Challenge 62 OOTH

Well here we are at the end of the month and it my last guest appearance  for the wonderful ladies at Out of the Hat challenge.
The brief I was given was Jewel in the crown, what ever that means to you, my mind wandered to the TV series of the same name then the crown jewels and rubies but did you know that what was thought of be a ruby, is in fact a spinel !

So here's my offering of an ATC. I wonder what the other have done ? and where it will take you !

Faces

A nice easy challenge from OOTH this week with the theme of faces the only difficulty is deciding which one, I dug deep and found one I haven't used in a very long time, I think it came from Third Coast stamps and it's just the right size for an ATC

Have a great Easter break and thank you for popping by

Challenge 24 Artful times

Spots and stripes / circles and lines that's the theme for the next fortnight at Artful Times.
Whether you choose to make a background or use them in your main images I'm sure you will have fun and make something amazing .

For my ATC I have used just 3 colours of distress re-inkers picked raspberry, salty ocean and mowed lawn, I applied a drop of each colour to a baby wipe and striped a piece of card then with out re-inking coloured another piece of card, I used that for the background and stamped some line in the same colours and using the bold striped card for the border and spots stamped the bird and then paper pieced onto the ATC

Hope you like it and join in the fun and Neet and I will be more than happy to visit you :)

Birds and Butterflies

Just for a change I started with a piece of pale green card and stamped my butterfly background from Crafty Individual with bleach didn't work as well as I hope but carried on regardless and inked with tumbled glass and stamped again with the bleach, dried it with the heat gun and wow love the colour it turned, stamped the Crafty Individual birds in green and coloured with scattered straw.

I'd like to enter this ATC in

Out of the Hat Challenge birds and butterflies

Thank for stopping by I do appreciate it :)

Artful Times and mainly green

What an amazing first challenge we have had at Artful Times with 38 enties and 68 wonderful followers :)
Sam's choice this fortnight and she would like to see a mainly GREEN background so off I went and had a messy play time with some inks made the similar way as Netty's on  Happy Daze but no matter how I tried ! it would photograph well, but has happens when you have a play you then can't decide what to do with it so it sits and waits inspiration .
Ok let's try again. Honest there is no white on the background :( I stamped an embossed in clear on a light green wrinkle free background then inked over with the darker green and splashed with water and iron the clear embossing powder to melt it away ready for ...... opps inspiration walked out the door so they also sit wating to be finished off
I really don't think my camera likes green as this is an alcohol ink back ground on glossy card stamped with a Crafty Individual stamp in black Archival and again onto some inked paper and cut out the butterfly and flower so it's a simple atc from me this week
You will find lots more inspiration from Sam and Neet at Artful Times and hope you will all join us again :)

Catching up

Oww what a wet old day it is here ! Thought I had better show my face as I haven't posted for a while.
I've been catching up on the dreaded and some swaps not to mention that my craftroom is all over the house at the moment as the walls need repairing so finding the right stash to use is maddening !
A couple of atc's using masks
A Kanban stamp paper pieced
and last a card for a nursery rhyme swap, again stamped onto paper and cut out .
I had a fab day out yesterday at the Stamp Attic ( what an amazing shop ) where I did a workshop with Hels and I loved the faux suede technique she taught us it felt so real :)

Week 29 Just for Fun

We certainly saw some amazing white on white last week, what a creative bunch for crafters you all are, not an easy one.
You are all going to find this week much easier at Just for Fun as Sam has choosen Black and White but how creative can you be :)
For mine I have made an atc on black card and my favourtie style of doodleing with a ruler ( I've been doing this since the 70's on and off ) to create a frame for the white embossed rose and then also embossed the edges
Don't forget to check out what the other team members have created and we look forward to seeing yours :)

Just for Fun Challenge

Can you believe it we are in June and now half way through the year, where has the time gone !

There are 5 Wednesdays in June so we the DT team at Just for Fun are having a week each, I have this the first week and I have chosen a theme of  I Spy With My Little Eye
There are some beautiful eye stamps and images and I'm sure we all have some in our collection gathering dust, well mine are lol so thought I should blow the cobwebs off and give one an airing and I think you'll agree with me that the team have done a fantastic job :)
I have made an atc the background is done with DI stains and the image stamped with archival with the eye bleached out and edged with Viva metal effect and Viva Croco .
I don't know about you but looks as if someone from the past, is looking into the futrue.

Thanks for stopping by and hope you have some fun with this weeks challenge :)

Just for Fun week 15

Just reposting one that blogger forgot ............. lets hope there's not another glitch in the system
Here we are at the second week of Neets choice of size matter and it Scraplings you know the bits you get left over when cutting a square card , 11" x 2 1/2 .
I've turned mine into an easel card with an ATC for a topper. Simply score and fold across the middle and 3 1/2 from each end you should have something that looks like an M when folded but you all know how to mak an easle card don't you :)

Paint Fusion Daisy's

Yesterday some friends and I got together for a paint fusion play and Sue bless her gave us each a frame she had crackle painted for us which turned out to be the perfect frame for my finished picture. for the background I used distress stains in fired brick and sugar spun direct to paper and a scribble of broken china I picked up from the craft mat .

Not sure if you can see it but I used a gold paint in with the green for the leaves on this atc

Wedding Atc's

I'd quite forgotten I had this stamp and found it lurking in the bottom of a box not sure who made the the stamp but if you know then please do tell :).
Stamped in versfine and coloued with distress inks, the frame which fits it perfectly is from Artemio. The veil has a wash of sukra clear star and dotted with the pen on the flowers.

A more modern feel to this one, again no idea who the stamp is from but have used just part on the image and bleached out the bride and groom , I used water colour pencils, H2o's for the bells and I little flower soft

If your looking for an Easter treat then pop over and see what the Happy Daze design team are offering

Paint fusion play

I've had a little play with the paint fusion technique and practiced a fair bit before committing my self to a project as I knew I want to do the butterfly, I tyred it on watercolour paper regular card stock and even photo paper liked the look of that :) wasn't my idea but my friends hubby said try and see .
So here's the finished atc

It's on watercolor paper that has been ink and coloured with water soluble crayons
Hope you like my first effort it's very additive lol
