The opposite defect of myopia is hyperopia or "farsightedness" or "long-sightedness"—this is where the cornea is too flat or the eye is too small."

What a surprise! The guy talking to me and giving all this unsolicited trivia is non other than Kuya Kim, the famous TV host of the educational TV Show Matanglawin.

So I asked, him, "Kuya Kim what is the most effective treatment for Myopia?"

Kuya Kim answered right away, "LASIK  (laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis) is a type of refractive eye surgery for treating myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. LASIK is performed by ophthalmologists using a laser. LASIK is similar to other surgical corrective procedures such as photorefractive keratectomy, PRK, (also called ASA, Advanced Surface Ablation) though it provides benefits such as faster patient recovery.
