (we live close to campus) or a scooter, and norman came up with a baja bug...we decided we didn't really need another vehicle or mode of transportation and that we are doing just fine how we are...but norman is still stuck on a baja bug....not gonna happen right now. but it's fun to wish!! :)

5. a gopro hero 4. now this one i genuinely wish i could get for him because the story behind it is so disappointing. we had some close friends who had a family members dad fighting cancer and were doing a challenge where you jump into a cold body of water and film it and donate money to help. so we got nominated and went to jump in the snake river {a not scary part...that river scares me}. norman thought it would be fun to film it with his gopro and jump in with it on his head with his head mount he had. so i jumped in first and got out and went to watch him jump in and as he came up...the gopro was no longer on his head....and we were in a deeper part where you couldn't get to the bottom....we were sooooooo sad. if only he would've stuck his hand on his head, it wouldn't have been lost. we seriously just get sick thinking about it. we even had some professional divers offer to go down and look for it and they did but to no avail. :( it was so sad. he felt so bad and i felt so bad for him. so i genuinely wish i had some extra cash layin around to get him this. but one day....i will!!!

so anyway, that's what i have to deal with. and i have a dad that is the same way! he always wants something huge. like a corvette. or something. what am i supposed to do with that??? these men in my life, i tell ya. please tell me i'm not the only one with this problem.....

my wish list will be coming soon! and it's a lot more practical. :)

christmas wish list : grant

i know we aren't supposed to be thinking about christmas, yet...and i know people have some very strong feelings about "skipping thanksgiving". but i don't care. nor do i think getting christmas ideas and christmas shopping done early means we're "skipping thanksgiving" it just means we aren't procrastinators.

so with that being said, here is the first installment of the reece christmas wish list: grant.

1. an ergo baby carrier. i have heard from a good amount of people that the ergo baby carrier is the best for infant up to toddler years. i have a wrap, but as grant gets bigger i feel like i need something with better support. and something my husband will wear, too. :) so i guess technically this isn't on grant's wish list...more like mine...but whatever.

2. books! but not just any books....my favorite books. i love brown bear brown bear what do you see, the very hungry caterpillar, i love you forever, and first 100 words. i actually haven't read first 100 words, but i heard it was a good one. the other three are favorite kid books of mine that i'm sure my little guy will love, too! the old classics are the best, i love the illustrations in them.

3. i know. i know. the whole moccasins thing is SO very "trendy" right now....but gosh...they are dang cute. but pricey! therefore...just on the "wish list" not necessarily the "get list" ;). these two are my favorites though, the buffalo from minimoc, and the black ice from non other than freshly picked. i want to eventually get him some in a size where he can walk in them! cause shoes at this age are sometimes a joke...he just kicks those suckers off.

4. baby leggings. are they the cutest or what?!! so stylish yet so comfy for baby. as cute as baby jeans are...they don't seem so comfy for little humans learning how to move and work their bodies! so sometimes you gotta throw on some leggings to keep it cute but practical. i seem to have expensive taste though...some can get a little pricey. these leggings are from two of my favorites, vonbon and wild little comfies

5. winter clothes!! i love dressing up my little man, i won't lie. and winter clothes are the CUTEST. little sweaters and plaid and flannel shirts! i about die. my favorite places for my little guy are target {probably the only one i can afford right now}, old navyh&m, and gap

6. toys. grant has been very much interested in new toys. i love these wood ones from ikea. wood just seems good and sturdy for little boys. and they're really cute. grant also loves balls. one of his favorite toys right now is this mini basketball we have for one of those little basketball hoops that hang on the back of your door. the closest he's come to crawling was after that little ball. it'll be fun to get him some new learning toys for christmas.

7. and last but not least. jammies! nothing is better than babies in jammies. nothing i tell you. and these pajamas from gap are about doing me in. they are so cute! i love the two piece little jammies like these. put my little in these and i'll eat him right up!

so there you have it. grant's little wish list. what he'll actually get is a whole different story. but it's fun to wish, right???
