December Daily ~ 12/9

Hello all!! Jody here again with some more December Daily for you.  This has been a fun project to create and I hope everyone is inspired to create their own December Daily of sorts this year.  Today I'm sharing my December 9th page.  My countdown calendar is very layered with lots of different sized pages throughout.  You'll see my December 10th page peaking out from behind my little page 9 :)  I'll have lots of pictures on my blog today and Wednesday so please click over HERE!!  I've love to see you.

Here's another look at my kit too.  It's packed full of all kinds of embellishments, some of which didn't make it into my December Daily!  I have lots of left overs for Christmas Cards and even some holiday layouts.  More information on my blog.

I'll be back one more time this month, but until then soak up lots more Memory Works Design Team inspiration before the year ends!

Happy scrappin'!!

Day 18 of 30 Cards!

Only 36 days until Christmas... WHAT?!   Yes, my scrappy friends it's true.  Here in Wisconsin we've already had a dusting of snow.  It didn't last long, but we still got it just the same!  Just for fun, here's a link to a Christmas Countdown Clock HERE

November is whizzing right by us!  Have you created some cards to link up yet??  I have created more than I've posted so far but will have to catch up on my creative blog this week.  We had our youngest daughter's 2 year birthday party on Saturday.  Lot's of cuteness to say the least!  So, don't forget to link up on the Memory Works Blog-30 Days, 30 Cards page HERE.

So, onto Day 18 during this month of card making madness!  Here's my sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.

And my card!  I created with Fancy Pants, Merry Little Christmas, Simple Stories December Documented (black chalkboard paper), Studio Calico & Lawn Fawn Wood Veneers, a doily trimmed in half and my favorite May Arts natural burlap string.  This was a very simple and quick card to create.

And a closer view...

Thanks for tagging along this month!  We're loving all the Christmas card inspiration going on around here and we hope you are too.

Now, if you've created a few cards this month please link them up for your chance at a fabulous prize from Memory Works!  You can go to the linking page by clicking on 30 Days, 30 Cards in the top of the left side bar.  If you haven't created any cards yet, we hope you can make time to create in your busy schedule.  Many of these sketches are fantastic for using up scraps of patterned papers and take the guess work out of your design.

Happy card making!

a mini with Jody

Hello!!! Jody here again and I'm back for my favorite blog assignment!  Who-hoo!! I'm going to jump right in with lots of pictures today.

I used the awesome Crate Paper mini album by Maggie Holmes to build my little album. I adore Maggie Holmes' style & love adding lots of layers in my projects. This mini was screaming my name from the day it was revealed!

Our girls took dance classes during last school year and loved it.  I had a bunch of Instagram pictures printed and knew I wanted to use this sweet mini album for them.

With Maggie's mini as my base, I layered in Crate Paper's The Pier Ephemera pieces (currently in the Trend Essentials on the Memory Works Website), Maggie Holmes' Fabric Frames,  Dear Lizzy's Lucky Charm Flair & patterned papers, Teresa Collins She Said Stickers and a couple Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic stickers and Amy Tangerine vellum hearts from the Fall 2012 Memory Works catalog. I layered in some glassine bags filled with random sequins and added Maya Road rosette trim, various wood veneers, a beautiful gold doily from my stash & the Maggie Holmes Gold Glitter Alphas.

You can check out this previous Creative Friday post and video on how I created my glassine bag pockets HERE.

This "NEXT" page is actually the cardboard packaging from the Pier Epherma pack!!   Reduce waste and reuse that packaging scrappers!

Don't you just love those sequins!!  They're in the fabulous Pier Ephemera pack.  Stop back next week for the last half of my 'dancing' mini album!

Until next time, happy scrappin'!

Cards & Tags Thursday VIDEO!

Jody here from TeamWorks! It's great to be back on the blog today.  The heat here in Southeastern Wisconsin is awful, so I've been staying cool by crafting with my girls in my studio and playing in the sprinkler!  That's good 'ol Wisconsin weather for ya,  rarely a happy medium.

And, since I believe in taking full advantage of bad weather for my creative time, I did a video for you!

This how I paint, ombre style!  Enjoy!

You can find the Ranger Non-stick Craft Mat HERE, the Mr. Huey's Spray Inks HERE and Dear Lizzy Die Cut cards HERE.   Don't have a Memory Works Consultant, just use our Consultant Locator HERE!

For more information on the tags, you can visit my blog.

Happy ombre scrappin' everyone!

Tag! You're It with Jody

Oh, it's so good to be back today with my second week of tags and cards on Thursday!  I don't know about you all, but this girl is ready for Spring and some warmer weather.  Here in southeastern Wisconsin, it's a cold and muddy mess!

I've made good use of our time indoors creating this Spring!    One of our neices turns sweet 16 in May.  This first tag will be attached to her birthday gift, which is birthday money for Aunt Jody to take her clothes shopping!  It's hard to believe that she'll be driving soon.... gulp!

I used My Minds Eye Lavendar papers, Studio Calico stamps & Mr. Huey's, foam adhesive dots, seam binding, Thickers & Cosmo Cricket tiny types from my stash.  I also used one of the Tim Holtz rosette dies to create the fun elements on the tag.  Those papers are actually the original SN@P line, covered with a chunky sugar glitter from JoAnn Fabrics. I used my Glimmer Mists to color a small piece of Maya Road rosette trim from a past Express Kit also. I love how fun & funky this turned out!

Next up is a fun tag created with the new Amy Tangerine Yes Please 6x6 pad.  I just love these little Puffy Stickers too! These papers are so fun and bright.  So, what I did here was layer an Amy Tangerine paper onto a tag, adhered it & then trimmed it to size.  Next I added a doily wrapped around the side of the tag.  I added some new My Minds Eye Washi tapes, Amy Tangerine Puffy Stickers and a new SN@P overlay which I cut out from the 4x6" overlay. Lastly, I added a letter "I" sticker over the overlay to complete my sentiment.

