Welcome to Day 2 of 30 Days, 30 Cards. I'm excited to share today's sketch and card inspiration!
I found this sketch on Split Coast Stampers. I love the sunburst on this card sketch and that is what made me choose it!
Here is my card I created based off of this sketch. I used the new Crate Paper: Bundled Up papers. I paired it with some gold as I'm a little addicted to it right now.
Here is a close-up. In the gold dotted ray, I used a dotted mask, embossing ink pad and gold glitter embossing powder. The base of the card is kraft paper.
Supplies: Crate Paper - Bundled Up (6x6 Paper Pad); Glitz Design - Finnley (Giant Rhinestones, Washi Tape); Crate Paper - Maggie Holmes Flea Market (Resin Flowers); Technique Tuesday October Kit of the Month Stamp, Gold Glitter Paper, Kraft Paper.
Thank you for stopping by today!! Join Janey tomorrow for another sketch!!
Check out the 30 Days, 30 Cards page for information on submitting your cards and your chance to win a prize!!

Creative Friday
Hostess Incentive Inspiration and Double Dipping with American Crafts
Aloha! It's Gia here for Creative Friday...happy dance-- the weekend is coming! Party time! Speaking of parties--have you had one yet this month? This time of year is such a fun time of year to get together with your scrapbooking and paper crafting friends to share the excitement of the new catalog and inspiration for the upcoming season! Who wouldn't want to make 'n take a card or a treat bag and maybe drink a little hot tea, cocoa, or my favorite-spiced cider- with good friends? If you haven't seen this month's fabulous make 'n take by Megan Peacock-Team Works on the Memory Works Studio make sure you check it out!
Today I thought I would demonstrate one way I have used the Amy Tangerine Yes Please Embroidery templates that are October's Hostess Incentive** for qualifying Memory Works party orders.
**Party orders of $150 (retail) minimum, WSL
As some of you may know, I am sewing impaired. I need all the help I can get when it comes to hand stitching or machine stitching on my cards and layouts. I love the look of stitching but I was afraid I would totally mess up my design if I tried to stitch directly on my card front. I used scraps to make my first attempts at embroidering some of Amy's fun designs and cut them out to use on my cards as embellishments. The speech bubble was a little easier for me than the feather (which I pretty much messed up royally!) But I was so tickled with how it looked on some Maggie Holmes gold doily vellum that I used it anyway!
My cards are made from leftovers. I had some snips from my Maggie Holmes washi paper from the first Crate Paper Maggie Holmes signature collection. I combined these with some leftover frames and photo overlays from the latest Maggie Holmes Flea Market collection.
And this is why I am loving American Crafts!
Many of their products including the Crate Paper collections (Maggie Holmes and their Christmas lines) the Amy Tangerine Lines, Dear Lizzy lines, and probably others I am forgetting- have color pallettes, patterns, and embellishments that coordinate from one collection to the next released collection. What do I mean by this? Let's say you loved and already have Amy Tangerine's Yes Please collection and are drooling over the new Cut &Paste line. You can stretch your supplies by using leftovers together with new stuff! And it just so happens that many of these coordinating lines (from Winter and Summer CHA releases) are still available on the Memory Works website- with the older ones on sale! But once the clearance items are gone- they are gone forever. So don't wait- it's the perfect time of year to have what I call a double dipping party! You can buy awesome stuff on clearance that you can use in your projects together with some brand spanky new stuff!
You can see more Maggie Holmes Inspiration next week right here. Don't forget to follow us here and follow my blog so you can stay informed of upcoming events you will not want to miss!

a mini with Jody
Hello!!! Jody here again and I'm back for my favorite blog assignment! Who-hoo!! I'm going to jump right in with lots of pictures today.
I used the awesome Crate Paper mini album by Maggie Holmes to build my little album. I adore Maggie Holmes' style & love adding lots of layers in my projects. This mini was screaming my name from the day it was revealed!
Our girls took dance classes during last school year and loved it. I had a bunch of Instagram pictures printed and knew I wanted to use this sweet mini album for them.
With Maggie's mini as my base, I layered in Crate Paper's The Pier Ephemera pieces (currently in the Trend Essentials on the Memory Works Website), Maggie Holmes' Fabric Frames, Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm Flair & patterned papers, Teresa Collins She Said Stickers and a couple Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic stickers and Amy Tangerine vellum hearts from the Fall 2012 Memory Works catalog. I layered in some glassine bags filled with random sequins and added Maya Road rosette trim, various wood veneers, a beautiful gold doily from my stash & the Maggie Holmes Gold Glitter Alphas.
You can check out this previous Creative Friday post and video on how I created my glassine bag pockets HERE.
This "NEXT" page is actually the cardboard packaging from the Pier Epherma pack!! Reduce waste and reuse that packaging scrappers!
Don't you just love those sequins!! They're in the fabulous Pier Ephemera pack. Stop back next week for the last half of my 'dancing' mini album!
Until next time, happy scrappin'!

Creative Friday - Kelly Holbrook
Hi! My name is Kelly Holbrook, and I'm from Homer, MI. I am 33 years old, have been married for 12 years, and have 5 awesome kids. I am a stay at home mom, but I also homeschool 3 of my 5 kids. When I am not busy with that or scrapbooking, I also enjoy knitting, running, and photography. I have been scrapbooking since 1998, and a MemoryWorks Consultant since 2006. I would describe my scrapbooking style as Clean Lines/Eclectic. I scrap 8.5 x 11, and I usually like to include at least 2 photos per page. My go to supplies are tools, my favorites being punches, and embossing folders. My favorite MemoryWorks brands are Lily Bee Design, Jenni Bowlin, and Simple Stories. This is my 3rd year as a TeamWorks member, and I'm super excited about 2013!
Hi! It's Creative Friday once again...and I'm here just to show you some things I've been working on. I've been using up some older MW product while trying to wrap up a few last pages in my son, Oliver's 2 yr. album. Two of my favorite purchases for working on boy projects have probably been the Toy Box theme set from Crate Paper, and Echo Park's Charming. I'll never get sick of trying to use up every last scrap, and it's been perfect for quick pages using cell phone pics :)

Echo Park: Charming Collecton
The last project to share today is a card using one of Simple Stories' older product lines.
Let's Escape:
Simple Stories: Destinations Collection
I love pairing boats/cars images with the papers and embellishments from the Destinations line, so perfect together! Thanks for popping in today, I'll be back next week!

Creative Card Saturday
Good Afternoon! I was browsing the MW Studio gallery, and came across this card from consultant Jeannie Benson:
There are several things I like about it, but the design is what caught my eye. I love the simplicity of it...the 3 rectangles joined together by the border strip, and topped with the sentiment/focal point.
Here is my take on it...
That A Boy:
I used paper and stickers from the Crate Paper 'Toybox' collection to make a cute boy card. I also embossed the background, and changed the brads to buttons...to make it a little bit more boy-ish.
Browse a gallery today for a quick card idea...there's all kinds of inspiration to get your creative juices flowing!

Creative Card Saturday
Happy Saturday everyone! I've got a few Spring-ish cards that I put together with a few different lines from the previous catalog.
Happy Birthday:
This one features the October Afternoon 'Farmhouse' collection. Another easy one to put together... adding a few details like embossing , and a button with twine, can really make a project pop!
My Mother...My Friend:
Here is a card made with the Lily Bee Design 'This & That' collection. I topped a little hat pin with some beads and sequins...great touches on a card for Mother's Day, or even her birthday.
That's it! I hope you've found some inspiration to use up some of those scraps from your older products, so you can make room for some new!
