Issue #4 of Horrorshow magazine featured an in-depth article on character designer, sculptor, illustrator and make-up man Miles Teves. My first exposure to Teves' work came in the form of the Demon Vampire mask featured in the 1991 Death Studios catalog...

The article is a well-rounded look at Teve's many talents, and contains several nice photos of sculpts and monster masks...

The Distortions Unlimited Alien mask released in 1980 remains one of the rarest and most sought after Distortions masks ever produced. This write up from Aaron Lewis of Monster Mayhem contains some history on the mask, and a really amazing story of how Aaron obtained his copy.

The article came from Horror Show #5 which featured this great Demon Mask from the Monster Makers on the cover. Issue 5 was chocked full of mask goodness which I post here at some point in the future. Until then, enjoy this ghoulish stroll down memory lane!

Horrorshow #2 - Jordu Schell Feature

Horrorshow magazine was bar none my favorite publication from 2006-2008 featuring great articles on masks, garage kits, creature designers, and a whole lot more. I haven't seen a new issue hit the news stands in quite sometime now, hopefully we'll see more in the future.

Issue #2 was the first copy of Horrorshow that I had the pleasure of finding and it featured a huge 20+ page article on my favorite creature designer and mask maker, Jordu Schell! As if this wasn't enough, the issue winds down with a great article featuring a one-of-a-kind custom mask!