My last card, I kept sweet and simple just the way my lovely Mom likes her cards.  She's a big dog lover and I knew I had to incorporate one the Studio Calico Wood Veneer dogs from their Here and There collection.  This card is one of a set that I made her for her birthday (surprise Mom!).

I layered a few different Amy Tangerine papers and smaller cut apart elements that are included in the 6x6" paper pad.  The sentiment is from the little My Minds Eye word stickers sheets.  The burlap string is my fav and from May Arts.

Thanks so much for spending your time with us today!  Lastly, I have a question for you all.  What's your favorite new paper and embellishment from this catalog?

So, far I'm lovin' Amy Tangerine, Dear Lizzy, all the My Minds Eye Washi tapes and the Studio Calico Wood Veneers.  By the way, on the Memory Works website all the wood veneers and washi tapes are under the Mixed Media category.

Happy scrappin'!!

Creative Friday ~ Part 2 with Jody

Hi again!  I'm back for week two of Creative Friday and will be sharing a mini book from one of my favorite designers, along with splashes of a few other favorites too.  But first, I realized last week I forgot to share my bio with you all!  Here's a little about me.

Jody Spiegelhoff
Jody has been a crafter since childhood and now she's a happy, crafty mama of 5 daughters and wife to her best friend, Brad. She's been stamping and scrapbooking since about 2003 and a Memory Works consultant since 2006. This is her second year on the MemoryWorks Design Team and she’s ready to rock it!! Some her favorite lines are My Minds Eye, Crate Paper, Dear Lizzy and Amy Tangerine. She loves to add layers and add lots of little details in her projects with inks, paints, burlap string and washi tapes. Jody can't wait to get scrappy and inspire you this year!

Now, onto the really fun stuff!  I love Elizabeth Kartchner and her Dear Lizzy lines. I've had a mini book for our daughter Hannah's 4K adventure on my "to-do" list for way too long, so this was a no brainer!  Here is Hannah's 4K Mini Book!  I added the Dear Lizzy Die Cut Cardstock Shapes, a My Minds Eye label sticker, various washi tapes including the Pink Bella Blvd Chevron, a Glitz Design number 4 sticker and an Amy Tangerine white wood grain alpha.

On the left side page, I punched a small cloud using my Fiskars mini cloud punch along the bottom of the polariod.  I then backed the cloud shaped hole with a small piece cut from pretty yellow Dear Lizzy Cardstock Shapes.  I punched another cloud to add on top of the polariod and a couple more for the right hand page too.  The yellow phrase stickers are from My Minds Eye, which I also love.  There are SO many little phrases and words on one stickers sheet, it's crazy!  You'll also see the May Arts burlap string tied around the polariod for some added texture.  The funky wood veneer LOVE is from Lawn Fawn and the pink phrase is from Glitz Design.

I'm in love with all wood veneers and was so excited to get my hands on the new Chevrons from Studio Calico!  The other "school days" is in the Speech Bubbles set from Studio Calico too.  I added more little phrases from Glitz Design, a doily and another Dear Lizzy Cardstock Shape.  I left the other page blank for some journaling.

And some more funky cuteness here.  I used my cloud negatives on both pages and added more washi tape and wood veneer chevrons.

Thank you for spending your time with us today!  I hope you'll create a special mini book of your own, using your favorite line of paper and embellishments.  Until next time, have a scrappy day!

MemoryWorks Express Kit

This week you're all in for a treat!!  Our Design Team cuties have created some more  incredibly sweet projects for YOU using the Memory Works Express Kit ~ AMORE!

First up today are Megan's creations.  Don't you just love the variety of projects she created with the Amore Express Kit!
Megan's birdhouse is way too pretty to be outside.  Check out the roof!  The embossed paper really adds to the realistic look & shabby chic feel of her cottage birdhouse.

Tag, you' re it!  Megan's altered tag is so striking with the all the pretty layers and feminine touches.

This card has such beautiful contrast and interest, it's almost too pretty to give away... I said almost!  Love that big rosette.

I'm totally nuts over doilies these days and Megan's delicate card really caught my girly eye.

And now for our super sweet Amanda's amazing designs.  They can be recreated with any papers for any occasion! This mason jar would be a perfect gift for anyone, especially a favorite teacher or hair stylist.  Just alter & fill with some sweet treats!  Perfect!

I could see these hearts hanging in a little girl's bedroom.

And finally, here are some more projects from yours truly!  I'll admit, I went a crazy this month with all the frilly cuteness so decided to jump outside of my comfort zone, bigtime!  I dabbled a bit in some mixed media this month and created this altered canvas.  The only additional products I used were the actual canvas (Hobby Lobby), a My Minds Eye phrase sticker {which I cut apart} and the multiple layers of Mr. Huey's I sprayed and painted onto the canvas.

Here are my comfort zone projects!  I added some My Minds Eye washi tape from the Winter Trend Essentials Ruby collection, a Studio Calico Wood Veneer Camera, natural burlap string and flicked on some white Mr Huey's.  I also used some paper punches and my Cricut to add some other paper elements.

I think this embossed paper was my favorite in the AMORE Express Kit.  The rosette & ruffled trims were a close second though!  I also used my paper punches and added a couple Studio Calico Wood Veneers, paper roses & seam binding to finish off my last two cards.

What a lovely kit this month!  The papers and embellies were perfect for creating some beautiful Valenines Day projects or for your everyday scrappin'!  Stop by on Wednesday for more Memory Works Studio consultant projects!
Until then, stay warm & create something today!
