Euro Iggy was thrilled to explore the sparkling world of diamonds at Gassan Diamonds in Amsterdam, where she learned how a rough clear rock is turned into a shiny diamond. She got a few lessons on estimating the value of a diamond and was blinded by an array of dazzling girls' best friends!
Miss Iggy was amazed at this wedge-shaped museum called NEMO, which is the largest science center in the Netherlands.
At its interactive exhibits, you can discover cool things like what you'll look like thirty years from now, how to purify water, what happens when you kiss someone and how lightning and satellites work.
Miss Iggy was charmed by the famed Amsterdam houses along the canals. They're narrow, have gables and tip forward. Apparently the forward lean doesn't just make the houses seem larger, but also makes it easier to lift objects up and into the house through the windows. Since the staircases are pretty narrow, an easy way of moving furniture was developed by putting hoists into the gable for lifting the objects. The tilt prevents the furniture from bumping into the housefront.
